I have been going to physical therapy for my shoulder at Select Physical for about a month now. I have been very happy with the physical therapists that have worked with me, Olga and Alex. Everyone in the office is very friendly and I have worked also with some others also in the office. I do highly recommend them if you need PT. They listen to you about what might hurt when they are working on you which of course is very important. The women in the front of the office are also very friendly and there to help you. Again I highly recommend Select Physical Therapy in Burlingame! read more

This review is overdue... I was sent here after a work injury to my lower back/SI joint area over one year ago. Things were a tad awkward with scheduling and having to exercise with masks which is never a good thing, but thanks to Olga and others I am still upright and working! read more

This place rocks, I wouldn't be where I am today without therapist and staffing there In Burlingame. They're always positive, upbeat, caring and going the extra mile for you. I was nervous, scared, and terrified to go there because of a previous encounter with another physical therapy company. This company got me over my fear in 10-15 minutes because they actually cared about me. Unfortunately, I'm having spinal surgery number three, and fortunately I have a surgeon, a great managing physician, and a physical therapy squad that is awesome. I'll be back in January. 2024! I'm starting my year off right and hype with Select Physical Therapy. Once again thank you all very much, as soon as the doctors clear me, I'll be back. read more

This is my feedback based on my recent experience at their office. I am disappointed to say that my experience was less than satisfactory. I felt that the level of professionalism and courtesy exhibited by the front office staff was lacking, and I hope they can address the issues and improve their office services for future patients. Given how close they are to where I live, I reached out by phone several times but l no one was picking up and finally I left a voicemail and I also received no reply in days! After several days, I went to their office and the receptionist was talking with someone for 15minutes without even acknowledging my presence! Finally, I asked, are you accepting new patients? she replied "we are but we are booked out"! In other words, they have no capacity and therefore, we don't need your business! I found that the staff were not responsive when I attempted to contact their office by phone. I also felt that they were not attentive when I arrived, and when I arrived, they ignored a guest. This made me feel uncomfortable and undervalued as a patient and for a healthcare established, I felt unsupported! There was an evident lack of communication and responsiveness when I had inquiries. I felt that I was not being given adequate attention and care, which undermined my trust in this establishment and my willingness to receive care from them. read more

called to verify if MD order received, no knowledge of the issue. called 2x, 1st called was answered but put on hold for more than 10 minutes without checking on the caller. called the 2nd time, answered, asked question and lady said she's on lunch break. poor customer service. read more

Great staff! They know their trade and enjoy it. Every appointment I had was beneficial to my recovery and a great time. All the staff is personable and super friendly. I have worked with Olga on 2 separate injuries and I'm luck to have had her take care of me. They are on top of their game. Thanks to everyone there! They also have strict Covid-19 policies and procedures in place! read more

I recently was a patient at Select PT for a neck and shoulder injury and I cannot speak too highly of the attention and treatment. During COVID challenges they have adopted stringent and appropriate procedures making you feel safe and cared for. My therapist Justin S was just incredible - very professional and highly skilled. She is so personable and combines her wonderful attitude with an excellence in her craft and application of therapy adapting to my particular injury and history. She provided relief and a path for future exercises and care. The support staff including Jeannie in the front office are of the highest standard and they are in a great location with easy parking. During a different treatment several years ago I felt that it was a little crowded and they were almost overbooking - I did not feel this during this course of treatment. read more

I was recommended by my mom to come here and I'm so glad I did! Location is great - there's free parking in the front and back which makes it very convenient to come here. I called the number provided by Yelp and spoke to the receptionist as a first time customer. She was very knowledgable and clear with what was needed of me prior to coming in. My doctor said I had sciatica and approved 8 visits. Wanda was my therapist and I love her! She's taken care of my brother, my mom and me! It was a really enjoyable experience going through physical therapy. I definitely feel more knowledgable than before about my back and how to take care of my body better. Though I know people that come here my think that the exercises the therapist work on are "obvious" people don't really know the correct form until they have a physical therapist to help them get proper form. I love all the staff here - I know they have interns and I feel like they're awesome as well! Really cool that they'll also sell you bands and other accessories for helping people recover but can be pricey. Also, super important to call a day in advance if you're planning to cancel/ reschedule or they'll charge you for the session!!! read more

I verified this location accepted my insurance before beginning. I called and was told I would pay $14 a session after insurance covers most. Now they are sending me a $500 bill for a fee sessions. Go elsewhere if you don't want a surprise bill. read more

Select Physical Therapy - Burlingame - Physical Therapy Near Me - Burlingame, California

Olga is the best and an absolutely exceptional PT. My right-shoulder was hurting quite badly with pains of Shoulder Impingement Syndrome, nerve compression, and tendonitis since March 2020. In my first therapy session, Olga diagnosed my exact problems with my right shoulder and arm. Each visit Olga listened to me attentively and examined my right arm, neck, and shoulder movements thoroughly to measure the level of pain Olga massages the most painful part of my arm and shoulder, and she instructs me to do the on-site exercises. She monitors my posture and time and gives me a take home exercise handout with pictures. At end of session, she covers my shoulder with a heating pad to relax muscles for 10-15 minutes. In addition, Olga emails me the Ulnar Verve Glide on-line exercise demo, which really helps me to heal my painful right shoulder and arm faster. Olga treatment plans along with on-site & take-home exercises & her email of the Ulnar Verve Guide helps to improve of flexibility of my shoulder and arm movements. Her expertise on human anatomy and knowledge and her extraordinarily committed physical treatment is commendable. I am totally satisfied with her treatment and highly recommend Olga. read more

I came to Select Physical Therapy for a fractured collarbone injury. The staffs here are friendly, and very knowledgeable. The suggested exercises are definitely helping my shoulder recovery. Great location, easy free street parking too. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Select Physical Therapy. I went in with long-term back problems, and I was doubtful that they could even be resolved. But from my first appointment with Andrea, she gave me the confidence that I could feel better through physical therapy. She quickly identified a muscle imbalance, and through a couple months of exercises and hands-on therapy, my back was feeling like I was ten years younger. I was thoroughly impressed with Andrea's competence and professionalism, and I'd strongly recommend her at Select Physical Therapy. read more

I had been procrastinating about getting PT for many years until I was in so much pain that I had to take action. I knew no one in my area, and I literally selected Physiotherapy Associates based on their reviews. So here I am, writing about my experience. This practice knows how to deal with patients. They treat each patient attentively and individually. They are genuinely concerned about "Your" wellness. Wanda and Manisha are simply the best. Amy is a wonderful resource when it comes to educating on the TENs unit. Joyce is a fun and uplifting partner when doing your exercises. She actually does them with you! I highly recommend this practice for any PT needs. I was actually really sad at my very last visit. read more

While the staff is nice, I did not feel they tailored the PT to my needs. My symptoms actually got worse. They followed "standard' exercises without truly understanding that a one fits all approach does not work. read more

This place rightfully deserves 5 stars. Got approval for 12 visits, but I was fine in 2 visits! They found the exact area where my foot was sprained, worked wonderfully well on it, and got me back on the running trail in 4 weeks. I also received a birthday card from them even after I was finished with therapy. Great experience. read more

I unfortunately did not have a positive experience at this place and can't recommend it at all. I went in with a very painful back-related injury that my very excellent primary care doctor thought would benefit from physical therapy. The whole visit was somewhat strange. The PTs didn't ask me any meaningful questions and didn't seem interested in being consultative. I'm not sure they even read my doctor's referral and his diagnosis. My appointment was basically this: They had me do a few generic exercises, gave me a short but painful deep tissue massage and electrotherapy treatment, and then handed me a pile of printouts of illustrations of exercises to do at home. These looked like they'd been photocopied from a very old textbook -- it was basically what you'd find if you Googled exercises for my injury, so I'm not sure why I paid them a bunch of money for this -- and they didn't offer up any directors on when, how often, etc. I should do these exercises. The overall atmosphere was unprofessional, and I didn't get the impression that the physical therapists were highly trained specialists in their field. The two PTs that were there the day I went were friendly but seemed stressed-out and rushed: They were both working with me and with another client who was there at the same time. There was little privacy in the office -- there's one main room where the other client was being worked with, and a smaller room off to the side where they took me, but left the door open during much of my appointment. Overall, nobody seemed in the least interested in the particulars of my injury or what may have caused it. It seemed like they were just going through the motions of generic treatment, rather than actually listening to me and my primary care doctor and working with us to outline a treatment program. They were, however, quick to want to schedule me for multiple visits a week and to charge my credit card -- and they are not cheap! They also caused some issues with my insurance/billing that I had to take time to email them about afterwards to get resolved. read more

I've been to other physical therapists and I have to say that Select is the best there is. Justine, Olga, Jeanne, and the others there really care about you. Jeanne makes it easy to work with your insurance company. Justine is the best therapist I've ever had. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. read more

I tried four PT places before I fell in love with these guys. Wanda is amazing and has the best hands for massage therapy, Chris is knowledgeable and kindly tough, Brenda and Brittany are also wonderful. Not only are they all a very nice group of people, but they are extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend them. And parking is really easy too. read more

Select physical therapy in Burlingame has provided me with by far the lowest quality of medical service I've ever received. My physical therapy appointments we're almost always double booked and I was usually passed off to the PT aid who was extremely friendly and easy to work with. my appointments were always limited to no more than 40 to 45 minutes and end it on the dot. When I asked my physical therapist Kelly why my timeslots are so short I was told my insurance company does not pay for anything more. This is complete BS. I called the insurance company and received a confirmation from them that they in fact do easily pay for a much larger timeslot than 45 minutes, especially for a significant surgery such as mine. The insurance company told me that the physical therapist simply has to fill out a few more forms but they would easily be approved. They did not see any forms filled out on file. Although the stuff is fairly friendly to be around, I often find myself looking at other physical therapist such as Olga, who seemed to be spending a lot more time providing dedicated care to her patients and being attentive to their health needs. My physical therapist gave me the bare minimum and standard PT treatment that did nothing beneficial for me in anyway. I do not feel any better being at this place at all. I would never recommend the spot to anyone. read more

I had the pleasure of receiving physical therapy for a post surgery rehab. I was greeted at the front desk by Amy and Faye. They were just super great, very professional and lots of fun at each appointment. My therapist Wanda was unbelievable ps yes she will work you!! would definitely recommend this facility for anyone to go to. There was professionalism, and an great sense of personal care in achieving the maximum goal of getting back to your level of comfort and mobility. The treats at the front desk didn't hurt either, leave the green ones for me!!!! read more

I've been to Physiotherapy Associates on several different occasions, and have most recently seen Wanda and Amy for help with a hip/back problem. I have to say that these women were really terrific at helping me to feel physically better--way less pain and associated symptoms relating to a tendonitis problem that was really getting to be problematic. The problem is now gone, thanks to the PT AND wonderful staff there. I really can't say more about the quality of help and the caring personalities. read more

I started seeing Tara as Physiotherapy two months ago to rehab my broken ankle after surgery. She has been everything you would want in a physical therapist. The sessions are productive and she pushes me just enough to move my healing along at a solid pace. I set a aggressive goal to walk (hobble) by my son's Bar Mitzvah, and she helped me get there. The rest of the staff, including Alex, are friendly and professional. I recommend Physiotherapy Associates in Burlingame highly. read more

My family comes here for all their physical therapy needs and have had great experiences. I was referred to physiotherapy associates from my chiropractor in the first trimester of my 3rd pregnancy. This pregnancy aggravated an old back injury and it was getting hard to function. Wanda and Manisha had provided me with great care. My pain levels were maintained at a manageable level during a challenging pregnancy. I am grateful for having this service. I highly recommend! read more

They offer a wide range of physical therapy excersises. The staff is welcoming and makes the atmosphere feel at home. Also they are the friendliest people and very welcoming. read more

I wanted to post another review, now that I have finished my course of physical therapy with Wanda and the team at BAK. They are a phenomenal outfit -- friendly, supportive, and tremendously helpful and knowledgable. I owe a great deal of my post-surgery recovery to their help, and I'm extremely grateful. I also want to recognize Amy, Joyce, and Faye (even though Faye doesn't work there anymore) -- everyone at the office always made me feel welcome, and I enjoyed seeing them all on every visit. Thanks!!! read more

My wife went there first, I went there secondly, and my mom also went after shoulder replacement. Nothing but the finest treatment! Wanda is awesome! The other PT's are pretty good, although never spent much time with them to be fair. This was my first visit to Physiotherapy Associates for PT for a back injury. The visit got off to a fine start with a helpful receptionist named Angela. Unfortunately, the actual PT session was highly disappointing. I was seen only by a physical therapy intern who evaluated me for about 20 minutes. After a bit of waiting, I was told that the actual physical therapist who was supposed to see me had left the office and would not be back for a while. The PT student told me that she would be the one doing the session and can offer some soft tissue exercises. I left after 30 minutes when it was clear the PT supervisor was not to be found. As a medical professional I find it highly unprofessional that they allow unlicensed physical therapy students to see patients without oversight. I would not recommend this place to anyone seeking quality/professonal care. read more

I was asked to arrive at my son's first appointment 30" early but said that I could make it by 15" early and was told ok- just try to make sure it's at least 15" early. So I rushed to the appt and was finished filling out the paperwork in 5 minutes. We then saw someone who looked like the PT walk in and I thought to myself- oh- maybe she can take us early then....nope- we ended up waiting, and waiting til past our appointment time I can't remember the exact time but I think she finally saw us about 10-15 minutes after our appt time and she didn't even have a patient before us. That initially turned me off and I would have just dealt with it if I thought I was getting excellent service or advice but because I am in the medical field and because I can research exercises on the internet- I felt like he got nothing out of this appointment. I left feeling that I wasted my $30 co pay and basically wasted 30" waiting in the waiting room for no good reason and walked away with 2 exercises that my son already knew. read more

Outstanding, really as good as it gets. I recently completed a two-month rehabilitation course with Wanda and her great crew, after I had both my knees totally replaced. I am truly grateful for their outstanding expertise, high energy, great customer service, and patience with yours truly. Wanda has a DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy, I guess), as does another woman there, and they are supported by a staff of two exercise coordinators (Joyce and Amy). In each session, Wanda gave me hands-on treatments including soft-tissue massage, specialized stretching of my joints, and then Joyce would put me through exercises targeted at my precise needs of the moment. They also gave me instruction sheets for exercises to be done at home. I'm completely convinced that they made all the difference, turning a guy who was just out of the hospital and who could barely walk, into the new me, who can walk without assistance, balance well, even run a little and do moderate squats. The way they fine-tuned my new body parts also gave me a lot more energy and optimism to go back to normal daily life. I think it's highly significant that they had two different interns from local schools visiting and participating as well. To me, their presence was a very strong endorsement of Wanda and the whole office by the local universities, plus they brought in the very latest in teaching and research in the field. Besides getting much better physically, I learned a great deal, and I could not recommend the whole office more highly. read more

My husband went here for physical therapy after a very major back surgery 4 years ago and the care that he received was excellent! Wanda is an amazing physical therapist who is encouraging and very compassionate. I had a stroke in late July 2014 and I have also been cared for by Wanda and it has been, beyond a doubt, the reason for my recovery. Wanda and her team, Joyce, Maneesha, and Amy at the front desk, are all just a pleasure to around, as well as being the best at what they do. The fact that my husband and I each had very different diagnosis' and we each had such success in our recoveries, speaks to the talent and skill coupled with encouragement and compassion of each clinician. I am still seeing Wanda 3 times a week, and am so blessed to have Wanda and the rest of the team in my corner. I cannot recommend this wonderful team and facility enough! Whatever your physical therapy needs are, they will give you their all! read more
