A+ Experience with Jeff and Super Stone…read more This was my third kitchen project with Super Stone, and once again, Jeff and his team delivered outstanding results. Jeff was patient, full of great design ideas, and made the whole process easy. We live in a 100-year-old Harlem townhouse, so nothing is square--but the crew took their time with the template and made sure everything fit perfectly. On install day, it was like watching a knife go through butter--smooth and seamless! Jeff also helped with stone updates around two fireplaces, and even found beautiful remnant pieces that worked perfectly. The whole team was punctual, professional, and very responsive throughout. I Highly recommend Super Stone for any stonework project. This is a Renata Approved business with an A+ rating!

I have always had positive experiences with Roy from Lamp Surgeon. He is punctual when scheduling 'house calls' and I have never had an issue with any of his lamp rewiring or repair work. I am very careful when procuring any vendor, since many of the builidng lamps are original 1948 fixtures. I my experience, I have found Roy to be an honest and fair vendor.

The wife of the owner screamed at me on the phone when I raised that there was a new deep scratch on the top of the base of an MCM chrome lamp that I had asked to have rewired after it was returned to me. I called immediately after the lamp arrived. She first claimed that the removal of tape I had put on there had caused the underlying paint to flake off (I had not put any tape on it), then said it must have been my doorman who caused it since I didn't hand off the lamp myself on pick up (I had specifically requested to do the handoff to avoid something like this but wasn't notified when they were arriving and wasn't given a window) and then, while arguing and yelling at me, tried to guilt trip me because her husband was recovering from surgery. Good businesses acknowledge the issue, regardless of how it was caused and then collaborate professionally to come up with a solution. And if there are personal circumstances that can understandably disrupt business operations, don't take on new work. There's no way I would ever use them again.

Called them for a repair on a Schonbek fixture which I had purchased form them many years ago They said they have a person who does repair work. The store took my name and #, said the repair person would call me. Four dales later a guy named Jose, calls me and starts the conversation off with excuses as to why he had not 'already called me'. At that point I did not care about his excuses, I just wanted to move forward and get the fixture repaired. We made an appointment for the next day, 2:30 PM. He never showed. At 3:30, one hour after our scheduled appointment I texted him and he just said sorry I am in NJ now, and said tomorrow same time. I said NO, I don't think you would be good to do business with. He then texted me that he was two blocks away from me, which I highly doubted. I repeated myself that I did not sense we were a good match to do business with and that I will look for someone else.
