But that is simply not the case when it comes to this lovely antique lighting store. It's a clean, organized shop run by a welcoming patron who knows a lot about the history of the area. It's not overly big, so things are easy to find-- glittery chandeliers, Tiffany style lamps, Art Deco wall sconces-- and nothing is caked in dust (you can actually SEE the lights!). Prices range depending on what you're looking for (as expected), but there's no problem finding the price as delicate tags hang about the room above you like snowflakes. Oh, and don't hesitate to ask him to turn all the lights on. It's spectacular to see everything lit up (even better, go at dusk for an even better view).

I recently needed to pick up some new kitchen lighting. I did some searching online and found that…read moreSupreme Lighting was a supplier of the brand i was looking for. I have passed the store a few dozen times cutting through Laidlaw to get to Highway 7, but never had the chance to or needed to stop in. As soon as you walk in the showroom they have their counter space and desks to the left, so there is usually someone to greet you once you walk in. It didn't take more than 15 seconds for someone to approach me & ask if i needed any help. They didn't try to up-sell me on anything more expensive than what i was looking for. Answered all of our questions and really knew all of the products really well. Their showroom is very inviting with all the different styles of contemporary, modern, classic lighting options. Lots of lighting for indoor & outdoor plus they sell various shapes & sizes of energy saver bulbs. They didn't have style i was looking for, but it only took a couple of minutes to locate it in the catalogue and order it. The pricing was fantastic and beat everything i found online and at other lighting stores in Toronto. I went in to buy 1 kitchen light and ended up buying 2 because the price was so great - we got a deal on pricing for purchasing more than 1 product. Plus i wanted the 2 fixtures in the kitchen to match, so it worked out great. We placed an order on a Saturday and by Wednesday of the following week our lights were in! If you don't have an electrician, they have a 3rd party they can refer you to (doesn't work for Supreme LIghting) than can quote you based on the product and time it will take. Now it's time for some new outdoor lighting and i'm looking forward to going back to the showroom!

The showroom is a good size. There are lights for every room in a house, including hallways. There are many styles, mostly classic mainstream, contemporary and some latest LED lights. There is a separate room for chandeliers. The design of the various lights are quite nice. What I like is that the 2 salespeople I talked are knowledgeable about the built quality, the materials used and the history and reputation of the manufacturers of the few lighting fixtures I inquired. The pricing is higher than the usual Home Depot or Canadian Tire stocks, but that is to be expected. It seems to be cheaper than Union Lighting to me. There are some items on sale. Those items are priced very competitively.

Don`t let the elegant appearance fool you, the quality of kitchen faucets is poor. Stick to the flooring, and anything that has no moving parts. I bought a Como brand kitchen faucet and paid $150.00 for it, thinking it would be good quality. Looks are deceiving, and the price led me to believe that I was buying a good quality faucet but I was wrong. It was easy to install, it looks beautiful, but you only have 2 choices of water temperature.... scalding hot or freezing cold. There is no way to moderate the water temperature. It`s almost impossible to get a balanced warm temperature. I am either scalding my hands, or freezing them. The faucet is complete garbage, and now I have to buy a new faucet because I didn`t return it, so that`s on me. However, I thought I would get used to the horrible temperature settings after a few weeks, but alas, I was incorrect in my assumption. I will now go to Home Depot and get a Kohler or Moen.

I have a condo that has cement flooring underneath and I was told by some that I can only put down engineered flooring that interlocked which made my selection window much much smaller. I asked Chelsea about this and she advised me that although it mostly depends on what my contractor says, she had others use the engineered floors that didn't interlock before with no problems. With this information it gave me a lot more confidence and choices to choose from. I had some wafering back and forth about 2 selections and I wasn't in the country so I contacted Chelsea and she took multiple photos for me with the samples in sunlight so i could see to make my final decision. On the face of it, there isn't anything special about the place, but if you're ever looking for anything related to door hardware, or just need keys cut, I definitely recommend you take a closer look. The business I work for is located in Toronto, but since I live north of the city, I happened upon their website while looking for somewhere to get keys cut. After seeing they sold a lot of stuff I use at work on their website, I decided to drop in and ask a few questions to see if I could get many of the things I need on an ongoing basis. Turns out they do, and I've been frequenting the place ever since. Not only is ordering items easy: You can order online, email in an order, or call one in - and can either have your items shipped, or go and pick them up from the store (right away if they're a stock item, or a couple of days later if they're not), but the customer service here is second to none. Peter goes out of his way to try and be helpful, and to ensure you get exactly what you want. I've also benefited from Peter's diagnostic skills more than once. Whether I've brought in a broken piece of hardware, showed him pics of something on my phone, or emailed a video in, he always helps out where he can, and gives help and advice that have more than once proved both correct and valuable. I will definitely continue to frequent this place, and if you're in need of anything related to door hardware, I suggest you check it out.
