I brought my boat in because it had a top cylinder engine misfire. I got a prompt call back, saying that the fuel injector from that cylinder was not functioning, but they were able to lean it out and get the motor to operate correctly. I was advised that the best course of action was to replace that fuel injector. I asked the price and was told $1000 with parts and labor so I agreed. Then weeks go by and I hear nothing so I call. I was told the injector was in but "I may need a computer for the outboard" I then asked how much that was. I then was told they don't know if I need it but would get prices and would call me the following Monday. Monday came around and no call Tuesday I called and was told the guy I was speaking to didn't know about my boat call back.The end of the week came and I called again. This time I was told the guy working on my boat wasn't there and he'd be back the following Tuesday and they would call me with what they found (called on Thursday).Tuesday came and no call so I called this morning at 10:42am and was told the man working on my boat had just stepped out and that they would call me back. 4 hours went by and no call so I called again and the man said "he just walked in". Then another man got on the phone and said "it's done" I said what's done do I need a computer and he said it's done. I asked him what the bill was and he said "it turned out to be a bunch" $3490.00 When I arrived after being fuming mad I tried to be as nice as possible and explained not one thing had been told to me and this now massive bill is crazy. It fell on deff ears. There were no old parts given back nor shown just a massive surprise bill that I don't even know if anything was actually done. The next place I'm going is the better Business Bureau because these are shady business practices. Attached is my invoice and highlighted is the only thing every communicated to me. It literally even states i agreed to the one fix. I'm filing with the bbb and will not be back. Update just got off the phone with the owner of the shop 7-17-25 and he called me a liar and said he has dealt with the Better Business Bureau before. He said we had a "miscommunication" I asked how we had a miscommunication and he could not answer. WE HAD NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL even after I called week after week. He told me he has dealt with the Better Business Bureau before and it was "frivolous claims" and that "he thought he called me" when I called them multiple times over a space of weeks and got no response. For the record I started the boat this morning and the boat is still broken. It runs like complete crap. Still missing on the same cylinder the computer had greasy fingerprints and oil all over it, so who knows if that is actually changed or not what he did say is bring the boat back to him and he will put a computer in it and take the other one out and will give me $2000. How the f do I trust you to even touch my boat. I will let the Better Business Bureau deal with this. I am not letting him touch anything or even have the opportunity to sabotage the motor further. This guy is an absolute liar and will back door his way into overcharging you and claim it as a "miscommunication" absolute bs attached is my "brand new computer" attached pic is my brand new computer number one is grease all over it Keep in mind. This is after wiping it down trying to find a date of service that was not put on the part #2 is a deep gouge in the plastic case #3 and #4 are saltwater buildup on the "brand new unit". This is not a miscommunication. The motor for the record is still missing in the same cylinder offering to refund someone for less than you screw them over for and give them who knows what parts out of your pile is a joke small claims court here we come read more

Absolutely great work done by these guys. Great communication, rates are fair and they definitely know their business. I also had some scheduling difficulties in picking up my boat when they were done with it, and despite being very busy and full they worked with me on holding the boat for me longer than they had originally planned on. They explained everything that they found and what they did, gave me a lot of information about my boat that I didn't even know. The amount that I ultimately got charged was less than the estimate they provided, I was honestly pretty shocked overall. They could have charged me probably 50% more and I wouldn't have thought twice about it. Very poor follow up on repairs. Won't allow you to see old parts, simply make described repairs without notifying until the invoice. Completely understand if a repair must be made, but a conversation with the owner should take place. "Is what is" attitude towards customer service. read more

The actual mechanical shop I am reviewing is located near the Woman's Correctional Facility in Gig Harbor at 5926 Sehmel Drive NW. This week our boat motor shut down while getting ready to go out on Puget Sound. I called Lighthouse Marine and asked if I could bring the boat in immediately to see what was wrong. They were extremely busy but told me to bring it in to see if it was something simple. When I brought the boat in, three mechanics stopped wha they were doing and started giving the boat a good run down. They identified a few issues but told me they would need more time to find the problem. Although they were incredibly busy, they got my boat out in two days and found several serious problems that would have eventually caused a mechanical issue while on the water. They were so professional in the way they cared for my boat and provided me with valuable information on future service needs. I trust their work and appreciate their number of years in the business. Their prices are fair and comparable to other shops. Nothing in boating is ever going to be cheap. I was referred to this company by several boaters and would sure recommend them to anyone in the future. By the way, the boat starts and runs better than it has done since we've owned it. read more

Joe Gannon at Light House Marine saved me a considerable amount of time and $$. My Yamaha stopped pushing water out the overflow port. I thought the pump was bad. That would mean taking it out of the water, trailering the boat to LHM and waiting my turn to be helped. Hearing that Lighthouse does quality work, I brought in a late 70s Mercury outboard, and they kept it for nearly a year without fixing it. This is after I paid them around 250 dollars to put in a new water pump kit only to find that the motor still had the same problems (smoking, etc.) When I showed up at the downtown GH shop to request the motor back, "Mike," the owner said he would get back to me in a couple of weeks and that he had been there since 5 am.... After blowing me off, he eventually called to let me know that he didn't have time to fix my motor and that I needed to come and pick it up or he would put it in the "aluminum bin." I will not bring my motors, boats, etc. to Lighthouse Marine ever again. read more
