Always baited with fresh bait and in the water as soon as possible. My 10 Y/O son was ecstatic to haul in a large sturgeon and Mark was great with him as well. I called him from my layover in Oakland, California and told him I was gonna try to get a paddle in that same evening,if possible, he started describing it and said, "Man you just gotta get here, I'll drop you a pin!. You're not gonna believe what an amazing experience you're gonna have!" We both had goosebumps, he was so pumped and excited, and so was I!!! He was so right, Everything was perfect, and my goosebumps had goosebumps. It was such a beautiful Paddle. A few days later, I had a little more time on my hand, so I gave him a call, once again blew me away. My final night before I was to fly home opened up and once again he went above and beyond. I record my paddles with a GARMIN watch that synchronizes with the RELIVE app to show your video Trail on a satellite map and any pictures and videos you take and geo-stamped along your trail. It also allows you to edit pictures that were taken of you while you're paddling. And you guessed it, Scott took pictures of me out on the water. The guy is just amazing, his passion has no limits and it's infectious. I've never experienced such good service. I felt like I was being taught by good friends more than they were "instructors". I've been scuba diving before this class but they still taught me extremely useful skills in the pool and open water. They did a great job keeping me and my buddy comfortable at all times and I never felt like I was in any danger at any point of the class (even though you must take your mask off at 25 feet in the cold water!!). I would definitely recommend the open water course with Ed & Danetta to any of my friends. With an upcoming trip to Baja Sur, I decided this was the time and was initially looking at outfits in Mexico when I just so happened to check local prices here in the PNW. I was surprised to find that Underwater Sports offered the most affordable PADI certification I had seen, half the cost of some dive companies in Baja. When I went to check out the shop, I was immediately impressed with the staff, who were all friendly, knowledgeable, & passionate about diving. It felt right, so I booked the Open Water Diver course. This proved to be a very good decision as our instructor, Jaiden, and her assisting Dive Masters (Frank & Jason) were all equally skilled, friendly, and engaging. I thoroughly enjoyed the course. It was professional but never stiff. I was confident that Jaiden and our Dive Masters always knew what they were doing and had our safety as their top priority, but they also were very relatable and easy to talk to. The experience was an entirely positive one, from beginning to end, and while I was already certain that I would love diving, I am now equally certain that I have found a community that I will continue to share that love with. I highly recommend Underwater Sports in Federal Way for anyone interested in crossing over to the other side of the water's surface. There's nothing like paying to be taken out diving and then made to feel bad every time you turn around. I'm a good diver, I paid attention but I was still talked down to and even yelled at a couple of times for not being able to do something to her standard. If you can't be nice to your customers, you shouldn't be in customer service. And it wasn't only I that felt this way, since the trip I have spoken with two others who have dived with them numerous times and they both told me that she's always like that. Might be time for some happy pills!
