It goes along the Puyallup River and is pleasant but isn't quite as scenic as the trail that is called on Yelp the Riverwalk Trail which also goes along the Puyallup River near Sumner. To me and from the signage when on the trail it seems like one and the same to me but Yelp seems to have separate entries for the trail that goes east and the trail that goes west. The western side of the trail has a relatively smooth surface and during fishing season lots of fisherman come here to fish for salmon. The westerly direction of the trail does have lots of homeless people along it and most of the time they are harmless but a friend who is a fisherman and comes here to fish has had uncomfortable situations with them here on and around the trail so if you go by yourself through here it's good to be aware and cautious and maybe a good idea to have someone else tag a long with you if you are able to.

I gave it only 3 stars because it's not always the "safest" trail..I always feel uneasy about leaving my car parked there because there are so many nooks and crannies for people To hide out and wait for you to go far down the trail so they can break in..the trail is a little trashy because kids and homeless people like to just litter. There are a couple spots along the river where there are tarps hanging off trees like a homeless person put up for shelter..so that makes me nervous when I'm alone with my daughter in the stroller..always carry something to protect yourself on this trail. I haven't heard of any crimes, but it just doesn't always feel safe. There are easy spots where someone could jump you from out of bushes etc. sometimes you might get a couple "off" characters walking on this trail so just watch and be vigilant.

I called Fred several times with no answer and was about to leave until I finally saw his boat on a different set of docks. By the time I got over there I was informed that they were about to just leave, he wouldn't have tried to contact me and my 2 other friends before leaving just take our deposits and run I guess. Eventually we got on the water after Fred asked one of the other clients to buy bait for him. On the water I was watching a downrigger rod and it started to bounce so I told Fred there was a fish on and he replied with "well have you ever caught a fish before grab the rod" which i don't touch people's gear without asking, maybe that's too polite. As I fight the fish his reel becomes unsealed and falls so I have to get it back on and of course that was my fault too. My friend was fighting a fish and one of the keys of the rod was missing probably from before he even touched it and he got blamed for that as well even though the eye wasn't even on the line and anyone that fishes know it would still be there unless it got cut off or the rod was line without it being there to begin with. Basically felt like he didn't want to be there or care and he has the brains of a starfish. With so many charters out there DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

They had everything from farm animals (like goats, sheep's, llamas) to exotic animals (like a zebra, kangaroo and a camel), to u-fishing, and to 1/4 mile hike. There really was so many things to do. You could easily spend almost the day there. My husband, 3 year old, and 22 month loved it and all were sad to leave for different reasons. My husband wanted to stay longer because he wanted to fish more, my 3 year old daughter wanted to hug and pet the goats, and my 22 month old son wanted to drive the toddler McLaren car. Unfortunately, it was I who wanted to leave because I had a killer migraine. Suffice to say, we will return on a day where I don't have an all-day migraine so that I have the energy to push my toddler in that car. Parking is plentiful and is free. Restrooms are portapotties. Bring your own lunch and enjoy your time with family!
