Update: after reading other reviews, I wanted to point out that I was NOT asked to leave a review. Or entering part of a raffle when doing this. This is truly a review I have been drafting since I moved in. I read horrible reviews and very few positive ones prior to moving in. I truly enjoyed my time here and want to leave a review that reflects that. This may be my longest review yet so hold on! Before I moved in: super easy website to navigate. Liz was very friendly and helped out. I was looking to move a few months out, so I had time to do my research. (I was looking during Covid - May/ June 2020) Liz worked with me to schedule an apartment tour. She left the door open and let me help myself to the apartment that I could tour. I mean it's a place to live, I was just looking that we had 4 walls up. I LOVED the closet, and decided that day that this would be my home. Application Process: Once again, the website made everything very user friendly. I filled out the application, submitted previous rental history and was pretty much approved. I applied for a 1/1, one of their "older" (non-renovated) apartments. Move in: Picking up keys in the front office was simple. I got the keys and moved in! My dog was obsessed with the dog park. First month: During move in, I filled out paper work to have maintenance fix the bathtub strip, and they were out to my place within hours. Honestly- impressed. I also had issues with our front door not locking. Apparently another delivery vendor had the wires wrong. The maintenance team came out 2 or 3 times until it was ultimately fixed. I loved my neighbors! I had great neighbors who enjoyed my dog and were helpful when I did dumb things, like leave my keys in my door one day! My apartment building was fairly quiet. The bad: some neighbors have dogs that bark ALL day and at any sound of movement. (This is out of the offices control really). Luckily, when your doors are closed, you can barely hear your neighbors. Internet through AT&T was great, you do have to go on your own, but with the fiberoptic cabled internet- it was amazing. The gym: It's what you expect- a fitness center in an apartment complex. I did use it when it was snowing outside and before I got my Y membership. I was looking for a gym to swim in all year. Otherwise, it has a few weight machines, treadmills, bikes, and free weights. The dog park: Is great for my pup! He loves to go and really just runs around. There are hoops to jump through and a tunnel. My dog was more interested in other dogs and playing with the ball. The bad: some people don't pick up their dogs poop, which is a bummer at the park! The gates also had issues, eventually the back one was fixed with a zip tie. The front 2 are still difficult to shut Pets: This is a dog friendly apartment complex! And almost everyone has dogs. I like that they have poop bags available throughout the complex in case you forget yours. The only two problems are the few people who do not pick up their poop & the dog owners who let their dogs off leash. Parking: easy, always parking available. The bad: there is no security in place at all. I had my catalytic converter cut out in the parking lot I was also NOT the only one. There were at least two other cars disabled for a couple months because of this. I also heard of it happening to other people, but didn't see their car disabled for long. It is not gated, anyone can come in, no security cameras. Neighbors: There are kids from the next neighborhood over that come over often and drink and smash bottles in the parking lot. It sucks because you never know what they are going to get into, and my dog walks around and can step on the glass. Once again, no real security here. Trash, I think pick up is on Mondays and Thursdays. With it being an apt complex, many other people come here to dump their stuff, so I recommend taking out your trash on Mondays or Thursdays after it's picked up. Winter: The Great: our sidewalks were always taken care of. There was always a place to walk and it was great. The roads had their moments, and I think it may be a different group that comes in for the roads. I was amazed at how clean our sidewalks were after snowing for hours. Payment: I opted to use their app to pay. There are different charges based on which route you go. I liked being able to pay online whenever I wanted to. Mail/ packages: I never had any issues with missing mail or packages. Bonus: The complex plays bingo for money off rent. They also host cute contests(seasonal / pet related). And really do some cool things for their residents. Checkout: will update soon! I move out in a couple months. Overall, I would recommend this apartment complex to any one. I really had a great experience and never had huge issues that weren't dealt with immediately. I worked with Liz & Erin for multiple items and only had great interactions. read more

I currently live here. I wish I could give this place a 0, but 1 will do. First off, the office managers are awful, they are helpful at the beginning when they want to sign the lease, but when I've complained about various things the only thing they could say was "I'm sorry" and I asked for their supervisor to call me (to which they never did.) Secondly, maintenance is HORRIBLE. They've left messes for ME to clean up after they fixed things (dirt, screws, misplaced items) they also never fully fixed things either. I've had to constantly put in maintenance orders because everything in the apartment is cheap and constantly breaks. In the last year I've lived here I've had 2 leaks in the en-suite bathroom and secondary bedroom, my washer broke and flooded part of the apartment as well as the water heater breaking and leaking. The bathtub constantly clogs, and the paint in both bathtubs (which is obviously they just paint the bathtub every new resident) has peeled off and I asked them to fix it. (I asked them to fix this months ago as well as the leaks and they took 4 months to after me complaining.) One time I was leaving the apartment and the door handle fell off, and much more. Neighbors wise, I've constantly seen and smelt my upstairs neighbors smoking weed to which this complex is supposedly a "no smoking facility" which clearly is not the case. The smell is horrid. You can smell it outside and inside the apartment and down the halls. I live in the 2bed +2bath and I would not recommend this place to anyone. It's overpriced, cheaply built, terrible maintenance and management team, neighbors are okay, the outside is also not taken care of well at all (we have crab apple trees outside the apartment and they fell off the trees and started rotting and flies were flying around them for days.) The grass also isn't treated, we had to stop taking our dog outside because he was constantly getting fleas from the 5 minutes he was outside to go potty. So the grounds is not great either. I do not recommend this complex to anyone. read more

Terrible. Maintenance comes in unannounced. We were Lied to, they said they had Security. Terrible Parking almost always have to park buildings down from where I stay. Moved in a unit 2 years ago and have not been able to use dishwasher at all because of mold and drain issues. Tub Leaks, Sink Leaks, Dishwasher Stays overflowing onto the floor with dirty drain water. This has happened MULTIPLE times. Ceiling about to fall in, placed a request WEEKS ago with property manager, No one ever showed. Mold in apartment, they haven't helped with that either. The Building Hallways are dirty and I clean with my own products. DO NOT MOVE HERE. Everything will be fine for maybe a year, then they stop caring. read more

My rating is 80% about customer service & 20% the apartment. I wish I could give Kathy in the office 100 stars! Such a sweetheart, very knowledgeable & patient. I had a large group with me & she answered all of our questions with a smile. If my move was based solely on her, I would be sold. The unit is beautiful as well, loved how modernly updated everything was, the closed in patio in each, the neighborhood was quiet, PLENTY OF PARKING, no trash in or around the pond area. I guess my one & only complaint is I just wish the unit was a tad bit bigger. read more

I live here now. My dryer went out. They gave me keys to a diff building to use there. come to find out that dryer don't work either. Now I have packed these clothes up and down 3 flights of steps. The 3 time them being soaking wet. The staff does not care. I'm at the laundry mat spending my own money as I type this. read more

The staff is so kind and professional.The grounds are very clean here I felt very safe in my home.Big shout out to matinence they are very prompt with concerns my air was out they were at my home within hr to get me window air conditioner until the big company could come fix it.Ill definitely be staying here every time I have a contract in indy for work. read more

DO NOT move in here. It seems good while you're living there until you get charged for keys you never received, a reglazing of a countertop which was stained when you originally moved in and was told, it's fine. The fury I have with this complex is unreal. I've asked to speak with the property manager MULTIPLE times, yet I have yet to hear from her. While living there, I paid my rent on time, I never complained about anything, and after all of the money I've paid, I can't even get a courtesy call from the property manager?! I dealt with spider and miscellaneous bug infestation every other week. Yeah, they came out to spray, but the seal on this building is worn and outdated, so it continued to be a problem. You consistently hear the conversations of your neighbors through the walls, dogs barking on a regular basis. The total experience, was less than desirable. I wouldn't recommend this complex to any one. Please know that each positive review out here is posted as a result of the complex raffling off money off of your rent for the month. With that type of incentive, who wouldn't post a positive review?! Please... refrain from signing anything with this complex. read more

I've live at lighthouse landings 2 different times for a grand total of 4 years. When I first rented years ago it was about $300 a month cheaper but it seems to be consistently priced with nearby rentals. There was one time I was a student, I was working, it was late, I'd just gotten back from vacation and was headed to a friends house. In loading my car I completely forgot my suitcase just sitting in the dark and drove away from it. It had my passport and $5,000 worth of camera equipment in it. A maintenance man happened to find it, he kept it safe all night and turned it in to management the next morning. It's because of that I came back when I needed an apartment on the south side for a second time. It is no frills, but I have a wood burning fireplace that's really nice in the winter. The pool is great in the summer. When I moved out previously they didn't charge me anything crazy. Staff is friendly and I've never had a problem with them for any reason. Apartment living isn't usually the ideal place to be but if it has to be done I would recommend Lighthouse Landings. read more

This is my second time living at Lighthouse Landing apartments and I couldn't be more pleased! Whenever I have a maintenance issue, they are on top of it...usually that same day! The landscaping on the grounds is very well kept up and right now they are in the process of updating the exterior of all the apartments! DO NOT MOVE HERE IF YOU CARE AT ALL ABOUT YOUR FINANCES. FRONT OFFICE STAFF IS A JOKE! Don't be deceived from their smiling faces and friendly personality when you come and tour these apartments. They are false lies scamming you into signing a death sentence lease. All of the information they give you when you move in regarding breaking lease is fake. They tell you certain information and then charge you way more than they say they will. Signed a year lease, was told if we had to move it would be 2 months rent and that we could do a payment plan. We moved out on 2/21/17. I called mid feb to try and start up a payment plan for the lease fees and was told to wait until we received their "move out packet". Well I received their "move out packet" yesterday and there are a bunch of late fees saying that I didn't pay my rent on time. when bringing it up to Erin in the office she tells us that she never told us not to pay rent. This property is a leach and your the blood. I don't recommend living here. read more

Maintenance always respects my apartment when they are providing service. I love visiting with Erin and Kathy in the office, they are helpful always, and with smiles under those masks! My apartment is so cozy, and am pleasantly surprised at how low my electric bill is compared to my last place. I would highly recommend Lighthouse Landings! read more

Having never lived in an apartment before, I didn't know what to expect. But from what I can tell, Lighthouse Landings is a really great deal for the money. South side apartments are always a little pricey, but Lighthouse Landings seems fair, beyond single spaces, which are barely less than doubles. Not sure what other people feel, but I will say I've never been in such a drafty living space. You will likely be spending a good deal on electricity while living here. Also, water quality is plain awful. Toilets get blackened, faucets scum up and leak, and automatic ice makers in freezers are disgusting. We run a Pur filter into a Brita pitcher just to get reasonable drinking water. The shower has dried out my skin to a constant itch, though it's not quite as sticky-hard as a bad hotel's water. Location is great for people who want to be downtown regularly or avoid it. I work downtown and it's an easy commute. I travel regularly south and it's nice being so close to major highways to get places fast. I'm moving shortly, but my last two years spent here have been pretty great for a first place. Even wth the draft and water, I feel lucky to have had this apartment practically fall in my lap. read more

This is the first apartment I have ever rented, and this is the best apartment I could have ever asked for. I love my apartment, the staff are super friendly and helpful, the location is great, and I feel like I get my money's worth. I've lived here for 4 months now, and plan on renewing my lease when the time comes. My only compliant is that my dishwasher isn't the best. I've put in a maintenance request, they've looked at it, and it works, but there is still food everywhere and my dishes in the top rack are never clean. read more

Lighthouse Landings is conveniently located. The staff are very nice and responsive when it comes to maintenance issues. Furthermore, any issue that I have had has been handled quickly and efficiently. The grounds are very clean and everyone is super respectful. All of the residents in my building are very quiet. Everyone generally keeps to themselves which is very nice in my opinion. I would recommend this complex to anyone looking to be close to INDY, but not wanting to pay what it costs to live in INDY. A lot of residents commute to Bloomington from this complex and the drive isn't that bad even with construction. It's got a great mix of younger and older people and very close to Kroger, CVS, Walmart, and Target isn't too far away. read more

I wouldn't trust the positive reviews here. Lighthouse will not respond to month old maintenance requests however they send frequent emails offering a chance for $100 off rent for "non anonymous" reviews on apartmentratings google or yelp. See attached picture. With the cost of rent being so high maintenance should be available as needed. The grounds are not kept well at all. There are goose and dog droppings all over the property. Despite being in a nonsmoking unit our hallway constantly smells like cigarette smoke. I will be moving out as soon as my lease ends. read more

DO NOT recommend. We had a fairly good experience until it came to renewing our lease as well as the move out process. They INCREASED our rent by 150$ in a year and a half, on top of that the apartments inside and out are outdated, the windows and doors are not sealed well, there are animals CONSTANTLY barking or being left out on their balconies, and they are doing NOTHING to increase the worth of the property. ON TOP of all that, they we scrubbed our apartment top to bottom before moving out and they proceeded to charge us for "carpet replacement" when the carpet is in the SAME exact shape it was in previously. I currently live at Lighthouse Landings and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place in the Indianapolis/Greenwood area. The apartment complex is close to downtown Indianapolis without paying downtown rates. The apartment office staff works to create a neighborhood environment in the complex that I really appreciate. The maintenance staff is one of the best I have encountered while living in an apartment (about 4 in the past 5 years) - they fix issues expeditiously and get it right on the first try. - Cost effective, you get a good amount of space for the price. - Maintenance crew is usually pretty quick and effective. One issue to note though: - There was an issue with a pipe leaking our very first night after running a bath that reoccurred later because it wasn't fixed properly. They say it's fixed now but I've been too scared of flooding my downstairs neighbor for a third time to try to run a bath yet. - Area is generally pretty safe. There have been a few incidents, none that I was directly involved with thankfully, but the staff always took the proper measures and communicated openly about the events. - Appliances (washer, dryer, dishwasher) are fairly old and not great, that's a huge con for me. - Front staff is always helpful and friendly, whether I go into the office or email them. One issue to note: - Someone dumped their litter box outside of the building like a dumb dumb and I was accused by the staff. There was no evidence and they quickly backed off when I asked if they wanted to take a look at my litter box, as I don't use the type of little that was dumped and am not the type of person that would do something so lazy and disrespectful. I have no proof but I wonder if they were just trying a less-than-ethical way of figuring out who had done it. - Good location, very close to 465, Kroger, and Southwestway Park. - Not very well insulated so electric bills are pretty high year round. Overall it's a pretty good place to live. Not perfect, but no place is. Most of the reviews I've seen mention issues while moving out, so that's fun to look forward to. Communication was lacking about reconstruction initially. Very pleased with the new look and the communication to residents continues to improve by using multiple methods. Space is wonderful in the 2 bedroom one bath apartment, lots of storage. Very dog friendly, fitness happy, and so many other accommodations including new outdoor furniture, recycling units, and new bark park toys. read more

I just moved in a two bedroom/one bathroom apartment back at the end of January and so far I love it!! I have a "lake" view. My cat loves to go out on the screened-in porch. I work in Bloomington so I hop right onto 37 South and it takes me about 50 minutes. It is worth it though. I am so excited for Spring and Summer so that I can enjoy the pool. With all of the robberies and people breaking in apartments and homes, it is nice to have the outside security doors in order to get into the building. I highly recommend Lighthouse Landings. It seems there are some negative reviews, but my advice would be to ask all the necessary questions so that you are well aware of what to expect. I plan to stay another year as long as the rent doesn't increase too much. The rent is a very good price for what you get. I had to pay close to the same in Bloomington and the apartment I lived in was a dump. read more

I've lived at complex since May of 2016. Management is horrible to their tenants. Units have screened porches and the doors on the porch falls apart. They are falling apart all over the complex. My 2nd one just fell apart and I made request to have it replaced. To my surprise management put a fee charge of $100 for a new screen door on my rent. I was told the door is not meant to be used as a primary door and since this is the 2nd one their replacing I'm being hit with the replacement cost because of misuse. I've talked to their upper management and they agree, door was damaged because of misuse and fee to replace will be extended to my rent. My question to management is, if my water heater goes out a couple of times during my stay will they claim I'm using too much hot water this misusing the water heater. Will they attach that fee to my rent? I'm a single 55 year old male. I go to work and come home. I have very few visitors so I don't use any of my doors very much. Please, If you're thinking about moving here you can confirm I'm not making this up, drive around the complex and pay attention to the screen patio doors. Most are falling off the hinges. Please ask whoever your leasing agent is if they have been dealing with a patio screen door of one of their tenants. See what they say. BEWARE of moving here. Management bad!!! DON'T DO IT!!! I currently live here, the rent is cheap for a reason!!! Your electric bill will be $70+ as the buildings aren't insulated properly. Also, you will have maintenance in your apartment often as almost everything in them is old and poorly maintained. Spend a little more on rent somewhere else. read more

If you have never read a review before you HAVE TO READ THIS ONE. DO NOT MOVE HERE! Here is a list of reasons why. We tried to be loyal residents but they raise the price so much each year it is ridiculous. The hallway to our apartment smells like trash water pretty much all of the time. Our entire apartment smells like weed because of our neighbors. Maintenance = A BIG FAT JOKE. They told us it is okay that it takes us 5 times to dry our towels in our dryer. We also had mold growing on our ceiling in the bathroom due to the people that live above us let their toilet overflow. It took them an entire week to come out and fix the mold. There is dog poop EVERYWHERE outside...good luck walking around anywhere. Also, if you file a maintenance request and call the staff out for not fixing i you are all of a sudden "hated". Management is rude and condenscending. Maintenence is not much better. I would recommend you really think twice before living here. They need to remember that if it weren't for the residents, they WOULD'NT have jobs!! They charge for everything. Can't get anything fixed the first time. Head of maintenence thinks he's the gustopo! I came to rent a 2 bedroom apartment here in lighthouse landings in Indiana about a year ago signing a 13 month lease. Coming to the end of our lease we plan on moving out due to job relocation. When I went to the office last week to pick up a package I was informed that I needed to give 60 day notice in order to be released from my apartment. Granted this notice is stated in my lease, I was in complete shock that nobody notified me about this. I have received numerous notes on my door regarding everything from maintenance, renters insurance, security issues etc. but nothing referring to this 60 days notice. I believe this is bad business and I feel as though I have been tricked into paying another $2000 to this apartment complex. The office informed me that they were sorry and that they tried to contact me and my phone was not accepting phone calls. This is hard to believe considering my number has never changed and this is the only event in which they couldn't get ahold of me. Not to mention the multitude of letters that have been attached to my door over the past 12 months. In this past year some unfortunate events have occurred and I consulted with the office staff about paying the lease out about 6 months ago. Since it was not financially possible I decided to finish out the year. I feel as though the office staff knew I could not stay at this location and needed to move and still "forgot" to inform me about about the 60 written notice that is needed to release this apartment. I will never rent from a goldoller estate again and will notify anyone considering a goldoller estate that it conducts unfair business to its residents. Bad businessman read more
