So, I've been here three times in the past week, and I gotta tell you, kids: Dr. Ron is just the best. He does everything here, and manages to keep a friendly yet profesh attitude without breaking a sweat. I came in with neck and shoulder pain that I've been carrying around with me for more than a year. I also felt fatigued and at least twice my age. Dr. Ron took his time during the consult, chatted with me about everything from my regular activity to my stress level to my diet, and then we went from there. It was love at first crack: I was aligned. Finally! He's so gentle that there is absolutely no pain or discomfort, and he talks to you all the way through the adjustments so you know what's happening and what to expect. In addition to the adjustments, he spoke to me about breathing exercises to help with my shoulder, taking vitamin supplements to help with the fatigue, and even convinced me to eat more red meat as it may be really important for my blood type, as it turns out. I really like this holistic, drug-free approach to healing, and really do feel so much better than I did a mere four days ago. Dr. Ron is the best! My hips were out of alignment after giving birth and pinched a leg nerve in the process. My obstetrician recommended Dr. Ron and within 6 sessions he was able to correct my hip & back issues and no more pinched nerve! Dr. Tyszkowski is a magician. I've had low back problems for years: Extreme stiffness, back spasms, and hip and knee problems all due to a number of work-related issues and lifestyle issues, and after a few weeks of visits I already feel almost completely fixed. Dr. T is knowledgeable, personable, professional, and has a comprehensive approach to total-body wellness and health. He's got an array of custom-made equipment that I haven't seen at other chiropractic offices, all of which is very effective. I also found his technique to be surprisingly gentle for how effective it is. I never felt throughout the manipulations that he was going to crack something too far, or twist in a dangerous way. Lastly, don't let the business' unimpressive facade fool you. It's located in a strip mall with no sign and only an 8.5x11 sheet of paper on the door, and I'll admit my first impression was to be a little skeeved out. Couldn't have been more wrong. Last week, I hurt my back worse than I ever have before. It hurt to stand up and each step sent shooting pain up my heel to my lower back. 24 hours after the injury (I will not reveal how I injured myself but I will say that I have a new found respect for how much empty milk cartons weigh) I hobbled into the the Dr's office. Dr. Ron was thorough and honest - he gave me a couple tweaks and advice to ice my back with the warning I probably wouldn't feel much better that day, I came back the next day and got a very good adjustment. 3 adjustments later I'm just about as good as new. I even got a couple neck adjustments and that's feeling better already too. I can't recommend him more highly for treatment. The parking lot does confuse me - why do they have parking places where I can be blocked in? I think Dr. Ron should adjust that - see what I did there? read more

I woke up one day last week and couldn't move my neck or shoulders! I could barely get out of bed and as the day went on it just got worse with the pain radiating into my arm. I'm only 26 and this had never happened to me before, I figured I must have slept in a strange position and it would go away but the next morning it felt even worse. I hurt my lower back really bad. I called Lighthouse and they were able to get me in that day! The receptionist was very empathetic and Dr. Ron used the most minimally invasive techniques to ease my back into place. He was honest and straightforward, describing to me in an easy to understand way what was happening, when I would feel better and that ice would help. I have been to many chiropractors who crack you all over and do not resolve the pain or injury. This was not my experience with Dr. Ron. He focused on where the pain was and healed the injury. Dr Ron is wonderful! I first saw him in 2011 when pregnant with twins to help with the back problems from my first pregnancy. He was so kind and sensitive to the issues going on with the twins while also taking care of my back. I recently returned to him after hurting my hip while running. Without childcare I had to bring all 3 young kids and he was incredibly kind and patient with them, while also taking care of me. He showed them all of his tools and answered all of their questions. My wife and I started seeing Dr. Ron on the advice of Kerry Taylor, the owner of Punch Gym Rumford (the Kettlebell gym where we have been working out for about 18 months.) We had been seeing another chiropractor for almost 10 years and never really made any progress with some recurring injuries. When Kerry recommended "The Kettlebell Doctor" it seemed like a no brainer. Both of us were amazed when we saw results after the first visit. I have to give a big thank you to the previous reviewers since Yelp is the way I found Lighthouse Chiropractic and at the risk of sounding dramatic, it changed my life. I was rear ended pretty badly 5 months ago and went to an orthopedic doctor for 3 months while doing PT. It didn't help much for pain and when I went back to work, being on my feet for 8+ hours took its toll on me. A coworker suggested seeing a chiropractor. I looked on Yelp and called Lighthouse after seeing the reviews. They scheduled me right away. I could already feel a difference after one visit, but now that it's been a month, the difference is incredible. Dr. Ron is a miracle worker. I saw Dr. West for some trigger point injections as well and have high hopes that they will help even more. Both Dr. Ron and Dr. West spent more time assessing what would work best for me in one visit than my orthopedic doctor did in 3 months. Everyone there is warm and accommodating. While chiropractors still get poo poo'ed by traditional medicine, Dr. T brought me relief I couldn't get from MDs, neuromuscular therapy, massage or physical therapy. I had a massage yesterday from James McGuire at Dr. Ron Tyszkowski's office. I have been enjoying massage the last forty years. Usually, massage is so relaxing I fall asleep. James said, "no one falls asleep during one of my massages." And he's absolutely correct. James practices a form of massage I'd never heard of before called Tui Na that is a form of acupressure combined with deep tissue and other modes. I don't mean to scare anyone off but it hurts! I really like deep tissue massage and it hurt. James was great, he helped me breath through it, which actually made me feel like I was participating in the massage and also that I'd accomplished something by getting through the pain. Often after a deep massage, I feel sore. After James' massage I felt lighter and not at all sore. After most massages I want to go home and take a nap. After James' massage I felt like I could go to an aerobics class or a bike ride; I was ready to take on the world! James said that this type of massage is great to have once a month or every six weeks; it's terrific for arthritis, which I have, and at this stage in my life, everyday aches and pains. I'm planning on making these massages a part of my health routine. For the record, I have been a patient of Dr. Ron's for fifteen or so years. I consider him a friend and I feel that he cares about my good health. I have a feeling he has lots of faithful followers. He knows his stuff. He is on staff at Women's and Infants Hospital, he's had papers published on chiropractic practices, he has a warm heart and a great smile. I know Dr. Ron's "got my back." read more

I was referred to Dr. Ron from a friend of mine. Let me start by saying, I was a bit anxious because I felt I was going to be a fairly tough case to treat. Since having a c-section over a year ago, I developed pain in my shoulder that was progressing over the months. Over the past month or so, the pain got so severe at times that I wasn't able to raise my arm comfortably or lift anything heavy using that arm. My primary care physician told me I needed to enter into a physical therapy routine and that it would be a lot of work (not to mention time that I just don't have!) I decided to revisit the idea of chiropractic with the hope that perhaps I just needed a good adjustment (I think any woman who has gone through a pregnancy would agree that's a lot of stress on the back!). Dr. Ron was able to accurately identify a technique we could try and we both crossed our fingers that it would show some progress. Amazingly, absolutely amaaaaaazingly....it worked. I can raise my arm without pain, and though I'm still doing some exercisises to reach my full range of motion, I am absolutely amazed at this progress, which I recognize as a huge, huge improvement.
