I think lighthouse Pizza is an underrated pizza and bar in the northwest Omaha corner of town. If you're looking for big beers and bake flavors, this is the place to be and they have weekly specials. That are really good. We came in for burger night 799 for a big burger is a great deal. Can't even get that at fast food these days the burger was super good and then I opted for a Hawaiian personal pizza and OMG I am still thinking about this pizza. It was the perfect mix of Canadian bacon, pineapple, and a sweet marinara sauce. The drink specials were 299 Long Island and they were pretty strong and then I got a big Bud Light it was excellent service. Could've been a little better, but it was a busy night with given the burger special but we will definitely be back. I am still thinking about that pizza. read more

You have to be careful and observant for when you get charge here. Make sure you keep your receipts because it seems she likes to over charge or over tip. Luckily I have my digital initial receipt. Lighthouse burgers are incredible! Our server recommended the Buffalo burger. I wasn't really in the mood for a Buffalo burger but she had me sold. I'm glad I ordered it! The burger was grilled in Buffalo sauce. It had so much flavor and it was topped with cheese and ranch! It was amazing!! I'm definitely going back for another. Our continued search for a Taco Tuesday spot close to home brought us to the Lighthouse in a strip mall on the Northwest corner of Maple and 156th. We have visited the Lighthouse near Tiburón but for some unknown reason we were not aware of this location. Located in the far west corner of the strip mall the Lighthouse is easy to miss unless you frequent the preschool or other neighboring business offices. On a Tuesday evening there was one booth left, we grabbed it, and an assortment of open tables. Our waitress provided menus and drinks quickly and gave us a little time to look over the menu. We both ordered two crispy $1.50 beef tacos, and shared a basket of chips and salsa. The salsa tasted like a canned variety but the chips were warm and thin like we like them. Our tacos were good--although both of mine cracked down the middle on my first bite spilling out most of the filling. My husband had better luck with little to no breakage. Mine ended up being more of a taco salad--but I like taco salad. Our server was great--friendly, quick and knowledgeable! We were only five minutes from home. We set at a table on the west side of the bar and the less desirable bar tender comes over says we don't have silverware can I take your drink order. We order she brings them then order food. We sat for over 45 minutes no food no explanation. The good gal comes in to work brings out silverware and starts wrapping them. Another group come in 20 minutes after we did have ate and are leaving when we finally get our food. Which the other girl brought out. My wife asked who gets the tip? She said the other girl. We have gone here twice in the last month. The first time, service was okay, but one of the bartender/waitresses was quite short with us. Making comments like "WOW, you are slow drinkers" and "I shouldn't have closed your order since you decided to order something else." Food was not good. Fries were excellent, but my BLT was wilted and had no flavor. My husband had a ham and cheese melt. It came on a hoagie bun with cheese and we are not sure exactly what the meat was. It seemed like maybe some ham but then there was something crispy and kind of burned...maybe pepperoni. We were finished and paid. My husband decided he was still hungry and wanted some onion rings. Hence, we got the comment above. Onion rings were great. So, with the onion rings being so good and my husband craving them tonight, he went back in. He ordered them, along with a beer. Got his beer and waited and waited and waited. He finally asked an the server/bartender said she put them in wrong. After she corrected this, they finally came. They came out with a thimble of ranch. When my husband inquired, the comment was "Yep, that small as most people don't use it." He said, he does and asked for about 4 more of the very, very small ranches. When she brought them out, she said "Here you go, but just so you know that will be an extra $5.00 for the ranch." When my husband said, "What?" She said, "Yes, it is 1.25 per container." Lighthouse is one of those bars in west Omaha I feel like a lot of people don't know about (although I could be wrong). However, if people tried the pizza and wings, they would be sure to go back again! I went with a group of 5 people on New Years Day to watch the bowl games. It's a quaint, typical-looking sports bar with tables, dart boards, and tvs everywhere. It was perfect. They had fantastic beer specials ($4 for domestic giant mugs) as well as a phenomenal selection of other great apps, pizzas, entrees and much more. Oh, if you love wings, get them char-buffed! We ate at the 132nd & Center location for lunch on a Taco Tuesday. It's a typical sports bar vibe with lots of TV screens. The waitress was attentive and pleasant. The prices were good. The $3.50 Margaritas tempted us and we ordered a lime one "on the rocks". My expectations were low, yet it didn't even meet that. They were simply awful and undrinkable. Neither of us drank our margarita. There was no flavor and no detectable alcohol. We complained to the waitress and she apologized and said she would tell the bar, but wouldn't take them off the bill. We ordered tacos and I tried both the crispy beef taco and the beef soft shell taco. They were just MEH. The taco sauce came in the foil packets like Taco Bell's but not nearly as good. The best part of the meals was the onion rings we ordered on the side. They were huge, hand breaded and just plain good. I can't recommend Lighthouse for meals. We were taking a road trip through Nebraska and had originally not planned to visit this bar. But the tagline on its web site, "Omaha's Only Five Star Dive Bar!", intrigued us so we decided to check it out. This is a very hard bar to find and get to. We'd never have spotted it had we not known exactly where to look. From eastbound Maple it required two very congested left turns, then a parking lot maze that took us around the back of a strip mall in order to get us around to the far side where the bar's entrance was. It was still a little early on this Saturday, so we were the only customers. The bartender took a break from his cleaning duties to sit and chat with us, and we watched part of the movie "Cocktail". The bar is a square in the middle of the room. There's a few video games and several TVs. I don't remember if there's a pool table. All in all, it's a pretty typical suburban bar, but it's not bad. I'd call it more of a sports bar than a dive bar, though. read more

Not sure why this place has so many bad reviews. Went in on a Thursday night not too long ago for the first time and absolutely loved it. Good drinks. Personable wait staff (loved Kat, she was all over it). My wife and I loved it. Seems like a great "regular" crowd where everyone knows each other and enjoys socializing. Nothing makes me more angry as a customer than seeing two girls cover a completely packed restaurant, and then watch a managerial member just peak his head out for a second, use the restroom, waltz around for a second and then go back to his office. At the time we came, almost everyone in the restaurant had their food, so I'm not really guessing that the manager was back there running food or expo-ing (especially given the fact that I saw the TWO servers working in the restaurant hauling ass for at least 90 minutes straight. No excuses! Be a leader! Even though my server was great (and attentive as she could be), I will not be back until the management can show some support to those poor girls up front. Walked in recently to try their "famous wings" after 1 of our party questioned the owner about the warm / expired bottle of beer he was drinking we were told to leave. Owner has a history of storing alcohol at his rental house in SW Omaha to serve his patrons. Food is okay but fruit flies, warm beer, and sewage back up in bathrooms is not okay. Waited 30 minutes for someone to come to the table. Ended up going to the bar to order, server kept coming over to check what we ordered. Then waited another hour for food to come. No food is worth waiting an hour and a half for. Server was rude and kept blaming that it was busy. Not worth it and would have left if it wasn't for the group I was with. There are tons of other places in Omaha with friendly servers, good food, and served in a timely manner. My husband and I have gone to this bar and grill about four times now. It's larger than it appears on the outside, a lot of TVs, and some bar games. However each time, our service is terrible. We have given this place several chances because it's so close to our house, which is very convenient. Their food is also pretty good. If it wasn't for the service, we would give this place five stars. Our most recent visit, we arrived at about 4 on a Sunday afternoon, not even a third of the way full inside. We didn't receive water or menus for over a half an hour. My husband waited a very very long time for keno, and then when he brought the tickets back they were wrong. I tried to get our waitresses attention, but that did not work. She walked by and didn't even look at our table. One guy and a party of about four people came in after us and were served faster than we were, but not by much. Finally when we were about ready to leave, the waitress gave us menus. I wanted to leave because I was so livid, but my husband said since we were so hungry we might as well stay and eat. The issue is that the waitress is also the bartender and also the person that delivers the food to the tables and also the person that does keno and cleans up the tables after people leave. There was one person in charge of everything. At first I felt bad for her, but it was clear that she just couldn't manage what she had and didn't go that extra mile. She wasn't on her phone or anything, but she would leave the bar and go back in the kitchen for 5 or 10 minutes at a time, and come back with nothing in her hand. Our wings came out in just about 30 minutes, which is pretty lengthy for wings especially when the restaurant was not full at all. Food was great, but service really ruined the experience. The bottom line is that they need more help. They need to care a little bit more. To be honest, we didn't feel like they wanted our business. This is very much a shame because the establishment itself is pretty neat, and the food is great. Hopefully they can figure this out so that they can keep people coming in. I'm not here to tell you this isn't a hole in the wall dive bar. It is. The surprising fact to be gleaned; ** amazing wings** -and by that I mean, some of the best, most flavorful, succulent chicken wings I have ever had. -awesome sauce options (mild is pretty spicy so I wouldn't explore the "spicy" unless your into that) -quality meat that brings as much to the table as the sauce. -charred option where the wings are thrown on the grill after being fried (best invention) Long Island ice tea was sweet and crowd was mediocre but great dart setup and plenty of Large TVs to watch football on. read more

Let's start this off the right way with the positives - since everyone knows a fair and balanced review is beneficial for all those who read this (trust me I watch Fox News). Well that about concludes the positive section... My boyfriend about ripped the door off its hinges due to the combination of hunger and excitement. We conducted a few head swivels to scope out the joint, and turned to gaze at one another to give our nod of approval. We plopped down at one of the many vacant tables and anxiously awaited our server. And waited. And waited. Then we waited. After waiting, we waited a bit more. Finally, we took it upon ourselves and brought our positive attitudes up to the bar to try and sneak in an order prior to the conclusion of happy hour. Unfortunately, their was only one server/bartender who we could only deduct also doubled as the cook, busser, janitor, hostess, bouncer. She was too busy with her other five individuals sipping on libations to notice us but luckily we flailed our arms long enough to catch her peripheral vision. We put in our order and sat down to salivate for what we assumed would be about 15 minutes until our food would arrive. My boyfriend absolutely could not wait until his two happy hour personal pizzas got delivered, but alas, he did have to wait. Around 45 minutes give or take later, the superwoman finally appeared with our food. She set down my wings and what looked like 2 hockey pucks for my boyfriend. Granted, those happy hour pizzas were only $5 but he'd rather buy actual hockey pucks for that price to display in his bar at home than these 'pizzas'.
