We also ordered the combination pizza with heirloom tomatoes, mushrooms and bacon bits. The pizza was baked in wood fire oven outside. Overall it was a pleasant visit. I just wish we had better weather.

When we first got to the winery, at the parking lot, we had a little fun encounter with a dog owner who was trying to get his new puppy out of the cars she was hiding underneath in. After we successfully got the puppy out (thank goodness!), us and the dog owner just had the most amazing time chatting inside the bar area of the winery. It was such a beautifully decorated speakeasy. Not only the wine collection was tasty, the hostess LA was super friendly + attentive. We felt like we were just hanging out with some long time friends there and hours gone by just like that! I have been to many wineries, big and small, and although a "small batch" winery is usually better…read morethan the big box brands selling to the LCBO, I was disappointed as this was the first time introducing my in-laws to the whole experience. First off, while the lady hosting our tasting was very knowledgeable, her delivery was regimented and military. The tasting itself was advertised as a "splash", six for $20. When they say a splash, it's literally one gulp and a half. Really the smallest tasting I've ever seen, especially for the price and totally not worth it unless you are serious about buying a bottle. The kicker is that they only waive the tasting fee if you spend more than $200. I guess that can't be too difficult considering their best selling wines go for $80 a bottle! Although we did end up buying a very good bottle and enjoyed it, I would rather support a winery where I don't feel like I'm being ripped off the whole time. Even the grounds were sparse, boring and really nothing special considering how precious their wine is. I was embarrassed to have brought people that had never been to a winery before to this particular place. We will not be returning and would not recommend if you are looking for the complete winery experience.

Service was good while we were there and I would recommend visiting this winery over the others in the area mainly because there's such a great variety here.

So, our answer was a road trip to Belleville for lunch with Step Mom (thanks for coming out! That was great to celebrate in person!) at a restaurant we had not tried yet, in the south end; not as busy as downtown. After lunch, we parted ways with Step Mom, and drove, and drove and drove... and ended up in Prince Edward County - where we were directed to by the CAA in Belleville to visit the wine trail. Ok - truth here: we're going to have to spend a few days or a week on this trail! There's such a lot to see!! We ended up stopping at a microbrewery to pick up a 6 or 8-pack, then found this Winery. They were pretty close together so that was easy. I picked up a bottle of wine. My only disappointment was that we didn't get to try the wine before choosing it. They offer samplings for a nominal fee (was it $5?), which would be refunded if you bought a bottle of wine. Wines offered were in the $25 range. For a change, I chose a white wine, although I usually prefer red. The winery is quite pretty! There's a lot going on here, and I can imagine it would be quite the place, hopping with energy, prior to COVID restrictions. I will keep tabs on this spot and further restrictions, and possibly update my review once I've tried the wine. Thanks for the blissful day!
