Sandbanks Winery is passionate with their wines! The staff here host an awesome wine tasting experience with a group of 20 of us. A little history of the area, the winery and of course a taste of various wines! The ground here is beautiful and well kept! I can imagine myself sipping on a glass of wine and just wander around. Definitely one of the best wineries in the PEC area and worth a stop.

    AMAZING STUFF. Limited quantities

Probably one of my favourite wineries in the Price Edward County area. Went here with some friends over the summer for a wine tour and we had an amazing time here. The wine tour here is super interactive and there are different stations where a different employee would explain a specific wine, some interesting facts about it, and also provide a sample of wine to taste. They also provide a small piece of food (e.g. chocolate, popcorn, cheese) that is meant to be a complimentary food for that specific wine. The wine tour also shows a high level process of how the wine is made from start to finish. Overall, a very great experience and I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to experience a wine tour in an interactive way. As part of the wine tour, you are also given a Sandbanks branded wine glass which you can take home! They wrap it up for you in the gift shop before you leave. Oh and the Apple Wine here is amazing stuff - it's in limited quantities and not available at LCBOs so definitely grab some if they are available. I'm definitely coming back here in the future. In terms of COVID protocols, this winery takes adequate measures. All the employees are wearing masks (and they encourage the guests to wear masks as well) and the different stations are spaced out to maintain appropriate social distancing.

Sandbanks Winery was the first stop on a recent wine tour of the region. I had no idea there were so many wineries in this area. We sampled several wines in their barrel room, not the main building. Our host(s) led us through the tasting with a brief explanation of each wine and also provided some background on the winery. Very interesting. I don't normally shop for Ontario wines but I have a preference for their whites over their reds. That remained true with the wines that we sampled here. That doesn't mean that any of them were bad, I just have my preferences. I actually quite liked one of the whites that was a little on the sweeter side but would be great for sipping on a hot summer day. It was refreshing. It's a pity I can't remember the name of it. Silly me should have taken a picture of the bottle, like I normally do. Duh! Along with the wines, there were samples of locally produced sausages and spreads. The sausages and one of the mustards were really good. Wandering through and around their main building, there were lots of areas set up for tastings and their store was very well stocked. Nicely done.

This is the largest winery in the area. There were multiple tasting bars with a private room upstairs for group tastings. Cost of tasting is free if you purchase 2 bottles of wine. Selection was quite extensive with multiple whites and reds along with a few selections of Rose, sparkling and dessert wines. They also have a selection of cheeses, sausage, accessories and apparel available for purchase as well. The staff were friendly, pleasant and knowledgeable. The place was quite busy on Saturday but there was no wait because there were several tasting bars with 2-3 people behind the bar.

OBSESSED!!! The two sisters doing wine tastings were so helpful and knowledgeable. If you're into dessert wines, Late Harvest is absolutely amazing! Perfect blend of ripened peach and honey. They also deliver in Ontario for free when you purchase 4 bottles or more (and trust me you won't be purchasing less than that) My new favourite winery, can't wait to go back!

This is so far the best Winery that I have visited in prince Edward County. The atmosphere outside was great, with chairs to relax and drink some wine. Late harvest was my favourite wine that I sampled and purchased. Friendly testing wine staff that went over and above explain the different wines. In fact one staff mixed us a blend of two different blends that she personally loves. Can't wait to go back!!

Entre Nous Foch Reserve Red Wine

Really amazing Winery. We went for a tasting that we reserved ahead of time. We were sent over to a covered bar area, and Chloe greeted us immediately and explained the process. She was extremely helpful with the types of wine and very genuine with her explanations and recommendations. We went through the list and tried a good amount of whites, reds and rosé's. Our favourite white was the Bay Of Quinte Apple Wine (this was very sweet and cider-like) but really yummy. Our favourite red was the Entre Nous Foch Reserve, very full body and tasted jammy. We also had the pizza, and tried two different ones. The prosciutto & arugula pizza, and the pepperoni julienne, both were delicious and made rather quickly. One surprise was that this winery was dog friendly (outside), so we will definitely consider bringing our dog next time. There is lots of seating and additional seating if you walk through the vineyard towards the house on the property. Overall we really enjoyed our experience and would definitely come back! Thanks Sandbanks!

Actually my fave thing from here is their grape juice - it's absolutely delicious! I definitely recommend you picking up a few bottles as this is the way grape juice should taste. It makes you realize exactly how crappy the stuff in the stores are. They generally have 3-4 of reds/whites to try - you pay for the tasting but if you buy something then you don't. The property is gorgeous and so relaxing. The old world barn, the views outside are amazing. This is definitely a great stop on your PEC adventure.

Atmosphere Driving up the lane way to this vineyard, you will notcie that you are driving around a pioneer cemetery. Some of the stones go way back. You keep walking thru the cemetery and down the path to a really old barn where you will walk up the barn bridge and into this rustic establishment. The owner will be waiting with a smile and sample. The Wine 2007 Chenin Blanc $24 This is my personal favourite. Their notes include: A dry, refreshing wine with its distinct salty minerality and crisp lemon finish. Great with seafood. 2007 Pinot Noir $26 Their notes: Our best Pinot yet--delicate and refined, layered with cherry, pepper and toasty oak. Just a note about 2007 - its one of the best years in the past decade for wine in Ontario. You can't go wrong.

It's a really lovely space as it uses what may be an old barn (but refurbished) and there's a very large event space upstairs, and downstairs is where you'll meet customer service and the wine selection. They have a great outdoor seating area and a really nice outdoor space with a mini creek running through it. I'm not sure if they specialize in Gamays or not, but they have a few. My wife really enjoys the Chardonnay - specifically the one aged in the steel barrel. Naturally you'd probably do a tasting before purchasing here, but regardless I'd recommend it as you can get quite different tastes even from the same type of wine depending on the vintage, barrel and other factors. They have a few sweets you can pick up and they also have a stone wood-fired oven for pizza. Lovely spot all around with some great wine - and pizza, makes this a can't-miss stop on any PEC wine tour.
