We then stopped by the restaurant and ordered oysters, paired with a glass of Norman Hardie white wine. The oysters are imported 3 days a week from PEI. The oysters were medium sized and tasted very fresh. The restaurant had plenty of outside seating (and is dog friendly!), with a rustic feel to it. The winery itself was beautiful. We loved our time at Norman Hardie and would definitely recommend it!

The tasting room attendant was cheerful and friendly, telling us about each of the wines and sharing some of her favourites. I had six samples in total: the 2013 Windward White Blend (which would be great with spicy food), the 2014 Pinot Gris, the "Friend's Rose" (which is the one I bought - it was bright pink, with lots of berry and some rhubarb, a definite afternoon sipper), the 2013 St. Laurent, the 2013 Gamay Noir and the 2012 Meritage. Tastings were, I believe, $1/sample but they were waived with purchase. This is an environmentally friendly, solar powered winery with a sustainable mindset! It's not as fancy as some of the ones you'll visit in the county, but I think it just adds to the charm.

It's a really lovely space as it uses what may be an old barn (but refurbished) and there's a very large event space upstairs, and downstairs is where you'll meet customer service and the wine selection. They have a great outdoor seating area and a really nice outdoor space with a mini creek running through it. I'm not sure if they specialize in Gamays or not, but they have a few. My wife really enjoys the Chardonnay - specifically the one aged in the steel barrel. Naturally you'd probably do a tasting before purchasing here, but regardless I'd recommend it as you can get quite different tastes even from the same type of wine depending on the vintage, barrel and other factors. They have a few sweets you can pick up and they also have a stone wood-fired oven for pizza. Lovely spot all around with some great wine - and pizza, makes this a can't-miss stop on any PEC wine tour.

There are a variety of seating options from hammocks and high tables to a lounge area, and picnic tables where you can play games. Trayon is unique in that offers organic wine, with the fermentation proceeds also being organic. Most of their wines have a tartness to them. Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable about the organic wine making process and was able to answer all our questions in detail. I ordered the wine slushy which was perfectly refreshing for a warm day. I also ordered a glass of Inclusion Orange and enjoyed it so much that I purchased a bottle. I will definitely be back!

We would have given it a 5 star but our 6 person party all had a lot of confusion and felt violated by the taco pricing policy. 2 tacos were $12. And 2 of different kinds of tacos were $24. It makes no sense. The servers were rude and clear it would take 12-15 minutes for a taco (it was not busy). Traynor- we'd love you but your taco stand tainted our experience. The table behind us are also complaining. Enough said. Wait, there was just even more confusion behind us- wrong orders. Complaining about too many orders. There are only two tables on the patio. Please fix this!!! Wait, we just reviewed receipt and we paid for tastings AND the bottle we bought. Most places will waive the fee if you buy bottle. We had high hopes and the owners wife is lovely- business process needs some work. All for the wine. Zero for dine.
