This will be a copy-paste from the Balwyn North store, as the review is applicable to both! Light Space Yoga is a relatively new-ish yoga studio situated in the otherwise minimally yoga-serviced suburbs of Mitcham and Balwyn North. Beautiful in design, they are quite cookie-cutter in their gorgeous simplicity, reminiscent of other architecturally-designed, light-filled, ply-wood clad nouveau yoga studios of Melbourne. But, if something has been done well before somewhere else, why not do it again somewhere new! And the team at Light Space DO it very well. Peaceful, slow-paced, the studios are upstairs, and as you do your tree-pose you'll find yourself gazing ahead at the trees themselves, a lovely change from some of the inner-city studios. There are lovely touches about too, a little reading area with books, a free organic fruit bowl.. at an easter vinyasa class we arose from our shavasana to find the easter-bunny had come and delivered us all wee chocolate eggs and aphorism cards (that cheeky bunny!!)! The teachers are really great, the classes are exactly what I was after (vinyasa and yin), and you can expect gentle music in your class, in a room with the lingering scent of nag champa and to be roused from your corpse pose by the ringing of a singing bowl. If you're in these areas, or you can get to them, I would highly recommend Light Space. I wish I was still living closer so I could keep going!! read more

We are a local yoga community with two beautiful light-filled studios in Mitcham and Balwyn. We offer hour-long classes in Vinyasa Flow, Yin, Slow Flow, and Basics (Foundation) Yoga.

History

Established in 2013.

Created by mother-daughter team, Susan and Clare, Light Space is inspired by a fresh and contemporary approach to yoga. Our central Balwyn location makes yoga accessible to residents of Melbourne's eastern suburbs. At Light Space we teach Vinyasa Flow and Yin yoga which are designed to address and balance the physical and mental stress associated with our modern day lifestyles. Our yoga classes are perfect for both beginner and advanced students, with our friendly teachers guiding you and tailoring your practice to suit your level or experience. Our beautiful Mitcham yoga studio has been designed in collaboration with stylist Sage x Clare to create a space that is open and light (and where you're sure to feel at home).
