Provender: this is a fantastic hot sauce novelty store inside the the food court/farmer's market area of The Grove. They have all sort of hot sauces from all over. This is a wonderful place to visit if you're looking for some spicy sauces. Prices: reasonable, the prices are listed at the bottom of the shelf for the respective sauces. Some hot sauces were around $7. Parking: since it's inside the food court there's plenty of parking spaces, if you can find one. People: fun for all, but best geared for the adult palate. Perks: this is a quaint mom-and-pop store inside the food court/farmer's market area that offers a wide selection of hot sauces. There's a $10 minimum if you're purchasing with a credit card, but you can easily reach this amount by buying two or more items. Friendly staff. There's a no photo/video policy inside the store.

The collection, is something to see and be in awe, hundreds, if not thousands of almost same size bottles, on shelves, with enticing names. And they go one step further, to help you choose. Sauces are categorized on the basis of their heat potential on a scale from 1 to 10+, with descriptions of how each stage would feel. Be brave. Try some out. Turn up the heat. Before it is time.
This is a small shop, they do offer a variety of Hot Bottle of Sauces. Variety of spicy levels and flavors. The lady/owner does need to have better customer service when interacting with customers.
Light My Fire is a small shop that sells hot sauce and is located in the original farmers market on Fairfax and 3rd in Los Angeles area also known as Beverly Grove. There's parking on 3rd Street and some vendors validate for about an hour and other vendor do NOT validate. This shop caught my attention, because some of the bottles had some expletive words on the labels( F word, Ass, etc) I am a fan of spicy hot sauces, but mostly rely on an actual chili pepper for spicy heat. Lots of spicy sauces/salsas have so much content of artificial ingredients, it's a turn off. Level of heat intensity is measured in terms of Scolville. American pharmacist Wilbur Scolville created the Scolville standard to measure heat spiciest intensity. See the attached pic chart for reference. This shop at the grove is very small and you can easily knock some bottles off the shelf upon movement. The shop keeper/person behind the register was NOT cordial, Unhelpful and actually acted bilious, barking orders, No Pics or No videos inside the shop! Geez, as if I'm going to steal proprietary rights, unlikely grumpy pants. He desperately needs a billion Scolville to spark his attitude. I was about to purchase a 6 pack of a hot sauce with the crudest label, but with the rude unprofessional attitude the shop person exhibited, I decided not to buy a darn thing. Most of the pics I took from outside the glass window. Due to non existent customer service, I can not recommend this shop, my generous 3 star rating is for the funny labels on the hot sauce bottles.

I asked the girl about a sauce I was curious about and I would have loved if she woulda been honest and transparent with me and just told me it was trash. This hot sauce was $15!!! I wouldn't pay more than $4 for this thing. They really need to consider their prices based on quality. And maybe not carry crappy sauces. Also, spice lever should be 4.
This place is billed as THE place to go to for hot sauces and spicy snacks. It is located on the Original Farmers Market. The lady, who runs the store, was helpful in helping us select some hot sauces and snacks. There s no taste testing, so you have to read the labels and ask for recommendations. The store is pretty cramped, but all the shelves are stacked with bottles of hot sauce. If you have a difficult time choosing, there are gift packs.

Cruising through The Farmers Market last Sunday at THE GROVE I discovered the house of heat. Really a shop dedicated to hot sauce's to commit Hara-kiri to your tastebuds. In this house of pain I'd estimate about 1000 different hot sauce bottles fill with mild to flame thrower heat. Some of these look so hot there in double containers to avoid touch. The only bottle I couldn't not find was MAD ANTHONY Hit sauce by the original one and only Van Halen bass player Michael Anthony. If your looking for the extreme flame look for the Habanero bottles to give to the kids for there meal. They will never ask for seconds again after that experience. Anyways shopping local is a must so grab a basket of hot sauce. Also make sure to get your ticket validated after your purchase for FREE PARKING in the Farmers Market lot. I'm on fire!!!!!
This is a crazy, fun store, and with my nephew who views food as the hotter, the better, I could not leave this store without buying him 3 bottles of hot sauce. I bought him bottles that ranged 8 or 9 on the hotness chart.......and it goes hotter than 10, calling it "off the charts." Those seemed to all be made with "ghost" peppers. My daughter bought her boyfriend some of that stuff, which make the habaneros that typically make up the 8-10's look like child's play. Anyway, I am not into the sauces myself...... I like very little heat, if any, but I have to say, the labels were downright amusing, if not hilarious. I wish I could remember the names of all 3 that I purchased, but the only one I can remember now is "Megasore-ass." The other two were far more crass than that.......and totally hilarious, right up my nephew's alley. If you're into hot sauce, you need to find your way down here !!! The volume of hot sauces/varieties is downright amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing.

Wow it can be overwhelming but it is a tourist trap that even locals can enjoy. You can get HOT hot sauce Carolina reaper level. Most of the sauces are puns and funny sayings. Prices are not terrible (pd $15) but higher than grocery store ot Amazon. The service is great and very knowledgeable. Always a spot to stop when at TOFM at The Grove. read more
I want to set the record straight before anyone complains about me taking pictures where it clearly states don't take pictures. I asked the staff permission to take pictures and they gave me the green light. I told them I would buy some hot sauce. I really like all the different kinds of hot sauce and its organized on a scale 1-10 heat level with the 10 being the hottest. I like all the naughty hot sauces. As you can see in the pictures below. I asked for some recommendations on hot sauce based on what flavor I like. I didn't buy this hot sauce here, but I really like Dirty Dick's Hot Sauce and you can buy it here. If you like a sweet hot sauce with a nice kick. This is the one for you. read more
Vast collection of hot sauces. So many so, it'd be difficult to tell some of them apart from the others just based on flavor profile. There's only so much hot or not you can hot or not to sauce. It's really the novelty of all these tiny bottles displayed together. All arraigned in color coordinated eye pleasing rows on multiple levels. The fun is found in reading all the sauce bottles because of their creative names and logos. Located center stage in the old Farmer's Market. A fun stop on your browsing/shopping adventure. read more

I thoroughly enjoy hot sauces so, I collect them and go through them quickly. I eat the stuff on everything. I am a regular customer here and the same nice lady is always working. She also has a shop in Vegas so she is one busy woman! She always remembers us though! I have a fave Jamaican scotch bonnet pepper sauce (Eaton's) I get here as well as a Marie Sharp's grapefruit habanero. There are hotter ones, 10 plus-plus but no worries, the shelves are all labelled 1-10 re. hotness. (Wimps on the store sheet are marked as a 1!) I find the prices so reasonable at $4-$5 for my particular sauces. They make great gifts too. The store is always neat and clean. There is so much variety and I have never seen an expired product. I have nothing but good things to say about this place and the Farmer's market at the Grove is so fun! read more

I enjoy the slow burn in my belly from an insanely spicy dish. My stomach is lined with iron. I usually go to Juan Pollo for my hot sauce. It's not the world's hottest, but it's pretty damn hot, and it's $5 per bottle. However, much to my dismay, I called recently and it was completely out. Needless to say, I was suffering from withdrawal pains. I drove in torrential rain today to get my hot sauce fix. Relief was there at last. Ghost pepper hot sauce! I absolutely love this stuff. Light My Fire has hot sauces, bbq sauces, and even spicy peanuts. I love the selection. It was like being in a candy store. read more

Do you like it HOT? Do you like it DIRTY? Do you like it SAUCY? If you answered yes to any of the three questions above then you need to march your ass right on down to Light My Fire at the original Farmer's Market!! This place seriously...no joking here...has a gazillion different styles of hot sauce. From "mild" to "oh my F'ing GOD please chop my F'ing head off to stop the pain HOT!" And with names like "Rocket Fire," "Pain," "The Hottest Fucking Sauce," and "Sudden Death"...they ain't kiddin' on their stuff being more than toasty! Great place for a different kind of gift or for the spicy aficionado in your life...They also have other items such as "Kick Ass Kettle Corn" and my favorite: "Spice Exchange Wasabe Peas." And I LOVES me some wasabe peas...I eat them ALL the time so I know what I'm talkin' about!! Lovely gal behind the counter too...be nice to her!! She accidentally hit a button on the register and my peas almost set me back $1900.00! lol It was only her second week, bless her little heart!! read more

This is a super handy specialty store if you looooove hot sauce! Where each sauce bottle resides, you'll find a number with corresponding heat scale on the shelf ledge. Heat Scale: 1-4 = Wimpy 5-7 = Nice and spicy 8-10 = Pleasant burn I purchased two bottles of a specialty hot sauce that is very difficult to find, "Chile Boys New Mexico Green Hot Sauce. Heat scale 7. The lady (whom I would assume was the proprietor) was friendly. Only downside is prices are a little steep, but that's to be expected of a specialty store. ;) read more
So many different sauces to try! I really want to go back and get some of their sauces that contain peri peri spice -- had the pleasure of tasting that when I went to Africa and I've been looking all over for someone who carries it. Found it! Everything from coffee, spices, wasabi nuts, sauces, rubs, marinades... If you can't take the heat, try the mild sauces -- there's something for everyone. My mom got a kick out of the coffee they carried (see pictures). read more

Definitely, one of the HOT spots at the Farmer's Market. For all you hot sauce aficionados (including fans of the Doors), this is the place for you. One bad thing is that I can't bring outside food and drinks into the store. When I'm at the Farmer's Market, I usually have a beer or snack in my hand so sometimes I just end up window shopping to avoid the hassle. Other than this, no HEATED experiences shopping here. I enjoy coming here to look at the different types of hot sauces from all around. They even carry some unique kinds of BBQ sauce, snacks, and coffee - all flavored with TORRID spices. It's well worth your comedic value to check this place out. With hot sauce names like - Ultra Toxic Waste, Fiery Fart, Pain Is Good, and Slap Ya Mama, you're sure to find something you like, if hot sauce is your kind of thing. As for me, I'm gonna try to avoid being the latest statistic of the "recent rise of stomach cancer among Asians" thing and try to eat my food bland and non-spicy. You can call me boring, but I'd rather live a few more years being adventurous with other things, rather than simply sitting on the toilet. I usually pass this place or Hot Sauce shops, but got caught looking at the funny names on the bottles in the window. We played guess how much and went inside to see if they were "affordable." At $5-8 average they were average value but I do like my spice, my hot, my buffalo wings so It's always nice to have some variety. Cute names of bums on fire or painful poo does not a quality sauce make, so how to decide? I asked the lady what sauces had good flavor, not just heat and she recomended a few and I went with her suggestions. read more
I love hot sauce. I have about 10 in my refrigerator because certain meals need a special hot sauce for instance Cholula is the best for pizza, Tabasco is the best for tuna sandwiches, Sriracha is best with some Chinese dishes where Garlic Chili Sauce doesn't work... Oh yeah...the review. So over the years I have tried just about every type of hot sauce including the painful non-flavorful kinds like Brain Damage or Death Sauce...don't buy those...they are more of a gag gift then a usable item. This store DOES have those crazy named, tongue piecing brands but they also carry the normal brands and harder to find brands like Melissas. The prices are not jacked up so if you are at the farmers market and you need to stock up on hot sauce definitely come to this store. read more

I'm not a hot sauce girl but the picture and conversation value alone is worth stopping by this joint to browse...I was in the area for the market but had a blast looking the ridiculously funny bottles of different sauces.. Maybe not kid friendly... I'm sure you can get some "saucy" and perhaps questionably tasteful gifts for ladies or gents in your life... read more
