Never got back to me from my online inquiry. Went to the store and was ignored for 20 mins by young sales clerk. Eventually left.

Came in for a lamp switch replacement. Was able to purchase the lamp switch for $5 but was quoted $40 to replace lamp switch on a target bought lamp. Daylight robbery for a lamp switch replacement! The gentleman was nice and helpful but quote was ridiculously overpriced. I was able to replace the switch myself with the part I bought. read more

What a fantastic find! We were looking for a very specific round shaped Edison bulb and found it easily. The worker made sure we tested the lightbulb to see if we liked the warmth. A++++, my artificial trees lights gave out after just one year. I decided to come to an actual light store vs. Target/Home Depot etc. The service was phenomenal. If you're looking for a light bulb of any size or shape from the nicest people this is the place for you! There is free parking in the back so it's very convenient for shopping. Right by a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and more. We needed an oversized lightbulb but broke it two days later so we had to go back again. Even though it was a very expensive bulb and the fault was totally our own they insisted on taking no money from us for the bulb. I give this store the highest recommendation! read more

I had the loveliest experience here last week. Luis, the manager, is a true wizard. Every question or request I made, I was expecting a "we don't do that/we don't sell that/that will cost extra..." but no. "Can I shorten this cord?" was met with a "of course, what length?' "can I remove this socket from the cord?" absolutely but the best one was when I wanted to fix the faulty light fixture that I brought in... "do you have a hot glue gun?" "I actually do" so he not only changed the bulb, shortened the cord, solved the flicker issue, he also went into arts&crafts mode with my little crazy gun detour. GONE are the days when I buy bulbs and cords and anything light related from Amazon. I'm going to Light Bulbs Unlimited and not just any location, but the one on Wilshire and I'm asking for Luis!!!! read more

For starters don't tell a customer you have an item that you don't. That was after a thorough description, and item number provided over the phone. So after the wasted drive, this guy says he has a similar replacement LED type of bulb. I asked the price and was SHOCKED, it was like 27.00 for one bulb. I promptly said no thanks and left. I Googled another lighting supplier nearby on Lincoln Blvd. The same bulb they offered and the bulb l needed 8.77 each! They're pricey to say the least. read more

Horrible place!!! Never go back again! Bought a smart light bulb, which wasn't compatible with my Wi-Fi. After trying every single day, I went back to exchange or get refund. It's a $44,00 light bulb. Anthony who just pushed me to buy this light bulb wasn't helpful at all. Instead of trying to solve the problem, issue my store credit, he got on his own app to show me that his bulb works at his house. Well, it doesn't work on my Wi-Fi. After wasting time to explain to him, he said that he couldn't do anything bc the police is seven days and today is the 8th day! I tried to support local businesses but it was a mistake. I could get it from Amazon, probably it's cheaper! and if it didn't work I would have gotten my money back. I lost $44 but it will cost more for them! The owners did not require a customer who refused to properly wear his mask to leave . . . they served him anyway. Don't go there. The manager's reply is incorrect. They allowed him to make his purchase before he left. The customer in violation was speaking on the phone with the mask covering his mouth but not his nose. Walking past it I thought to myself that I might have a seizure looking at their window display. So fun! It's as if a store took one too many if you know what I mean. It's may be a bit overpriced but it's a specialty store selling LIGHT BULBS, support the cause. It's a good place to go if you want to look at your options and need help making a decision. I have this lamp that had no shade and is more like a grate so a typical light bulb was far too hurtful on the eyes. Looking back it wad probably not the most functional lamp to buy and it was cool, but mostly useless... Until I stopped by the"light bulb store!" I was looking for a fat bulb that was frosted and have off a yellow tinted light but as soon as I was shown the Edison bulb collection in their trippy little back room, nothing else would work. It was the one. With Edison bulbs you can see the carbon filaments as they light up and the shapes vary from ziggy zaggies to swirls. The filaments are supposed to last forever. (Btw did you know Thomas Edison was afraid of the dark?) They even gave me a discount because they knew I was in love. No refunds only exchanges or store credit by 7 days but it's almost Christmas time, what a good excuse to frost up your landscape! Very satisfied. read more

I had what to me was a rare and unidentifiable light bulb (I couldn't Google what kind of light bulb it was even without any identifying marks) so I took it into LBU to get it ID'd and replaced. The young guy on the other side of the counter took one quick glance at it and knew exactly what it was (I should have caught his name) and found a replacement for my burnt out bulb in under 15 seconds. I bought the replacement halogen bulb he found for me for $10, then left my burnt out bulb for recycling and went back out to my car. A minute later the same guy ran out to to my car to tell me that my bulb wasn't burnt out. He tested it and it works fine. I go back inside where he shows me how it still works, then he gives me a refund for the bulb I bought. They won my business. I'll be back to buy something from them the second I have the need. read more

I should have believed the early reviews on this business. I just went today to buy 2G lightbulbs since I don't know the style number. The customer service person had a magnifying glass and could see the number of the old lightbulb which was burnt out .. I asked him for the price for replacement and he responded $7.95 for the replacement. When I got back home I checked the price on Amazon as well as Fryeaas well as Home Depot all listed the lightbulbs ranging In cost from $2.50 to $2.85. This is more than 100% mark up for the exact same exact item. TRULY OUTRAGEOUS! I believe that I have now learned my lesson to believe the reviews on yelp. I guess the owners of this chain don't really care about what many customers state their ludicrous mark up!.. I will no be returning! read more

Awesome store. They do gréât lamp repairs, snd have even converted some unusual items into lamps for me! As a designer i love that! They also have unusual bulbs and hard-to-find bulbs so no having to wait for an Amazon delivery if you need something right away. The staff is very kind. I can understand a 15 or 20% markup. I know brick and mortar stores are always more expensive than online retailers... but 500% more expensive?! That's a flat out scam. I tried to take these back several days later and the manager looked straight at me and tried to tell me that this was justifiable pricing. When I asked why I was not informed of the return policy, he told me it was on the receipt. Well, obviously you don't get a receipt until AFTER you make a purchase, so this is no way to inform a customer. He pointed to a sign hanging 8 feet above the register that you would be extremely unlikely to notice. There was another woman there with a similar issue, and all they would offer her was store credit. I refused this because I don't want store credit from a dishonest store selling things 500% above retail. I was referred to the general manager in Sherman Oaks, so I'm interested to hear what he has to say in defense of this ridiculous scam pricing. read more

Amazing. If I could give 10 stars I would. This is not just a store front with sales associates for light bulbs. These are highly specialized electrical service professionals. I had an issue with a bulb I purchased from them for my RH chandelier that appeared to meet all the specs. Unfortunately when I plugged it in at home it shorted out all my lights that were connected to that switch. Luis and Jr came to my home. Figured out the issue. What wasn't available for my bulb was the voltage. They gave me low voltage and I needed high voltage. To be clear it was not their error we just didn't have enough information from the manufacturer. No damage done. Just replaced the switch. They even refunded me for the bulbs I bought and gave me the correct bulbs for free. I can't say enough good things you just don't see this level of customer service anymore. I will always buy my light bulbs here forever. After seeing what scale of damage could happen with a $10 bulb, I would never buy a light bulb off Amazon. read more

Bunch of guys standing around with a burnt-out attitude. They ordered the Led bulbs I needed which they were out of stock. They said they would call once they receive them in about two weeks. I went back three times within eight weeks to see if they had the bulbs because I haven't heard from them. Finally yesterday, I went in the store fourth time and this employee with a terrible attitude said that he wasn't the one ordered it, they still didn't receive my order and just walked away. Then another employee, Jr., start looking around and found my order waiting on the shelf??? On top of everything, the mark up on their merchandise is a real rip-off. I walked in the store with my 9 months in the carrier and a table lamp on hand. The lamp had stopped working and I couldn't figure out why. Luis was so kind to check it out and while at first he thought the dimmer needed replacement, he fiddled with the metal piece that keeps the bulb in place and explained that sometimes it gets stuck. In 5 minutes he figured out the problem and fix it. When I asked how much was the charge, he simply said: "Don't worry about it, spend it on him ( looking at my baby)". It was New Year's Eve near closing time. My outside light had burned out and I knew my rowdy neighbors were having a massive party that night; it was NOT the night I wanted the exterior of my house to be dark. Scratch that-- the guy had already locked up and turned out the lights. GREAT SELECTION, AWFUL PRICES I bought two LED BR40 bulbs for my kitchen at this store. In today's world of LED and halogen and incandescent lighting, I had no idea what was a fair price and paid $29.95 for each bulb. I should have spent more time surfing the web. When I entered the SKU number for this item, imagine my surprise to see the same bulb offered for $12.99. I called the store and asked if they matched internet pricing. No, they said. Seems they would rather lose customers than lose a small profit. This is more than pumping the margin a little bit to cover brick-and-mortar overhead. At more than twice the online cost, this was just greed. I don't like being ripped off, and would never visit this store again. I know they have a wide selection but, if you can wait a week, buy it somewhere else at a fair price. read more
