As a Professional, I believe that effective communication and patient care are fundamental aspects of my everyday life. During my recent visit, I observed behaviors that left me dissatisfied with the patient experience. Specifically, [with the communication of the Doctor, Dr. Pattem, and her unlearned experience regarding my benefits and health. Her indecisiveness and unethical behavior were deplorable, such as lack of empathy, rushed consultations, or inadequate explanations of medical conditions. It is crucial to emphasize that patients are not merely cases but individuals seeking guidance, understanding, and reassurance during often stressful times. The quality of the patient-doctor interaction significantly influences the overall perception of this medical practice. When I countered her, she double downed and when I asked to see a doctor, she basically told me that she was the caregiver and I could go somewhere else if I did not like her diagnosis. Yes, rude and no empathy. That night I was even in more pain and I went to the emergency room, taking the Helix paperwork with me. The doctor spent a lot of time with me, did tests, said the Helix nurse's diagnosis was so wrong. Bottom line...thankfully it was only painful and repairable but need not have gotten as serious if the nurse would have listened to me.

Departments do not communicate between each other adequately and they have failed to refill my prescription after prescription refill appointments not once but twice in the last two years, resulting in painful weeks waiting for my medication. I've currently been calling and leaving messages every day this week begging for the refill I paid to have done two months ago with no response from any practitioner. I will be seeking a new doctor to monitor my autoimmune disease and administer my refills.
