I started my membership with lifetime fitness back in 2014 since then my rates have gone up 2x. The response from the gym in regards to frustration about the rates changing have been... a lot of people are upset but basically deal with it. If you want to cancel make sure you send it by certified mail or do it in person. There are plenty of other great gyms in the area that value their customers and do not change the rates of existing members. The gym isn't even kept up with. There have been numerous times I have gone and there and trash has been left on the floor for days. Machines are left broken. The ladies changing areas are not stocked the way they said they would be when I first signed. read more

I love working out here it is by far the cleanest facility I've been to in the city with the most up to date equipment and usually it is not too crowded (unless you come between 4-6) the cafe had great food and all of the staff thus far have been super friendly and helpful. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because it's not perfect, nothing is, but they could have another cable machine and the price if very high, especially when you add family members on to the membership, and it's not open 24/7 they close from 12am to 4am. I absolutely love Lifetime. I've been a member at this gym for 3 years now and though I wouldn't label myself a 'gym rat', some of my friends would disagree. I do workout 5-6 times a week. When you spend a lot of time in the gym there are somethings you can't compromise. Cleanliness, space, amenities for children and professionalism of the staff are the biggest things for me. Having been a member at LA Fitness previously I will say I won't ever go back to a gym that is a turnstile for employees and members. Lack of tenure and consistency is always a sign of a poorly managed gym or company. Lifetime is always clean, and has a great staff that keeps the gym that way! The amount of equipment and space is great. I never feel that I have to wait for something endlessly. And they have great programs for adults and children, including karate, swimming, squash, basketball and an array of group fitness classes. I love love love the child's center. Private basketball court and indoor/outdoor play area for the kids. Plus a media area equipped with iPads and iMacs, plus a separate room for infants and a tv area with games and toys! Those of you who have kids and go to LA fitness know this is a huge step up from the single room with a 20in tv and an old school McDonald's style playplace, lol. If you're thinking to sign up but are worried about the pricing, I highly suggest you at least try it out on a guest pass or trial. It's well worth the money in comparison to other gyms. This place is VERY impressive. I really liked it but I refuse to pay the price of $144/month that was quoted to me for a single person membership. Just 3 months of membership here is over the price of a full year worth of membership at other places. When searching for a gym, I was initially looking for a place that offered a lot of Zumba classes and Google led me to LifeTime Fitness/Athletic. It's always a red flag for me when a gym does not show it's membership prices online and instead has you make a request for them. 9.8 out of 10 gyms will have their membership prices online. I was called about 10 minutes after making the request, had a 10 minute conversation with customer service about the amenities offered but no mention of membership prices came up. He did tell me that children could be added to the adult membership for $30/month. A dollar/day didn't seem so bad so I didn't think the membership would be as drastic as it was. I asked about a one day pass for a child to go swimming with a member for a day and they said it was $20/day and that it's expensive because they try to discourage day passes and prefer people to instead pay the $30/month for the child. I wanted to tour anyway (they didn't tell me the membership price, otherwise I wouldn't have toured) so I made an appointment and went a few hours later. Met with a woman who showed me around, talked EXTREMELY too fast to where I could barely keep up with what she was saying, but I was pleased with what I saw. After the tour, we went into her office and just as another reviewer said, it felt like I was at a car dealership or that I was listening to an infomercial (but wait there's more! pay us now and we'll wave this fee), that didn't change the fact that the price is expensive as hell per month. During the tour, I told the woman (whose hair I LOVED btw) that I was moving to Atlanta soon, hadn't started my new job yet and that I was scoping the place out for whenever the time came that I would be starting back at a gym. She literally asked me when I was expecting my first check. Really?! Saying that the payment can be deferred for 7 days (mentioned that it's only suppose to be deferred for about 3 days, as if giving me a full week was doing me a favor). She also mentioned that cancelling a membership required a 30 day notice (which means you would need to pay another month worth of membership before you could cancel, whether that means you can or cannot go to the gym during that month is beyond me) The LifeCafe (I think that's what it's called) had very expensive supplements and products for sale and the menu and pre-prepared salads and food was expensive (7.99 for a salad if I remember correctly, 2.99 for what looked like an 2 ounces of cottage cheese, etc) They do have a very large cardio room where every machine has a tv monitor attached, large group fitness room, 2 indoor pools, 2 outdoor pools, a spa (probably extra expenses there also) etc. Maybe to some, it's worth the price-tag but I'm not willing to pay that much. I'm happy with a place like the Y for about $100 LESS per month than LifeTime Fitness. Heed the members' warnings though regarding locker break-ins and car break-ins (parking is within a parking deck shared with lots of other shops in the nearby area), if that kind of thing is happening at a gym that's so expensive, that's not a good look. If you can afford it and you feel good about what you see and the extra prices (bootcamp, personal trainer, child membership, etc), then by all means, go for it. I have been a member at this location going on two and a half years. Let's start off with the positive. The "Diamond" level facility is nice and well kept facility! The gym is rarely crowded and is quite comfortable. Secondly, the pricing is too much for what you get. The I love the Muay Thai kickboxing but we are only allowed to use the equipment during the time the classes are offered. Their should be a boxing are such as the Lifetime in Charlotte, NC. I was a member for almost five years. The facility is decent and the hours are good but there are always machines out of order. And for the last year, there have been so many young kids in the gym just sitting on machines and texting that it became less enjoyable. The biggest issue is when you try to cancel. It's almost impossible to do so. I initially put my account on hold in February and called back later that month to cancel. I was never advised I needed to put this request in writing. I was told the cancellation was taken care of and if I decided to return, they would give me $100 "lifetime bucks". Looking at my bank statements this month, I realized they started billing me again in May without my knowledge. I immediately called the Sandy Springs facility to request a refund and make sure the account reflected a cancel status. After speaking with the front desk for awhile, I was transferred to Kyle Crouse. I explained the situation about putting the account on hold followed by another call to cancel. He put me on hold several times, told me corporate would never agree to refund me for the past four months, even though I haven't been there since February, and advised me to send a cancellation letter which would take effect next month. I expressed my dissatisfaction. After spending 30 minutes on the call, I wanted to be treated like a "Diamond" member and have the issue corrected and resolved in one call. He told me he would transfer me yet again to an office that could assist. I was transferred to an automated attendant. As soon as I selected the "cancellation" prompt, I got a recording about sending a letter and was disconnected! This place is a lot like the song Hotel California. You can check in but you can never leave. There are a lot of great facilities in Atlanta with excellent trainers and courteous service. My husband signed us up for memberships here. It's near our house, and easy to get too....BONUS!! We were members before the facility actually opened, and went to the Grand Opening on May 2. WHOA! It is HUGE! You'll never be waiting for a machine here! I was very impressed with the wide variety free classes they offer! They offer a Pilates/yoga fusion class for free, and tons of Yoga & Hot Yoga classes! AWESOME!! They have a reformer Pilates machines, but those classes are not free. The fee to sign up for those classes is the going market rate for reformer classes. Very impressive gym, and FULLY loaded! The amenities are fantastic! Towels, locker rooms, showers, etc. are nice!!! I took a water Zumba & Hot Yoga class this weekend, and loved both!!! The instructors were great! I look forward to taking more classes!! LOVE their indoor pool! Can't wait to get on that water slide in the outdoor pool!! It was closed, due to rain. This place isn't cheap, but neither were a lot of the other gyms we looked into that had far less. Pretty good gym, very clean, although for the price there are some issues specifically if you are a fan of utilizing basketball courts. They often close off half for kids club, which has over 40 kids with only few employees supervising them resulting in the kids always throwing things on the other side of the courts and coming close to causing injuries. Reaching out to management did not really help all that much, unfortunately. Courts are often dirty while there is kids club, and floors are dented now. Unfortunate. Would give negative stars if I could. Buyer Beware Outside the gym being clean that's the only thing that's clean with this Dirty Business. I got more run arounds as to why I was charged $149 for a membership that I didn't agree to. I was signed up on the notion that if I didn't want to the membership after the walk around that I could cancel on the spot. I did my walk around on Nov 27th by myself (Not with a staff member) and Cancelled on Nov 30th after I slept on it. Once December hit the system tried to charge me the fee and I purposely had it blocked through my credit card company because I was suspicious based off the reviews. Took me a week to get in touch with the GM Sharon and she states she heard my concern and that she has stopped the system from trying to take payments. No confirmation number was given but I will monitor further and if something is not resolved fully I will take further steps. read more

All the bad stuff I have read here about this location is true. The bullying, the charges and on and on. I was very happy at the LIFETIME location in Woodstock for 10 years. Then we moved and I used this location. After about four months, the instructor's bullying became so intense that I ended up leaving training sessions in tears, and then I finally left lifetime gym forever. I was charged to hold my membership, but fortunately my credit card number was changed due to fraudulent activity on the card they had the number for. Otherwise I would certainly be building up charges that they would never reverse. I reached out to corporate about my bad/sad experiences at this location because I'd so happy for so long at the Woodstock lifetime, but nobody gave a shit. I am now very happy at a private gym. They lost tens of thousands of dollars of my business because I used their salon and their café often. I was waiting for the Buckhead location to be built but I probably will never bother going. I used to love lifetime but I have a very bad feeling about that place now due to my experiences at the Sandy Springs location and lack of action from corporate, to at least apologize for some of the things that happened. read more

I have been a member of Lifetime Fitness since 2010. During that time I have been to numerous clubs in the Chicago area, as well as clubs in other states. This location is by far the most glamorous, but It ended up being a pretty big let down. I am in the area for a Perfect Game tournament at the East Cobb Complex. The parking situation at this location was the first thing I didn't care for. I spent 5 minutes driving through the parking garage just to get to the "P1" level to gain access to Lifetime. Granted, I was driving a 15 passenger van which made it a little more challenging, but I have never seen a club that required you to park in a parking garage. Not too big a deal, just a little weird. The actual facility is beautiful, as I stated above. However, I was extremely disappointed with the free weights area. They only had 3 squat racks and no Olympic lifting equipment. No dead lift platforms, no bumper weights, and no designated area for such lifting. I walked up to the 3rd level thinking they must have a second weight room, but it was just the basketball courts and racquetball rooms. Some of you might think this isn't big deal, but to any athlete who is training for a specific sport and not just working out to look good or stay shape it is critical to have this kind of equipment. I really don't know how this is a "Diamond" club, other than the fact that it is pretty and must be located in a highly affluential area. The "Gold" club I go to in Chicago is half the price but includes the best equipment around. read more

The childcare center is not up to the standard that the gym portrays. Staff is highly unprofessional, not within dress code, not friendly, they lie over small things to cover up their poor behavior, are understaffed and complain that they do not get paid enough to watch the children. When i joined the gym, the original childcare center staff were great, but the new people drag down the quality of the club and the membership just isn't worth it once you have to deal with your child being mishandled by people that do not like their job. I tried on several attempts to escalate the issue to the Club Manager Sharon, but she is unconcerned with meeting and addressing member concerns. Her door is constantly closed and one time, she snuck out the office and exited the back of the building even after being aware that i was waiting for a meeting with her and leaving Brandon (the asst. manager) to look bad. I've never seen a Manager (she's White btw) have low interest in the experience of other members (I'm Black) and not want to hear their concerns and improve the experience. This gym just wants your money and could careless about your experience, especially if you're amongst a minority group. I've never been greeted or spoken to by this woman (Sharon) and the Club has situated her office as the first door you see when you walk in. It's sad that she is creating this atmosphere in the midst of unsettling issues in our country and her conduct parallels to a systemic nature that encourages poor conduct and the mistreatment of minority groups. The clubs' member diversity is so low and majority of the Black people there are staff, don't be fooled. To further my point, Ive never even had a warm and welcoming energy from Sharon and I'd venture to say, she doesn't want to give that energy. I've never been so blatantly mistreated, ignored, underrepresented and overall undesired at a major place of business in Atlanta like this. Hopefully they will change their management style and improve this gym and have more diverse members there, but don't waste your money unless you want to endorse disparaging treatment, low Covid 19 prevention measures and poor club management that doesn't care about your overall experience. My recommendation is a more privatized gym that caters to wanting to provide you with the best experience and hires the best employees, (with great pay) so that YOU get the best for a $200/mo. My second interview, I waited 45 minutes (and that could have been longer, a trainer came and told me the manager was with someone else). For the size of this place and the cost I expected a larger free weight section. The free weight section is the same size as other lifetime fitness locations while the size of the machine, cardio and pilates sections has increased by about 1.5 times the size of other locations. There is a rediculous amount of machines and cardio equipment, but you might be waiting for a rack or a specific weight of DB's. 3 stars because of the price, lack of free weights and because its not 24 hour accessible, otherwise I would have given it 4. read more

I have enjoyed my experience at Lifetime so far. It's a little pricier than other gyms but I think its worth it. They have tons of weight machines so I never have to think about what I'm doing next. Also their cardiac deck is huge. I have never waited to do cardio even at the busiest time of the day which is great. Also, the bathroom is clean which is a huge plus. And they have towels, soap, shampoo, etc. So it makes showering before work easy. If you are willing to shell out a few extra bucks, this place is worth it. read more

This place is awesome. There don't seem to be any other places around that come close. I'm new to Atlanta, and this is pretty much my new home. It's only a few months old, so everything is super new and shiny and clean. The people are very nice and knowledgeable. Tell Guy I recommended it to you - he knows his stuff and is really welcoming. The staff can be a little sales-ish sometimes, but that's to be expected (after all, it is their job), and they don't push anything if you don't want it . You can get a free trial for 7 days, so why not check it out? I love anything free :) One thing that really sets this place apart from any other gym I've ever been to - LifeLab. It's this crazy program where they have all sorts of tests you can have done. Like medical-style tests.... I'm learning and benefiting much more from these tests than anything my past doctors have ever done - probably because Steve (the person who ran the tests for me) was amazing about answering any question I could think of. No one has ever been that great at helping me understand and improve my health. And we've only talked a few times. But he doesn't rush me and he obviously knows what he's talking about. He's great at interpreting the numbers for me and explaining why I should care. They call him 'Spreadsheet Steve' for a reason... :) Ryan was also really knowledgeable and listened well to my needs and concerns when I was trying to pick out a heart rate monitor. And if you need a recommendation on a trainer, talk to Kwame. He's another super warm and welcoming person that makes you feel at home here :) For example, I did the calorie point test, which means I sat in a quiet room for 15 mins and breathed through a mask that measured the amounts of C02 and oxygen (or something super scientific) and then it tells me exactly how many calories my body burns in a day! No more random guessing for me! And of course, there are lots of group fitness classes included in membership. My personal favorites so far are Zumba with Rachel at 4:30pm on Tuesdays, kickboxing with Andre at 10am on Mondays, Ashtanga yoga with Michele at 8:30am on Wednesdays, and Ballet Body Fusion with Denise at 11am on Thursdays. (Nothing against the other instructors or classes - I just haven't had a chance to get to them all yet!). Yes, there are kids there. Sometimes the parents are amazing at keeping their little ones under control, but sometimes kids are kids and they're noisy and disruptive. I know nothing about child care since I don't have kids. LifeCafe is kind of expensive, but everything I've ever ordered has been delicious. Portions aren't ginormous, but that means calorie counts are reasonable. Staff are always nice and friendly. Paula at the front desk is super cool, too. I don't have the same last name as my husband, so for a while they wouldn't believe we were married (grrr!), but she was always nice and made sure no one bothered me while I dug our marriage certificate out from the moving boxes. LifeSpa - pretty sweet. Not cheap, but they have deals every now and then. I recommend Jennifer and Evvy for massage. Jennifer can read my mind. My husband was amazed by Evvy's ability to interpret his body during reflexology. I was skeptical, but she really knows her stuff. I've been a member of Lifetime Fitness for more than 10 years already. As a health care worker myself, I worked the graveyard shifts, and we appreciate the flexibility, being a 24-hour fitness center it gave us a variety of options when to work out when it is convenient. Although Sandy Springs is not a 24-hour fitness center, several Lifetime Fitness in Georgia was operating on a 24/7 basis before the Pandemic. We understand that the reopening is a soft roll out to full operations. However, the limited time is not consistent to prevent disease transmission in the public. Right now, gym-goers do not have many choices because they limited their services from 5 AM to 10 PM during the weekdays, and more restricted in the weekends, from 6 AM to 9 PM. Consolidating hours may save them operational costs but it will not promote public health and wellness, because the diminished hours will prompt customers to come in all at the same, which can easily make the gym a petri dish of infectious diseases. In addition to the fact that we are paying $150 per month for this service, we will simply look around for a similar gym with comparable service. Please listen to your customers ---- otherwise, you will lose a lot of patrons really soon. Thanks. read more

MAINTENANCE NEEDS IMPROVEMENT. The men's steam room and showers stink. Not sure if it is kick-back from the drain or absence/lack of enough maintenance, I have left the steam room and showers several time because I could not take the smell anymore. It is all the more disappointing that this is a DIAMOND club and I did not expect this from diamond club. I have been to several other LT locations where these facilities were far better. Also the eucalyptus oil smell in the steam room is barely even recognizable. So a combination of dirt, smell and lack of eucalyptus smell render the steam room hard to use. Hopefully the club will do something about this at least now. read more

This is the nicest gym I have set foot in. It's like walking into a resort. Huge locker rooms with built in locks for each locker. So convenient since I'm always leaving my lock at home. There are 2 studios for group classes and a seperate yoga studio. They have a variety of different machines for ams, legs, cardio, back, etc. A large open area where you can do ropes, stretch or your own mini circuits. My favorite part is the pools and hot tubs available. 2 large pools outside complete with a waterslide and a few lap pools inside. I'm so sad that I live in seattle and can't have this gym down the street from my house. read more

Being the yoga lover that I am I wanted to try their yoga class out. I went on a guest pass this past Saturday and took the 12:00 class. It was the most horrendous experience of my life. The instructor was arrogant, rude, and condescending. He embarrassed me when I couldn't do a certain posture which I couldn't do because of a surgery that I had. In addition, he sarcastically suggested that I was breathing too heavy. Just insane. I would never return back to this gym if they paid me to do so. No one should have to go through that. LifeTime Fitness' facilities are state of the art, especially the weight equipment. They have an entire floor dedicated to weight equipment and cardio, which is great. The third floor consists of two full-size basketball courts separated by a giant "tarp", which hangs from the ceiling. They also have five squash courts, and an outdoor patio-like place where barbecues are sometimes held. The squash courts are pretty clean, but are extremely warm and fast. The walls do not have the solid feel of other ASB courts, but the lighting is nice and are relatively cool. However, they do not have any tennis courts, which is pretty surprising. The first floor is primarily occupied by the indoor and outdoor pools. Both of the pools are massive and luxurious. The indoor pool actually comprises of two different pools, one designed for swimming laps, and the other for a more relaxing experience. The outdoor pool is also very nice; there is a large waterslide that is super fun to ride on, and there is a shallow end that simulates a beach (without sand) where you can throw a frisbee or tennis ball around. The negatives to this gym is that the locker rooms are very dirty. The ground is almost always wet and slippery in each of the locker clusters, and near the showers, there is dirt encompassing all of the tiles. The showers sometimes even have the dirt inside of them on the floor, which is kind of disgusting. The staff of the gym are also not the kindest, and if you ask for help, they sometimes neglect your question or even ignore you entirely. The cafe at the front of the building is excruciatingly slow, and the staff show no sense of urgency towards your order. I've waited for over twenty minutes for a simple smoothie. All in all, LifeTime Fitness has fantastic equipment, marvelous pools, pretty great squash courts, and is a beautiful building. It has its cons, but I would recommend this gym to anyone and it is great for your money. read more

I just read through some of the previous reviews and was shocked. We joined Lifetime about a year ago - we being myself and my two kids (5 and 2) and WE LOVE IT! The amenities and facility are top notch and the environment is welcoming and convenient especially for families. My kids absolutely love the kids club and we get a good range of variety in what they do in there on a regular basis. Sometimes they play outside on the turf field, sometimes they play basketball or dodge ball and sometimes my son is just happily playing on the computers. As far as the equipment goes, I have never seen anything broken there for more than 12 hours. And trust me, sometimes we are there twice a day. The personal training department is the most knowledgeable and credentialed I have ever seen. I work with Demarcus Brooks and he works wonder! The reason we joined, originally, was the amazing pool and pool area. The lounges are comfortable and always clean. The pool is always crystal clear and there is so much to do in it including slides, basketball and kiddie fountains that its impossible to get bored. The one drawback I do have about the pool is that if a kid poops in it, they take 24 hours to shock it before members can get back in. That can ruin a hot day fast but I guess I'd rather them be safe than sorry. The staff at this location is great! Micah was the one who introduced me to the club and he and his wife have become friends with our family. I also enjoy the group fitness classes which are both packed and challenging! My favorite class...OF ALL TIME...is Dance Jam with DJay. He is an amazing dancer and passes his skills onto his students. Overall, yes, Lifetime is expensive but for all of the programs, things to do, active lifestyle for your family and care for yourself, it is definitely worth it for this girl! read more

This location is actually great when it comes to amenities and facilities. However, I have two thefts from my locked (combo - only staff has access to the "master Key"). The first time, $350.00 was taken. I told management and they compensated me by giving me credit for what was stolen --- $350.00 towards my 'SKY" membership. Fine, I could live with that. It'll never happen again. Wrong! Less than 90 days later, I had $1,000.00 stolen from the same locker! Unreal. It is obviously an "inside-job" --- however, this time, I received absolutely ZERO compensation from the management of this location. On top of that, their insurance company, Travelers called me to inform me that I utilize the lockers "at my own risk" and that I would not be eligible to submit a claim to be reimbursed. When I informed the General Manger that I was looking to join Concourse Athletic Club, she made no offer to keep me a member of LifeTime. Fine. Concourse, here I come! read more

An overpriced playground for Mommies and kids. Lifetime is not for the serious workout individual. I would give it a zero rating. Don't be fooled by the impressive looking facility. It doesn't make up for the terrible, personal training department with their unjustified sky high prices of $100 per session. Also, they make you purchase 16 sessions at one time plus a metabolism non-essential test for $145. So if you are not willing to come up with at least $1800 out of pocket not including the outrageous member fees of $220 per couple up front, you will be dissed, mistreated, unwelcomed and harassed. Think about the worst car dealership you can imagine. That's what LT is all about. The management are just as horrifying. $$$$ & high profit is their only motive and concern. The safety and well-being of the members are insignificant to management. When a female member was ATTACKED by another female in the locker room. NOT ONLY did the management or the trainer involved not do anything about it, they were totally unconcerned that people were walking around their gym threatening, harassing and attacking other members. They covered it up , turned the story around because of a personal agenda. They hushed it all up like it never happened. Justice overruled by greed. Not to mention that some of their team members are ruthless, dishonest who use the facility to entertain their friends giving, it a cheaper gym feeling and not a "Diamond-club" exclusive facility. So if you want unsafe lockers, horrible management and a personal training department who acts like a cult, Life Time is for you. But if you seek a professional, relaxed exclusive environment, STAY AWAY. Life Time is a waste of your time and your LIFE. read more

It's not a safe place. They provide combo locks on the lockers (no, you can't use your own) and somebody got into my locker and stole my debit cards and cash. When I reported it to the manager on staff he grabbed a key and went into the locker room. I told him there was only one other person in the same locker aisle so he opened his locker to see if my stuff was in there. Conclusion - it's possible that some employee of Lifetime may have used a key to get into my locker but who knows? They didn't seem too concerned about locker break-ins. When I told the manager I wanted to quit he was helpful and told me that he would have the main club manager call me. It's been a month now so it's clear that I will never hear from her. I have seen numerous police cars in the parking lot dealing with car break-ins. My suggestion to anyone is find a gym where you can use your own locks on the lockers and look for a safer location. read more

I used to work out at Lifetime, when they first opened. My membership was $75 a month. I just use weights and cardio machines and I do not attend any of their classes. I am not sure where they justify charging someone $190 + taxes & fees... It is not as amazing as they think. For $30 a month, I went an 8 minute drive down Roswell Rd and joined LA Fitness. It's busier and sometimes I wait for equipment. But I also don't have to deal with their ridiculous staff here either, which I consider a huge bonus. It isn't a question of whether I can afford it, it is a question of spending money wisely. If you're the kind of person who likes to spend an hour putting on your hair and makeup, organizing your outfit, and preparing for the gym to be a light social activity, this may be your cup of tea more than mine. I like to sweat and lift heavy things and get rid of my stress for the day. I find this place a total turn-off and such a poignant example of the wrong direction the fitness industry is moving towards. read more
