I go to Lifetime because it's the only gym in a 50 mile radius that seems to have an indoor/outdoor pool, racquetball courts, steam room and sauna. I go for thr amenities. For access to those amenities I pay about $120/month for the couples membership. If I didn't care about those amenities I would just give plant fitness $10 bucks a month. I have no illusions about what I am getting for that cost. But make no mistake, this is not a "luxury" gym, and you won't get the Frasier Crane experience. You certainly don't get anything close to the service you would expect from a gym with this cost of membership. It's a pathetically managed and dirty gym with rude staff and no desire or ability to enforce any of the rules. My wife and I joined about 3 months ago. The first thing I noticed was that 5 out of 6 of the front desk staff have the social skills of a trained monkey. Most of them can't even muster a hello. They are often engaged in conversation with one another and they don't break that conversation for so much as eye contact and a simple greeting. They just wave the scanner over your card and continue talking about their new Tesla or meal replacement shakes.. or whatever it is they're celebrating at that moment. There's one gentleman who works the front desk from time that is the only exception. There are very basic rules of etiquette at this gym, as there are at any other gym, however they're not enforced. Sadly the spectrum of members runs the gambit from pre teens who lounge on equipment like jungle-jims to meatheads who think they're training for the Mr. Olympia Contest and grunting loudly through every set while "looking around to see who is looking at them, looking at you, looking at them, to see if they are looking at you.." before they eventually slam the weights to the ground in spartan-like exhaustion. Mind you, there are signs all over the gym that instruct members to follow some simple rules, like don't slan weights or clean the equipment after use.. but the staff is clearly too timid or useless to enforce any of it. Other irritating but commonplace occurrences are members sitting around on equipment while staring at their phone for 30 minutes without performing a set during peak hours. As well as "supersetting" or occupying multiple pieces of equipment during peak hours. NOBODY cleans their equipment after use at this gym. We joined during the height of covid when masks were required, however there were always a handful of members who refused to wear a mask. I will admit, my wife and I have never been hardcore supporters of masks throughout this pandemic, however where masks were mandated we always wore them. We are not the type of people to blatantly disregard rules in establishments where rules are in place. We do not seek out or invite conflict. So while I don't love wearing a mask, I do so when necessary. And I expect establishments that mandate these policies to enforce them ACROSS THE BOARD. This was not the case at Lifetime. While the staff always wore theirs as required, there were many ocassions when someone who refused to wear theirs would literally walk right up to a staff and start a dialogue, and that staff could not muster the cajones to confront the member on their refusal to wear a mask. The icing on the cake was when the mask mandate was finally lifted last month and we received an email notifying us of the changes. The email explained that masks will no longer be mandated, but don't worry Lifetime will be (and I am paraphrasing here) "continuing to maintain its unparalleled level of cleanliness and sanitation efforts.." (something to that effect). Well let me offer you two photographs that will tell you everything you need to know about this unparalleled level of cleanliness..

I ignored the warnings and for the first year or two, this location proved everyone wrong. It was welcoming, clean, and genuinely enjoyable. The staff were fantastic, and the general manager, Lorette, was exceptional: accommodating, kind, professional, and clearly invested in creating a positive environment. Then corporate energy showed up. Over the last 4-5 months, this gym has taken a sharp turn downhill. Whoever is calling the shots above the GM level seems determined to dismantle everything that actually worked. Great, experienced staff were pushed out and replaced with undertrained, disengaged employees, and the entire vibe shifted from friendly and community-oriented to cold and transactional. The few long-term employees who remain deserve medals. They're basically holding together a shipwreck with good attitudes and professionalism, and it's obvious they care--despite leadership making their jobs harder than necessary. The newest round of hires gives some hope, but let's be real: hope doesn't fix bad leadership. If the people in charge continue prioritizing numbers over people, this gym is going to lose what made it special. Corporate may not notice from their offices, but members do and many of us won't stick around forever.

I couldn't say no to a special work out geared to teachers, and I was excited to try out this new facility as it was near my house. As soon as I enter the door, I was welcomed by a few of the staff members. I quickly signed up and registered for the class. By registering, it kick started a free week of classes to use after the workout class offered. What a nice, clean facility! They have plenty of clean bathrooms, showers, and lockers for you to place your things. The lighting is great in there, as everything looks very bright. They have tons of workout equipment including tires, weights, any kind of dumbbell--you name it. I attended a Boot Camp session, and we were coached by a very nice gal. Because the workout class was small, I felt like the coach could help me really learn the true form needed in a work out. I felt very encouraged and really appreciated the one on one attention. This is one of the first D1 facilities in Cincinnati. In fact, there are only two locations in Ohio, Cincinnati and Columbus. Check them out!! Thanks to the super friendly staff for making me feel so welcomed and for offering such a fun and encouraging workout! I really appreciated the follow up text message the next day, too.

Don't look down lol but the decent from any point is safe with the cables. Trusting them is half the battle but once you're at the top you don't have much choice, that didn't stop me from pulling on the harness after every step lol. Multiple courses, one room with the harness and one without for free climbing, even though the free climbing is only like 10 ft tall (also I think it's called bouldering) it was still fun to try to strategically climb them without cheating. We warmed up on the treadmills and then since there were 6 of us, Megan set up six stations/exercise for 1 minute of work and we did this two times. Then, she set up a second round. We finished with ab work. During this time, there was only one other trainer working with one person and they finished before we were done. It was a fast and fun workout that wasn't boring. My fear with boot camps is it is a way for trainers to be lazy and just throw out some dumb bells and jump rope and say have at it for X minutes. If I wanted to do that, I'd go to my garage with a workout I found on Pinterest. This workout used sandbags, plyo boxes, medicine balls, resistance bands, TRX, bosu and the usual jump ropes, dumb bells and mat floor work.
