We used to go to Life Time years ago. We moved out of state and there was no Life Time where we lived. We moved back to Texas and decided to get a membership. Unfortunately the overall quality of the place has declined. You can tell by the equipments that are not well maintained, the lack of cleanliness in some restrooms, the type of people who go to that location and their behavior... the overall Life Time experience is not what it used to be. I like this location its nowhere as busy as the "Big" one on Will Clayton. This location is built on the footprint of the former "Q" gyms (showing my age) so many of the amenities that are standard in a facility built in the last 10 years aren't necessarily here as they don't have the space or couldn't fit it in the layout. Place is fairly busy in the AM till around 9 and picks up again around 5-7PM in the evenings. However even during their peak times you can still do much of what you want to do. Contract is pretty straight forward but you do have to ride them to cancel that darn magazine. read more

I so much want to rejoin this club, farther then I want to go, but it is a nice facility by nd large. But reading the reviews below, and really no seeing any efforts or comments from the club to improve makes me question. Then when you realize what the membership is now, it is just to much to pay. If I lived closer, and went daily maybe, but it would be over $10 a visit if you ave 3 times a week. There is a Fitness project 2 min from my hours, that is $20 a month, is it as nice no, does it haev all of the amenities no, but it is less then $2 a visit if I go 3 times a week. Lifetime, I know there is inflation, but rising your rates is hurting you, unless you have enough members, maybe you should re think this. Finally, I also agree with comments below in regards to customer service and just general politeness, most not all, I intertac with act like there doing me a favor by answering a question or providing customer service. Absolutely the WORST option for a day pass, so many more gyms in atascocita/kingwood that are better for day passes - checking in takes at minimum 10 minutes, no joke, you have to make an account, type everything, including your card info to pay, and take a picture - totally unnecessary for a day pass - in fact it's called a day membership - 32.48 for 24 hours and to come back you have to log back into your account there is no receipt to just show and come back - absolutely no thought given to customers and front staff are rude with no social skills to have a conversation, they just stand there and stare, gym in general is small, not a lot of good gym etiquette and no full basketball court, very cramped and unkind treatment for over 30 dollars for 24 hours. I use to work here and previously loved it - and I can honestly say things have changed and the gym, the people, and how they treat their customers is sad. read more

I've enjoyed being a member here. There are an abundance of classes to take. Some require extra payments, which isn't my favorite. Memberships here are already quite pricey. The equipment is always nicely maintained and there are an abundance of different machines. The ellipticals are a bit worn (especially in the foot pad areas) but that's probably because they are constantly used nonstop. The locker room for females (the only one I've been in) is really nice and you have large lockers available. I like that hair dryers and huge mirrors with counters are provided. read more

I wish this review could be more positive, as I have for the past 5 years been a Lifetime Fitness - Diamond Member. I recently bought a house in Kingwood and downgraded my membership to Gold, with the expectation that exceptional (or at least adequate) customer service by Lifetime staff would be upheld. This was anything but the case. The front desk staff were unwelcoming, rude, misinformed about club policies, passive-aggressive, and the child care staff offered unsolicited advice on how my child should be cared for. These negligent and discriminatory behaviors exhibited by most every staff member on a consistent basis led me to cancel my membership with Lifetime Fitness-Kingwood, leaving a bitter stain of anguish and complete disregard for the brand I was once so loyal to. read more

Lifetime Fitness - Lake Houston. This place is mismanaged to a degree of unprecedented embarrassment. The family locker room is often patronized by creepy old guys and staff hiding during their breaks. The lockers in the male locker room are a self-set combo type that operate inconsistently so patrons are oft left waiting around for up to 20 minute in my experience for staff to come around because there is no phone available to notify staff. It's an embarrassment to have to traverse the club in a towel, nude beneath and barefoot to get access to your locker. As a 100% disabled, decorated wartime veteran and 25 year US Navy retiree, I'm saddened to say that they cancelled my contract because I complained about things that should come standard. They don't consider kids bullying other kids a grown up problem and they don't feel the customer having access to his locker is of a high priority. Their outside pool is not open to children because the cost of lifeguard isn't covered in hour steep monthly bill. The management problem starts at the top. I personally relayed my request for accommodations to Jerry the GM and he all but ignored them. Once it became a sore issue requiring attention, they actually cancelled my contract to quiet me. This gym should certainly be a last option for any service member or veteran but any parent should be afraid to trust their child in such a situation. Looks polished on the outside but A V O I D!!! Be careful of money fraud! First acknowledge that people that are selling memberships work for commission and they will do everything to get you, even give misinformations and call you on your cellphone to convince you. If they finally get you in, everything that you are signing is wrapped up so you don't get the whole contract information. Signature is digital! They did not want to print out contract copy with excuse that printer didn't work. Gym is constantly packed. Long wait for machines. They did not cancel my membership when I wanted it, but said that they did. I ended up charged for 4 extra months not wen knowing it! (400$! ) Your information are being shared. I enjoy coming here to work out. The gym smells good and equipment is always clean.. Staff is great! Beyond Amazing! The SPA not too good. I went in there to inquire about their facial services. The aesthetician and the front desk lady didn't seem to want to sell their services to me. I had to like pull teeth to get them to want to sell me their service. That SpA really needs someone that is really into sales. Now I see why it always seems dead in there. I asked what kind of services do they provide? I was told, "We do massages and facials." In my head I was thinking, "Can these ladies go into details? It's a SPA. I know that... lol" I ended up walking away when I asked if they had a page where I can see the aesthetician work. Like IG page. The answer was, "Yes." And both looked at me. I waited for them to provide me with the page. . There was crickets. Nobody moved. Then I inquired about the IG page. Before you sign for membership, please note the following: 1. Lifetime Fitness is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau 2. They do not give you a printed copy of the contract, but instead ask you to sign digitally, so this is their copy of your signature on file. 3. This signature is the one they will use for all terms, even the automatic magazine subscription. 4. When you cancel specify that you do not need to have your membership on hold. This is so you dont get charged the automatic $10 monthly for a so called non-active fee (membership on hold at a monthly cost) even if you cancel your membership 4. THis is very important, ask for the printed copy of the contract before you sign . 5. READ THE FINE PRINTS. 6. The cancellation terms you read on their website is different from actual contract. 7. If you enroll for an annual membership you can only cancel through death, disability and relocation. 8. They process enrollment online very fast but you can only cancel through personal appearance plus sending of a certified letter by mail, plus the relocation, death, disability requirement for annual members. 9. As per their terms, it will take 30 days to deactivate/cancel membership. 10. Please research about complaints on lifetime fitness before signing 11. This gym is legit! Somebody posted that it's overcrowded and overpriced and junk. This gym is active after 5 PM just like every other gym, AND with this gym YOU get what you pay for. This place is super-clean, the equipment is very contemporary, and you will always have clean towels to use. The showers are taken care of religiously (unlike 24 HF -I felt like I was going to get scabies over there). The pool has 5 lanes -not two, the steam room has eucalyptus that comes out with the steam. The folks here make you the most baddest smoothie drinks on the planet. They have trainers & dieticians that coach you here. When I walk in, I'm greeted on a first name basis (granted I visit frequently) but fitness is a lifestyle. If you want to commit to getting fit, DO NOT waste your time and settle for these other sub-par mickey mouse gyms that are falling apart, stink, and are becoming raggedy. They do not live by standards for utilizing revenue to maintain their own house! Take care of yourself, THINK BIGGER, and join a real gym that's going to motivate you to get the results you need. Walking in was the beginning of a great experience, we treated very nicely by Brent, he showed us the entire facility and was able to notice that my husband and i were not newbies at the gym. He showed us everything we wanted. This gym has a sauna , steam room, great showers and clean bathrooms. An amazing locker room. All of the equipment is very up to date and modern. Everything i need in one place. We were told this place was a bit pricey, but we have paid more for a gym that didn't offer all these amazing amenities. This gym has been good in the past under different leadership. The host that work in the front of check in are very rude to me and my family. I have told them that I have a disability and can not wear a mask. The club knows of my disability and I have told them multiple times that I can not wear one. The lady named Bailey started yelling at me in a very unprofessional manner and told me to leave the gym that I have been a member of for 8 years. The front staff can not treat customers this way. This place should be shut down for running at 100 percent instead of 50 percent. I pay for 3 people in my account and if this continues I will take my business where I am appreciated. read more

I want to give this gym 5 stars. I really do. It's a great gym as far as the facility and availability goes. Always clean, lots to do, awesome selection of classes at great times, reasonable membership costs. But a lot of the staff at this location are incompetent and some of the policies are ridiculous. Rules apparently change according to who is working. There have been at least a half a dozen times when I have inquired about something and been given false/wrong information or not given enough information only to be "scolded" later by another staff member or totally screwed over because of making a choice with incorrect information. Fraud!! High pressure sell on memberships. They sign you up for a magazine that you know nothing about and add to your monthly fee. They Pressure you to pay for a trainer, classes not included, spa, food and drinks. They focus on how much more money they can make off of you above the membership. Amazing!!!! I really love this gym. It's a little smaller than the Atascocita location, but doesn't lack any of the amenities. Lifetime Fitness Lake Houston: I have been trying to get my membership cancelled for over a year now. I even supplied them with a doctor's note (2011) and they still have not cancelled my account they put it on "FREEZE". I've spoken/emailed a total of 3 managers since: Ryan Brister (which conveniently no longer works there), Nicole Artavia (never responded to my emails), and Haley which refused to give me her last name or last name initial when I told her I would be reporting her very rude and belligerent attitude to her corporate office. I am no longer dealing with them and have filed a claim and a stop payment request with my bank which costs me $30. Sad to say this is how they treat you after spending over $2,000 in membership fees plus bootcamp (which is an additional cost). read more

Love this gym, been a member for 3 years now, and even though I live in Oakhurst and it takes me about 30 minutes to get there each day, I couldn't ask for better childcare, friendlier staff and the amazing friends I have made with fellow members. Not sure what a previous poster was talking about with canceling a membership, my husbands account was on hold and when we decided he was never going to go, we canceled his membership with no issues, none! With the cheaper gyms I have been a member at in the past, I would have had to write a letter to their corporate office to cancel. Lifetime is worth every cent, and it should be noted, that I go in the morning, so I am not sure how crowded it gets after 5 because I never go at that time. I am sure, like most gyms, it gets crowded, but even if I did go at that timeframe, it wouldn't bother me. I still love this gym, and will continue to be a member. As for the people that have made complaints about the customer service, there are new managers at the facility, but I never had issues with the previous manager. read more

Our family has enjoyed our membership at Lifetime in Kingwood so much. The club has a great variety of classes and equipment. The staff is also very professional and warm. One stand out instructor there is Heather. She teaches C9, Hydro, and spin. She is one of the best instructors I've encountered in my 20 history of gym experience. She builds relationships with each attendee and has a keen eye for giving personal instruction tips. I am always excited to attend her classes and thoroughly enjoy my visits to Lifetime as a whole! read more

Let me just start off by stating that I loved this gym. I am a daily member here and have always had great service. The Yoga instructors are my favorite and they are the ONLY reason why I may return to the gym. However, I think that management needs to understand the needs of their customers a little more. I have not been at the gym for about 2 months due to a family emergency that took me out of state. I am now staying out of state for an extended amount of time to take care of family members. When I originally left Sugar Land the last thing I was thinking about was freezing my gym membership, however, I just saw another charge on my account and thought to myself "Let me call my favorite gym and see if they can just freeze until I return." Seems really simple right? Um NO! I was transferred around and was told the ONLY WAY I could freeze was if I came in in person. Really understanding... NOT! I am in COLORADO!! I cannot believe the way they would treat a loyal customer. I loved this gym and it makes me so sad that they are doing this. I even spoke with a supervisor and asked if my husband could come in and freeze it for me.... NOPE! I even asked to speak to the manager and of course NOT AVAILABLE but the supervisor was able to place me on hold and speak to him for me!!! HOW RUDE! I really truly thought Lifetime was different and now I guess not. It used to be a classy, customer friendly establishment and now they are just out to make a dime. I would never recommend this gym to anyone. You are better off going to somewhere else where they value their customers and treat them with respect. read more
