I quit my membership here today. I was warming up on a vacant assault bike when a Lifetime employee tapped me on the shoulder and said, "We're doing a workout here and we need that bike." This trainer obviously cared about her client's workout, but I was trying to do a workout too!! Also, this was not the first time I got kicked off of equipment by a trainer at Lifetime. I don't pay $120 per month to be treated this way. It's a shame this is the best gym in the area in terms of equipment and amenities. I love this place Sammy, Lexy, Kevin are always on point. don't forget Sylvia In the food place. They make me feel so comfortable like I'm where I belong. Never feeling uneasy or uncomfortable even when I come in that way. there's everything here shakes and food salon pool basketball courts awesome bath steam sauna just everything especially if you have kids. I am a bit shocked by some of the negative reviews. At this particular Life Time Fitness, I have never had any major issues. My 4 year old loves the Kids academy. They have an indoor/outdoor playground, a place for the kids to watch movies, do arts and crafts, and in the back there is a mini gym! The pools make the membership completely worth the price in my opinion. Both pools have slides that lead into the pool, but at this particular LT I've never seen the indoor slide running. It's such a great place to hang out at and relax. You can order food and make a day out of being here. The gym is great, especially in regards to social distancing. Currently, every other cardio machine is unusable in order to space everyone out. I can't imagine other gyms doing that and still have the ability for every member to use the machine they want. There is never a shortage of cardio machines! The weight lifting side is fine but I really haven't seen the staff clean much of anything here. It seems like right now it's really up to the members to ensure we sanitize our own stuff. The current hand sanitizer they're using is pungent and quite frankly gross, but overall my family loves this gym. I have been going to this club for at least 5 years and still find it's policies about lap pool usage for adults to be bizarre and driven the economics of the private equity firm that owns it. The indoor lap pool is too cold, even in the summer, and seems only to be there for people to cool down from the sauna. The outdoor lap pool is used at prime time by the "swim team", because "Gilbert", and then every sunday evening is closed by mysterious weather disturbances such as "wind". It is also closed by poop because they can't seem to police the children of the wealthy. Thankful for nearby public pools such as Kiwanis Rec that don't have any of these issues. read more

I don't even want to give them one star. I was in AZ unfortunately because my Dad died. I went to lifetime to see what options I had for the time I was there. You should also know I was a founding member years ago. The guy at the front desk couldn't have been less empathetic. He reluctantly let me work out that one day but then proceeds to tell me it is $100 for a week. Really? So I went to EoS. Liv at the front desk couldn't have been nicer!!! Their membership for a week was $35 and they were ALL so nice there. I am not sure what happened to this place but you may get more members if your front desk guy was kind and helpful. my husband and I have been Life Time members for about six years. we absolutely love the kids academy. Everyone at the kids academy is friendly and personable. They always go the extra mile. It's comforting knowing that my daughter is in great hands! Not only is the kids Academy Amazing the staff and personal trainers are exceptional. we've had made many wonderful friends at the gym. Lifetime Fitness has become a second home for us. in addition, Ive never had an issue being kicked off any of the equipment. just be mindful of the classes going on and you'll be good to go read more

I've been going here for a month now and I really like it. It is currently $99 a month for full access to the gym/club. This includes the stream room, sauna, indoor pools, outdoor pools, hot tubs, full workout gear (machines/free weights) and a handful of classes. Was a member at lifetime for over 4 years during the pandemic they couldn't bill my card due to their inability to tell me I checked into multiple clubs for over 3 months NO ONE STOPPING ME. Then was told I had to get a new membership for expensive the account manager Noah wouldn't waive my fee or give me my old rate and they just wanted to take more money from me. Alright, so, I have to admit I was only going on a friends guest pass for the sauna and steam room. I was hopeful that these two would assist in detoxing me enough that I would quit smoking. I had been enough times that I decided to purchase a 5 day package of passes for myself. This way I didn't have to wait for when my friend was available. I love the steam room and sauna. Though, the number of guest who work out in the sauna is a bit surprising and at times a little distracting to the relaxation I'm seeking. That's my own thing though. Upon expiration of my passes they contacted me to learn about why I had only purchased the few visits that I had. The gentleman on the phone informed me that they would be running a black Friday special in which they would be waving the sign up fees. When black Friday came, I couldn't help but to purchase a membership for my son and I. Admittedly, I could have found another gym that would likely have cost a little less monthly. However, the services they provide at Lifetime and the facilities themselves are well worth it. I have had some interaction with a few of the staff members and they are all very accommodating and kind. I have since signed up for sessions with a trainer and again, though a bit pricey, I feel the benefits already. The Kid loves hanging out/playing in the basketball courts while I'm doing my work out. The staff opened the locked bathroom stall while my child was using the restroom, when I tried to talk to the management they don't care this is a violation of personal and private rights and they don't s the Ms concerned at all. Beware do not let your children be in the bathroom area or anywhere else alone. I thought because the bathroom is separate she would be safe. That's not the case. My daughter doesn't want to go back there again so now we have to drive to another location further due to the incompetence and lack of training or taking responsibility. Very disgusting employee nighttime in the front of the door this is not about the front desk guy but there is people next to the front desk. They working at Lifetime. I can tell from the clothes laying down over the corner, other guy he's sleeping in the couch. I don't know what to say. Only I can say I never seen Lifetime like that. One thing crummy is that I fell and broke my patella in the foyer in November, and no one came to write a report, and I was lying on the floor for 30 minutes. I am rating LTF Gilbert five stars not completely on the club where it is right now, but on the direction it is going. I recently received a survey from LTF as a newer member and gave it some low marks in some areas of the club which I thought needed improvement while complementing other areas of LTF Gilbert that were running smoothly. To my surprise, the operations manager Liz Purnell emailed me asking if I could talk with her on the phone or at the club about my comments. Liz and I met at the LTF Cafe last week and had a great discussion. I really like her professionalism, commitment to making this older club better and positive results oriented attitude and work ethic. Absolutely LOVE this place! We chose it based off of the amazing childcare program, and it has not disappointed. The staff is amazing, there are great options for workout equipment, and our kiddo always has something to do. Our last gym just played tv for the kids, and it was important to us that our toddler was able to play and learn while we worked out! We sign him up for classes everyday (toddler circle time, arts and crafts, gym games, etc), and he loves it. Better than a preschool! Such a win win for him and for us. read more

The indoor pool has been closed for far too long - they should have done the upgrade in the fall, when it is more comfortable to use the outdoor pool. Also, they never communicate well. There is no date when the pool will reopen ( one of the main reasons I joined in the first place). read more

I joined Lifetime Fitness 2 months ago and I don't regret my decision. I believe the gym has gone above and beyond to meet state regulations, keep their members/staff safe, and still grant their members the ability to exercise. I have been attending the outdoor classes by the lap pool and my favorite classes to attend are Brooke and Rob's HIIT class as well as Angie's Glute Maxout every Thursday morning. I was really looking forward to visiting this gym, but after the rude customer service I experienced today I will never return. I won a one month family pass to the gym from a school raffle. I was super stoked and saved it for the summertime when I knew I'd fully be able to utilize the pass with my kids. I walked in today with the pass. Initially I was greeted by the girl at the font desk. I told her why I was there. She took the pass from me, eyed it for a while then says "I don't think you'll be able to redeem this pass." Super confused I asked why? There was no expiration date on the pass. She said that she would have to call her manager, Jason, down to help me. Ok, so I wait. He shows up, and right away was rude to me. He looks at the pass and says "when did you get this?" So I explained I won it from a school raffle and was looking forward to using it with my kids. He then says, "Are you looking to join the gym, or just looking to cash in on a freebie?" I was so confused at first. I explained to him that I didn't know yet if I would be joining because it was my first time stepping foot in the gym and I didn't know anything about it yet. He then proceeds to waste my time telling me that he cannot honor my pass, even though there was no expiration date on it. That is was company policy not to accept the pass anymore and that it was only good for one person anyway. I told him the pass clearly states "family" on it. Fine print even said couple or family. I told him if he was unable to help me that I would just take my pass and leave. He then refused to give it back to me. "Why do you want it? It's not valid any longer." That's ok, I'll take it back anyway. "Well you don't need it since it's company policy not to accept these and you won't be able to use it anywhere else." I grabbed it out of his hand and left the building promptly. All can say is "wow!" I never expected to be treated so rudely by a manger, and someone who calls himself a professional. You should be ashamed Lifetime Fitness for employing someone who treats potential new customers so rudely. read more

When LifeTime Tempe closes down for maintenance/renovations ... I head to LifeTime Gilbert, which is the next closet location for me. LifeTime Gilbert is essentially a mirror image of the Tempe location, but it does seem to be a bit different to me for some reason ... I feel like the lighting and over all feel of the Gilbert club is a bit dim/dreary. One of the biggest differences I noticed the other night is that the Tempe location has outdoor tennis courts and squash indoor. I don't think the Gilbert club has any tennis courts outdoors, and they have racquet ball courts instead of squash indoor. Most of the other amenities at the Gilbert location are similar to that of Tempe for the most part to my knowledge... For some reason when I've been to the Gilbert Club I just haven't felt the same upbeat vibe energy that I feel when I'm @ the Tempe or N. Phx/Scottsdale location ... It's hard for me to put my finger on exactly why it seems different, but it does. I did notice there was an horrid smell when entering the Men's locker room in Gilbert the other night though ... Kinda gross and never smelled anything like that ever in Tempe or Scottsdale. Maybe the Gilbert club feels like it's not as well kept.... As I said, the Gilbert club definitely becomes my default since it's closer than the other two clubs. If I lived further out East in Chandler or Gilbert I would absolutely rather come here than the other local athletic clubs, and I believe that LifeTime Gilbert may be the only full service gym/athletic club out east that is open 24/7, so it earns a solid 4 star; very good rating from me! ;) read more

I recently moved from Texas. WE have been member with Lifetime for 4 years. All Texas locations are the best gym clubs one can find. Gilbert, AZ location is the worst so far when it comes to cleanliness and keeping up. Bathrooms stink and steam room is very dirty every time I have been there. Corporate from Texas clubs need to come visit AZ and fix these clubs. I am cancelling my membership today and on lookout for better options. read more

Let me start off by saying, that I am a 63-year-old African-American male. I joined Gilbert Lifetime Fitness in 2004. My motivation to join was driven by my desire to relieve job-related stress (I work as a commissioned corps pharmacist). On Saturday 2/4/23 I arrived at the gym before 7:30 A.M. to do my weekly 30-minute ride on the stationary bike. During the last minute of my ride a White man approached me. He identified himself as the manager and knew my first and last name. His complaint was that I was breathing too loud and if I could keep it down, because he has been receiving complaints from member(s) on Saturdays. I told him, that was not possible (I train at 80-90% effort, averaging anywhere from 26-27 mph). I suggested, that I could start my ride when the gym opens (5:00 A.M. on the weekends), but he suggested that I find a bike facing the wall or use the spin class room. I have never received a complaint from management during my nearly 19 years of membership. My questions are: 1. Why didn't he give me the benefit of the doubt in lieu of my complaint-free membership? 2. Why did he immediately take the side of the member(s) who were complaining? The only thing I could think of is that the personal attack was racially motivated (working out while Black). When I told my daughter she became very upset and wanted me to terminate her membership. She also felt the attack had racial undertones. This event was extremely traumatizing. This country is deeply divided and situations like this don't help us to bridge the divide. read more

How can you go wrong with a pool, gym, spa... Best gym in AZ. Little pricey. But worth every penny

I'm here because it's so close to my home. Nice amenities. Love the sauna set up. Good amount of equipment, gym space and plenty of classes. But member beware, you are a mark every step that you take in this facility. It's one thing to be informed of services but another to be blasted on them over and over and over again. I have a a wife and two kids enrolled and it's like living in the spam filter on your inbox but with high pressure trial close tactics that won't stop. And gosh forbid you have any of their "LT Bucks" in your account-you'll be hit up on them from the day care center to the sales people in suites to the coaches on the floor to your email inbox. It's like walking into that scene in Minority Report where the ads start attacking you . read more

I have been going here for a while and I must say that the facilities here are superb. There are tons of machines, stair steppers, and treadmills, most within reasonable distance of a TV if you want to watch something while you work out. It is a two floor facility with racquetball courts, pools, reception, etc residing on the first floor, and the second floor is purely a workout area. I have tried both the inside and outside pools and both are nice. The inside pool is heated and has dedicated lanes so they are perfect for those wanting to swim laps. I have never really been one for gym cafes but the one here is actually pretty good. They have a good selection of protein shakes, smoothies, and the low-cal meals are actually worth the price. The monthly cost is higher than other gyms, but you get so much more included. For instance, the showers/towels/use of the sauna is all covered in the membership. Did I mention that the sauna is lavender-scented? Because everything is included, I have found myself spending more time at the gym. Some weights, watch some TV on the exercise bike, take a shower, spend some time in the sauna, have a healthy meal in the cafe, then go home or back out afterwards. The net-net of spending more time at the gym has contributed to me losing five pounds in the last four months. Sure, this gym costs more, but that shouldn't matter if you get results. read more

Gym is always extremely crowded in all areas of the gym. I was playing basketball with my son and one of the other men on the court stole my AirPods right off the bench where my hat was. I asked the manager to check the cameras to find out who stole them and they said that the manager who has access to the cameras won't be in until tomorrow. Either they will find out who stole them and convince him to give them back or else they will buy me new ones. If not, I will be joining vasa fitness where they don't have thuggish thieves lurking around the basketball court. I joined Vasa fitness in Chandler and I love it! I love this place. The kid's academy hours included in the membership make it a deal for any parent to have fun and play while you can work out, use the steam room, etc. We love the outdoor pool too. They offer 'parents night out' twice a month. I use the lap pool and treadmill, spa, cafe, and steamroom. My daughter loves the summer camp. This place helps keep me sane when the temps are 100+ for sure. read more
