Parking: This gym is located in a shopping center, therefore the parking is shared with nearby stores. I don't see parking ever becoming an issue, unless one of the nearby stores have a huge sale or something.. 4 stars. Front Desk Staff: Employee was very friendly and asked if I needed anything. I asked for directions to the locker room. Employees seem to by nice. 5 stars. Locker Rooms: Area was well-kept and clean. Locker room was on the small side, which could be concerning during a rush. Might have to wait for a shower or have a little trouble finding a locker. Just something to think about. 4 stars. Weight room: The whole gym feels a little dated, but it's nice. I liked it. This gym had everything I need to get a full workout as a bodybuilding competitor, EXCEPT for a Hack-Squat which is essential for quad development. 4 stars. This is a good gym. 4 stars. read more

It's 150 dollars for a membership and I can't even bring my wife with me every day I wouldn't recommend this just go to a different gym.

This gym is clean and welcoming. The locker rooms are a good size as well as the sauna. I have tried out a handful of gyms around the columbus area and this is one of the best by far. read more

A "Life Time" of waiting. What can I say? I wanted to give this location a shot, but I couldn't get anyone to help me or take my money for a day pass. **This location only** Here's what happened. It was DOWN-POURING rain outside, I had just gotten into town after a long drive (I was just moving into town) and was looking for a gym where I could not just get a workout in, but also hopefully find somewhere to sign up that was close to where I would be living. The whole "raining" thing will make a difference in a moment. I sprinting from my car, walk in, walk up to the front desk and shared I was just looking to try out the club as I just moved into town. The rep shared I would need to speak with a membership consultant, who happened to be the manager, and she would send them right up. I sat down in the waiting area while I waited. And waited....and waited. This gave me a moment to look around and, first, determine that I don't know how this location could command the price of a Life Time as it's not as nice inside a other Life Time's I have visited in the past and is in a strip mall, but I digress. I'm still waiting...15 mins goes by so I finally walk back up to the desk, excuse myself (the receptionist is talking to one of the members making it kind of awkward) and ask how much longer it would be before someone came to speak with me (it was getting late). She said it would be soon, but I was eager to get a workout in and am not looking for a free ride, so I asked if I could just pay for a day pass and speak with someone after? She shared that was not an option but they would be right with me. If waiting was a workout, I would be a try-athlete. Finally, after waiting for another "Life Time" and weighing whether or not I really wanted to go back out in the pouring rain and ditch my sought after workout, I got up, headed towards the door, made it a point to thank the receptionist in hopes they would step up to the plate, and left. Did she make any attempt to stop me, share that she would get someone to speak with me or simply take my money for a day pass? You guessed it - nah. Overall, while I may have wanted to join, or even pay an exorbitant day fee, it's not really that important. I would say I would try again but spending another 30+ minutes sitting in a lobby doesn't really sound appealing. PS. This was smack dab in the middle the pandemic when you would think fitness centers cherished opportunities to satisfy customers. **I shared that this review is for this location only as I have visited the Life Time in Dublin and they were EXCELLENT!!** read more

First: read Fen Z,'s letter. I too would like re-evaluate my relationship with LFF. I have been a member for, wow!, 6 years now. I began with the downtown location the moved to the 'burbs and frequented the Henderson Rd. location. I was one of the lucky ones to breathe the stale old Lazarus air and be poked with the clothes pins still clinging to the trampled, dirty carpet. Eww. I am actually pretty happy that I joined so long ago and that I purchased the multi-gym membership. I have access to all locations and my monthly fee (gasp) is only $23.49. Increase twice. Once for club improvements and once for the fairly new service tax. Unfortunately, this price is the only reason I am still a member. I no longer live in the suburbs, and have since joined another gym closer to my home (in addition to LFF, I love my options). LFF is, for me, the place to go when I need to run errands, as well as a few foot miles. TJ Maxx is right across the street, Marc's is next door and Aldi's is less than a mile away. For convenience sake, LFF is the place! But beware. Not everyone there is there for the same reasons. Some are actually working out (shocker), some are there to socialize, some to show-off and others are there seeking their next date. For a motivated, uninterrupted, gawk and flirt-free work-out, go elsewhere. read more

Reasonably priced, clean, decent hours, good assortment of free weights/machines, equipment well maintained. I typically work out in the middle of the day so I'm not sure how crowded this place gets during early mornings and late afternoons. I don't really understand the complaints about music.....most people have smartphones and headphones. Problem solved. I do wish they had a traditional hack squat machine and a machine bench press with neutral grips, but these are hardly dealbreakers. read more

Nice gym and nice people but they need to close during the coronavirus situation. Management is being very stubborn. Every piece of equipment is handled by hundreds of people every day and very few wipe the handles or screens down after they are done, so the risk of infection is present. I had a fantastic experience with life time through covid 19. Tray (his last name may be Ryan) was the best customer service rep/ trainer / that I have ever encountered. I canceled my membership twice (nothing due to lifetime) and he made it super easy for me. The gyms themselves are really great (especially dublin). Tray was amazing. I swear I've been to every gym in Columbus and none of them compare to this one. The equipment is always updated and I never have issues with things being out of service. This is also one of the cleanest gyms I've been to. But, what really makes this gym stand out among all the others, is the Manager Tre. He always has the biggest smile and he always seems to know every person in the gym. Most gym managers are super nice UNTIL they get you signed up, so its refreshing to see a manager going beyond. read more

Dear LFF, After 2.5 years, I think it's time we re-evaluate our relationship. You've seen me sans make-up, red-faced, and sweating enough to look like I've just dived into a pool, but yet you have stayed loyal and faithful all these years. To say you're a keeper would be an arrant understatement. You have provided me with an ample amount of cardio machines and have introduced me to the Stair Master that never fails to whip me back in shape. You have lured me to strength train 2-3 times/week by placing enticing machines with equally tempting names within eye shot from my favorite elliptical. ButtBlaster rolls off your tongue much like SexyBack. You have led me to discover muscles I never knew existed in my own body thanks to your Total Body Conditioning classes. Call me a quitter for dropping out after two classes, but I've got my workout routine and I hate to stray from it. You have expanded my social bubble by acquainting me with folks of different backgrounds and interests. Thanks to you, I have made many lifelong friends. Despite all of the aforementioned good qualities, I think it'd be best if we go our own separate ways. Life Time - Gyms Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

Location is great: Marc's is next door, TJ Maxx across the street, and it's relatively close to 315. The gym itself, well, it isn't horrible. They have a good amount of machines, free weights, and some nontraditional gym equipment. It is also rarely crowded to the point of waiting for machines...but, well, there is just sometimes a weird vibe. Most are there to phone in their workouts. Staring at others is their true workout. I always feel watched when I am here. The staff is friendly, but not always cheerful. Plus, they love Justin Bieber. So, there's that.... read more

I know the reviews are a bit mixed but I actually rather enjoy this gym. I joined it a few months ago and haven't looked back since. I've never had trouble with equipment availability, it's always brilliantly clean, and the staff there have been nothing but cordial with me at every turn. Thus far I truly don't have any complaints. Recently I've taken into making use of one of the trainers on staff as well. So far I've found this to be a positive experience and hopefully it will only accelerate me to my current fitness goals. As of now I'm quite pleased with the decision to partake of this service and likely will for some time into the future. read more

Everyone who works here that I've interacted with - from the front-desk, main manager to the yoga-instructor(s) and cleaning and maintenance persons - are pretty personable and friendly. The place is kept clean and fresh for the most part. The variety of weights and training machines and quality of equipment is top-notch. I had a good experience with a morning Yoga class until my work-schedule changed. Some pretty serious downside is that the music piped in from corporate headquarters is REMARKABLY terrible and plastic and grating and unbelievably repetitive. Don't bother complaining: One of the scary and creepy elements (seemingly right out of the novel Big Brother) is that local personnel or management allegedly have NO control over music content OR volume. Yikes. Other than that, I do wish the attendants would enforce the "No dropping of weights" policy - because it gets obnoxiously loud from that sometimes. Finally, though I acknowledge the fact that they are a bit pricey - I've always felt I got my money's worth at this place. To be clear - I got "grandfathered" in at a lower price because Life Time had bought out a previous competitor where I was already a member. read more

The staff was friendly and helpful as I was just looking for somewhere to work out while traveling through the area. They gave me a one day pass for free since we are military and I appreciate that. The treadmills all had TV's attached which I do not care for and there were not enough benches in the weight area. Otherwise the facility was very clean, towels provided, lots of equipment to choose from, classes, and childcare make this a good gym for families. read more

This gym is only going to work long term for people who don't mind if LifeTime corporate increases fees without communication of any kind. The staff at the gym is nice but claim they have no control. The fee structure is designed to get a payment (or extend membership) with every action a customer takes... signing up, remaining a member, putting membership on hold -- and, finally, quitting (best $40 I spent all week)! I'm sure it's all part of the contract you sign at the beginning. But it doesn't make it feel any better. Financial stress is something I avoid as part of my total health. I hope this company changes these practices to better align with their aspirational brand. read more

I am in the Marines and stationed in California. My family lives in Columbus and unfortunately my grandma is dying so I had to take emergency leave to come see her. I still wanted to work out so I came here because it looked good and was close. I was honest with the manager (Greg) and instead of saying I was thinking about joining and wanted a free pass to try it out I said I was active duty in town for a family emergency. He was happy to help me and give me the pass even though he knows I won't be able to be a member. After using the gym (free weights and cables) I was definitely impressed. It was extremely clean and organized. I'll be back the next few days and can't wait for that sauna too. If I was to move here I would gladly give them my business. read more

I had a membership here for a few months and had to cancel for no fault of LFF. I loved the location because it was close to my home and the atmosphere was friendly. There is a vast array of cardio equipment as well as a half way decent amount of free weights and machine aided work out equipment. This is definitely not a hardcore body builder gym but it isn't a "foo-foo" cardio only chick joint either. read more

I love this gym! I have been a member since July 2015. I don't want to go anywhere else. Love the yoga classes and that the gym is never packed. I never have to wait to use equipment. Everything is always clean and I love that the lockers have built in locks. I hope it never goes up in price though because it's already a little pricey, but worth it at this time! I moved to Columbus in Jan 2013 and started working out here almost immediately. I didn't have a job, but I wanted to stay busy so working out (almost across the street) made a lot of sense. Signing up at Lifetime Fitness was a great decision. The equipment is clean and kept in good shape and the same goes for the locker rooms. They have good programs to help you get in shape, like they will test your body fat and other basics to give you a starting point to see how far you go overtime. I got my metabolism and heart tested to see my perfect heart rate during cardio workouts to maximize fat burning. The trainers, maintenance, and administrators are all very nice, friendly, and they seem to really want you to get in shape. They also really know what they are doing when it comes to customer service. I wouldn't doubt it if everyone that works there is required to work out and stay fit, sort of a "self-fulfilling prophecy"? Like going there and seeing nothing but friendly, good-looking people will make you think that that is what you'll look like in the future. That was the only odd observation that I got from this place. Other gyms that I've been to aren't like that so I think they're hiring certain people on purpose. It's not a bad thing at all, I just noticed it and wanted to share. Anyway, this is a great gym and I highly recommend signing up if you've just moved to Upper Arlington or aren't satisfied with your old gym. read more

I like this gym... Has all of the equipment I need and it's always functioning and clean. The locker room is nice and the staff members are friendly. I like the barbell fitness and spinning classes. The class schedule could be better- wish there was more early morning and evening (after 6) options. The personal training and special group classes are way out of my price range! I don't usually do Yelp reviews -- but I must say that I want to commend Lifetime Fitness in Upper Arlington. I have been a member for a year. Not only are the classes great and the employees friendly and helpful, but they are honest and easy to work with. They recently made a very minor mistake for an extra-class billing. When I pointed it out, they were quick to apologize and do the refund. I'm not used this -- guess I'm used to companies trying to insist they made no mistake, refuse to give refunds, etc. This was a quick and easy interaction. As I said, I would recommend them to anyone, and I have been a member of several health clubs. I've had the best experience here than anywhere. read more

Run (for free) The Other Way!! I've been a member at this gym from the time it was originally Lifestyle Family Fitness. When Lifetime Fitness took over they made frivolous upgrades and cranked the prices. If shiny marble and cherry-esque locker rooms is all that is important to you, then enjoy. The staff is very hit or miss in friendliness and competence. It's also a revolving door for staff there, so this by no means helps. What you are told by one member is not necessarily the actual policy and that goes for every level of employee, from the desk staff to account managers and all the way up. While the equipment and general gym is kept rather clean the cardio machines with televisions are also hit or miss. Some have horrid pictures that looks like you are trying to use bunny ears in the middle of a forest, and the audio is a guessing game for which machine actually works. The two wonderful experiences I've had at Lifetime goes as such: 1) I signed up originally purchasing a slew of "points" that can be redeemed for personal training and/or workout options that are not included in your membership, such as pilates. I was basically scammed out of over $100. I used most of my points for personal training. The personal trainer I was ASSIGNED after requesting someone else, cashed in my points and then told me just to schedule with her whenever I wanted to. This was done in her mind because that way I wouldn't have to worry about my points expiring (which they do, even though you paid for each of them). Then the trainer quit. And my points went with her. I never received one minute of personal training from anyone. The small amount of points I had left (because they couldn't cover a personal training session) I requested for them to go to Pilates. However, the manager at the time really wanted me to do a small class session (probably because they were having a hard time filling them), I said I really wanted to try the pilates. Well, I was signed up for the group class anyway, and only found this out after contacting the Pilates instructor on why I hadn't been reached out-to to schedule my session. And after all that, my points expired. So over $100, just flushed down the toilet. Didn't matter how many times I attempted to reedem them I was basically ignored with a "I'll have to look into it" and never would hear anything. 2) After being a member for many years, I decided to cancel my membership as we are moving out of the city. When looking into cancelling so I could time it right, as I knew you would have to pay for an extra month after you cancelled, I was told you simply paid your next month in full. After cancelling (with a different employee) I was told it was 30 days from the time you cancelled and your rate would be prorated. Both would work, but not when you are told one way then make a decision based on that information, and then sign off your membership and are told another - leaving you without a membership for an entire month you still wanted one. But after you sign it's a done deal. Also when cancelling I asked about any fees or anything else to be aware of, I was told no. After checking my bank account I was actually being charged more money than I had been paying for my membership all along, even though it should have been a prorated amount, equalling less. I went into the gym and the Account Manager had no clue why it was like this and that it was very strange. I was told she would have to contact the Manager (of something or other) and that I should hear directly from her (the manager) a couple days later. An entire week went by and again I am having to follow up. The manager did not apologize or say anything to the fact that no one did their job for an entire week. After looking me up in the system she simply said, it's because you paid a discounted rate every month and for the last month you have to pay the full membership price. So for my last month I had to pay more than I had been paying the entire time I was a member (for years might I remind you). I said I was not told this and it was a very unwelcome surprise. She just said that the Account Manager who cancelled my membership who happened to be the same one I met with to review the charges, probably was unaware of the way it worked. Well that's splendid. At the end of the day she was unwilling to work with me in anyway, never apologized and basically left me with a "tough luck." So if you are interested in throwing your money away this is the place for you, they will happily take every dime and will make it easy for you with all of their misunderstandings, lack of communication and downright scams. I'd highly recommend saving your money and driving the extra couple minutes North to Planet Fitness which is a third of the price, or South to a small 24 hour gym on Tremont, which is also nearly half the price. The facilities are nice but this gym is lacking key pieces equipment critical for strength developement. That is not why I ranked this gym one star. It is far to expensive $65 a month. There are plenty of gyms in the area that offer well equiped clean facilities for $30 or less. The biggest reason for this rating is the disrespect you will suffer at the hands of the management and sales team. I have seen members get in trouble for helping one another out and being decent human beings. They dont allow members to be helpful to one another so they can sell there over priced personal training packages(This is where they make their fortune. Trainers get a very small percentage of the money they earn) that can be as expensive as $100 an hour. Long story short if you are a member here you will be seen as a dollar sign not a person. Please spend your money elsewhere you will have a much better fitness experience at a gym where you are treated with respect. Here are some gyms in the area that have: 1) A friendly knowledgeable staff 2) Good facilities 3) Memberships for under $30 a month 4) A friendly environment where members help each other 1. Aussie fit 2. Power shack 3. Urban active (recently bought by L.A. Fitness) 4. Metro fitness Im probably missing some, but the point is there are many options that will save you money and give you a better experience. read more

This gym is absolutely wonderful. I've been going to Lifetime for 2 months now, and recently switched from the Pickerington location to this location. The staff is friendly and the machines are clean (not that the Pickerington ones aren't, they are. It's a great club too) and the Upper Arlington location has more adults, and people come here to work out, not just kids sitting on their phones, which I appreciate. If you're looking into a membership, ask for Tre! He helped me with my membership switch and he absolutely charming and truly cares about his job and the gym he manages! read more

The gym itself equipment-wise is just okay. There are definitely other gyms out there that have better equipment and setup, but it gets the job done. However their customer service and pricing is SHADY!!!! After needing to freeze my account for a few months (which I've done at other gyms and it was not a big deal and a super easy process), and the over complicated and intrusive information they were asking for (i.e. a note from my doctor, and exactly when I would return to the gym- which I didn't know at the time), I was so frustrated I just wanted to cancel my membership. I left a voicemail for the main customer service person at this location telling them to cancel my membership and to let me know if they needed anything else to make this happen... and never heard back from her. Therefore, I expected my account to be canceled, right? Wrong. Turns out they were continuing to charge me the full rate for the past several months (shame on me for not checking my credit card statements better). I just called them, and their response was that you have to cancel either in person or through a certified letter - my request on the voicemail was not sufficient - but of course they never bothered to call me back to let me know, and instead collected lots of $$ from me for no reason instead of a quick call to let me know that I needed to stop in to do this. HORRIBLE!!!! Oh, and of course now that I did stop in the gym to cancel in person, it's not officially cancelled for another 30 days, so that's yet another's month rates that they should never have gotten. How do they sleep at night?? I will never, ever go back to this gym again. Also, your monthly membership rates aren't really locked in - they increased mine by 5+ dollars several months back. Beware! Don't join them if you will cancel your membership someday. You will never get it out. They will keep charging you after you cancel your membership. I have cancelled my membership back to Sep.20,2011. First I called them and asked to cancel my membership. They told me they gonna send me a cancellation form and I just need reply "yes". I did what they told me and called back again to make sure that's all the thing I have to do. They said "Yes." After they continued charging me for 3 months. I called they at least 20 times and every time waiting on the line for at least 20 mins to speak with someone. The answer they gave me was they did not received my reply so my membership still active. I keep sending them 10 email the proof of reply. They said " No, they did not get it." I went to the LIFESTYLE FITNESS WINTER PARK ask staff fax to them. They still said " No. they did not get it." Finally they told me, they can cancel my membership start from that date and since I need 60 days notice, so I have to pay another month. So if they keep telling me they did not get my cancellation confirm for 1 year, then they can keep charging me for whole year long. That's ridiculous . My husband refused them because they have already overcharge us 3 months. He called bank to dispute their charge. Today, 03.16/2012 I got phone call from LIFESTYLE billing department and told me I have to pay 3 months or they gonna send me a letter. WOW... what an unbelievable company by using these kind of fraud to get their member's money. read more

I was invited to a yoga class and it was the best yoga class I have ever taken. I have since become totally addicted. All of the instructors and amazing and wonderful, and I've tried many different gyms and studios around Columbus, and this one is the best!!! The rates are really good too because you get access to as many classes as you want!!! read more

I joined Lifetime about 2 years ago. This is not the place to go if you are a "senior" looking for a moderate workout, especially if you are limited in the machines you can actually use. Because recumbent bikes are limited in number, during the afternoon they are claimed and kept by a group that can often be found reading, crocheting, watching TV, etc. with little regard as to others wanting to use them for a ten minute warm up or 10 minute cool down. I have observed people on the bikes who have not moved the entire time of my whole workout which often has run up to an hour or more. I have complained about this and suggested they post a "kind" note requesting that people limit their time on these bikes. Nothing has happened. Although for these prices, why people don't just buy an exercise bike and stay home, I don't know. I have tried some of the suggested senior classes but times are so limited, they are so crowded, it is not worthwhile to try to race in only to be crowded out. There are no options for senior pricing unless you are of Medicare age and no options for limited gym usage although after rotator cuff surgery, I will be doing very little weight lifting, mostly toning. The staff are friendly for the most part, but ineffectual. The lockers stymie the best of us. The prices stretch an already stressed budget torn by medical expenses. Isn't there anyone catering to the 50-65 age that needs to tone and stay heart healthy without selling the ranch to do so? AND who does it with respect and decorum? I know, I am asking way too much.
