When I didn't get the confirmation, I texted him again. this time, he called me back and said everything was on schedule. The day of the move, no movers showed so I texted if they were having trouble finding the apartment. A half hour later, still no movers. I texted again, then called the office, and it sent me to voicemail which was full so I couldn't even leave a message. This company will tell you about the A rating they have with the BBB (it's a B as of last week), but they do not tell you that they contract out your move with companies with an F rating. The 'professional movers' they contracted for my move were random guys hired off of craigslist. The company that AAA contracted ended up costing me a couple thousand dollars to replace all of the furniture they damaged. So, when I called AAA to discuss all of the things that I paid for in my contract with them, BUT DID NOT GET, they pretty much shrugged their shoulders and told me that it wasn't their fault, that they were just the brokers. They told me that I didn't understand the terms on the contract, and there was nothing they could do. Your move may only cost you $3,000 but you'll end up paying a lot more than that when you have to replace or repair all of the things that are destroyed by the 'professional movers' they hire.

I got quotes from a couple different companies, but Wayfinder stuck out. For price, and for the "value added" services that can't be measured. The homeowner insurance for our parent's policy was pretty comprehensive - so we were going to opt away from getting insurance through Bekin. Dale from Wayfinder asked us to confirm if all perils were covered - including if a Bekin representative accidentally damaged the contents. He was spot on - that specific peril wasn't covered- so we decided to add the insurance coverage. We never needed it - these guys were so careful, and everything arrived in great shape. A team of 4 guys came to moving day in Jamestown and each one was as nice as the next. One guy stayed on the truck to organize each box and item as it came onto the truck, one guy took care in itemizing each item as it was loaded, and two guys carried the stuff into the truck. From the basement, from the first floor, and from the second floor. No nicked corners, no problems. They understood that they weren't just moving "stuff". They were moving a life. They helped us settle up some of the remaining furniture into place since the full contents weren't being moved. I wish I could remember each of their names. I think Ron remained on the truck, and James did the diligent inventory work, but I may be wrong. They were all so kind. It was an emotional day for us all, and they were compassionate and professional. Brian, our driver, was there in Jamestown, and right on time at the designated time in Virginia. He was professional, and helpful. He brought Jose for the unloading part in Virginia. What a sweet man he was. Both Brian and Jose went out of their way to indulge all my - "this goes in my van" - and - "please take this from my van and bring it inside" and efficiently get everything off the truck and into the apartment. I never felt rushed as I went through the checklist and and made sure each box/item was accounted for. Back to Jose - not only did he notice that the bed would likely slide because it would be on hardwood floors - he recommended that we get little feet for the legs of the bed - but he noticed that one of the workers felt uncomfortable. She was leaving her shift at the facility - and the moving truck was near her car. She had plenty of room. But he asked if he could help - he stopped what he was doing - and he got her keys - and backed her car out of her parking spot -and away from the moving truck. So incredibly thoughtful. I would decidedly use them again. They get it.

Lost both parts and hardware for a bed that was unable to be assembled upon arrival. When reported to the company was asked to fill out a claim form. So far have only offered $500 for the damage...which is unacceptable. The packing was hastily and carelessly done. When moving in, items were not placed where we asked and most items (mostly heavy) items were thrown into the garage. Very unprofessional and company is not making it right by replacing the damage they caused. I will update review if they replace what was damaged and lost.
