Will is a patient and calm instructor who is always on his game. And he takes his role of mind-body health very seriously. I use his services--even though I still belong to a gym! Will was a very personable owner. As soon as we walked in he spoke and shook your hand to make you genuinely feel welcome in his domain! The first thing Will had us try was using tennis balls against the wall so you can massage your back, glutes, and thighs. To start the class off we did dynamic stretches to make sure we get the blood flowing (which Will spoke about to explain the reasoning behind it), then we were introduced to the exercise stations. The stations consisted of tire flips, battle ropes, kickboxing, ab work with the balls and I actually realized we forgot about the planks...oopie daisy. To top the workout off Will had us do a very short jog over to the water (which is across the street) so we could do the post workout. He explained all the moves and gave reasoning as to why he would present this as a workout for his class. If you need a great workout and would love to learn more about health and wellness Will is your man!! His business is running a special for classes right now, so make sure to jump on that if you are interested in coming to his gym!! I will recommend this facility to people!! A spot for your car is not something most boutique studios boast, so yay FitCrush. Studio: Beautifully decorated, with motivating quotes and zen-boosting decor. You can tell the level of detail put into making it feel home-y and not sleek, which can sometimes make studios come across as cold and pretentious. Equipment: Top-notch fitness equipment like thick non-slip mats, knee pads, and colorful weights (to make lifting that much more fun). Down to the safe cleaning products. Class: Pop pilates was a lot of fun and complemented the previous day's weightlifting with long stretches and bodyweight movements. -- I'm not sure if this occurred because of the change into the new year, but I had previously signed up for certain classes/slots that were then moved, with no notification sent to me. Luckily, I was able to spot and drop in time.

The Barre Body by Lisa class was challenging with enough mix of cardio and core strengthening. It was more of a yoga flow feel than small receptive movements like other barre studios. The customer service here is exceptional. The class I took was the last class on a Saturday morning. I know everyone has places to go on Saturday. After leaving class and being 15 minutes out on the beltway, I realized I left my winter jacket at the studio. I called immediately and the owner answered and was kind enough to wait 40 minutes for me to come get my jacket! Thank you FitCrush for the positive experience.

What I noticed was that many of the studios in MD we're just not the same caliber as LA in terms of amenities and teachers... until I found Yoga Factory Annapolis / Annapolis Power Yoga! The facility is great (they have showers and amenities), free/easy parking, and it feels like a community / small business (not corporate like Core Power). The teachers were extremely knowledgeable and their hot yoga classes are actually hot with a real heating system. Love that they offer an array of classes from traditional Bikram, vinyasa (non-heated), to HITT (classes with weights for sculpting). I can't wait to go back. Thanks guys for having me!

The place was literally 5 minutes away from my house, so it was very convenient to get there. They have only a couple of parking spots available in front of the building, so I was not sure if I can park next door, but took my chances and everything was fine. When I stepped in to the studio, I was surprise how small it was. It was just one room in the front and one in the back. I was welcomed by the instructor and filled out a short form. The workshop lasted for 2 hours and was an overall introduction to yoga. It was very nice, I enjoyed the session. There was about 7 people, 5 women and 2 men. I liked the pace and that the instructor talked about the different poses. Overall it was a great experience for my first time yoga and I will definitely come back for some classes - if my schedule allows or I will try another studio close by. But this experience gave me a go ahead for yoga and that was my goal! Thank you!

However, once I discovered Allay Yoga in the Fall of 2010, I was hooked and have been exclusively at Allay since. The absolute best thing about Allay is Pam, one of the instructors. On the first day I went to the studio, she inquired about my yoga experience, my level of comfort with different styles and poses, what parts of my body were open and tight, and even the style of music I liked. Then, this is the best part, she incorporated my unique desires and needs into that class session and everyone thereafter. Pam even goes so far as to ask at the start of each session what kind of practice we want that day, and then leads a class that reflects our desires. This means that some days we focus on deep stretches, some days are more restorative, and others push us to find our edge. I also love the small class sizes and Pam's hands-on approach. I am a fairly advanced yogi, so I enjoy going beyond the basic sun salutation. Pam always provides opportunities for more advanced poses, even when others in the class are at a beginner level, but always is there to guide my body into alignment. This is the definition of individualized attention and the reason that I am dedicated to this studio.

I've been studying with this school for about 7 years now. The instructors are great, the camaraderie among the students is amazing, and I can attest to real health benefits of practice. I used to have a sore back every morning, but now, it doesn't matter where I sleep, I have full flexibility and no achy back in the morning! This school is also great with helping students developed confidence. I was very reluctant to compete when I first started, but the support I got from my instructors and fellow students encouraged me, and now I can say that I am an international and world champion. Something I never would have imagined, and yet here I am. We not only practice empty hand forms, but also with weapons -- straight sword, broad sword, long staff, etc. This is a great school and very traditional, emphasizing discipline, virtue, humility. It's a school for elites so if you think you have what it takes, come check it out!

She even texted me a few days later notifying me that a class was cancelled due to weather (how awesome?).
