I always go to this store. Hats are beautiful, elegant and sophisticated. Today, 7/12/25, I had one…read moreof the worst experiences. I got there and there was this white, tall, redish hair lady. I was in need to a hat, sun was really powerful today and the heat was unbearable. She said welcome and she looked at us from head to toes. I am Puerto Rican, not white, no tall, no straight, redish hair. She said that in order to try the hats I have to use a hairnet. I understood, took one and start trying the hats. I asked which one was the best to cover face and head from the sun. I noticed her uncomfortable. She explained briefly. My wife tried to sip a little bit of water that she had in a cup. She abruptly said to her, no drinking or eating is allowed. My wife understood, saw a garbage can and throwed the cup there. She got incredible mad, took the cup, open the door and throwed the water outside; almost over some woman feet. She walked to the back of the store and right behind me, she said "these people". These people mean us, the people different from others, people that are not white like her. I can understand the stubborn brains, the lack of intelligence and the lack of empathy to other. What I do not understand is the lack of desire to kill the ignorance. I was not there to steal, to offend nobody. I was ready to spend between 100 to 120 in a good hat. She was so ingnorant, so full of her own biases that she could not put aside her prejudices in order to make money for her store or her boss' store. This is the country that we are living now. Soon enough we will read signs saying " non white people are not allowed". It is a shame.

She is always helpful to all the customers. She has helped me twice now and i always remember how nice she is. She always know what to do if you are having trouble with your coupon or vouchers. Always ready to help. Now for the store i want to comment regarding the fabric selection. They have some but not a lot but it was hard to find the right fabric to the price i wish they would add more affordable options for it. I am beginner in sewing and i am looking for good fabrics at a good price i saw some price points i like but they have no stock or there was nothing there. Hopefully when i comeback they will have better selection. Also i wish they have price checker, this was such a great feature before or maybe only the Michaels in Rockville had it in the past. It's nice to find treasures from their clearance section but there is no price checker and i have to ask someone on the the floor for the prices. It can be tiring for the employees to be checking all the stuff you want to ask so I don't get any since the clearance prices aren't always accurate or sometimes it has no price.

With Christmas coming up I had to start my shopping. With two nieces wanting drawing items I…read morefigured this would be good enough place to start than anywhere else. Both of the nieces are big into drawing and had items on their list that ranged from Sharpies to calligraphy pens. I figured I would give this place a shot first to see what I might be able to grab at a decent price. One thing to note, the Sharpies and pens are basically in two different sections of the store. Took me a frustrating minute to figure that out and have to backtrack to the other section. What I thought was going to be the start of my shopping turned out to be a pricing trip. Everything I looked at appeared to be marked up compared to other stores and online. They did have the items, but I wasn't willing to pay almost double the asking price at other places.

I was looking at dresses when Smitty (Ahira Smith) walked over and asked if I needed help. I instantly bursted into tears because she was the first person to offer help in all of the stores I went into. She helped me get myself together and I explained I had purchased a black blazer and I was looking to put a dress under the blazer. I had already had one in mind and she told me to get my blazer so we could see if it was a good match which it was. She helped me get in and out of the dress and make my purchase. She told me the job was already mine, gave me an hug and that helped put my mind at ease. I also witnessed her giving another customer the same attentive customer service that she gave me. I will definitely be back to this location for future purchases just because Smitty left a lasting impression on me. Thank you again.
