We strolled in here and ended up leaving with two hats we didn't know we needed. Great choices and selection and very high quality. The staff are quick to assist help with what you're looking for or to offer things you might not immediately see. The day we went the ladies special event hats were on sale 40 percent off. All the styles were of impeccable quality and of various varieties. Check this place out you never know you might just find a hat you didn't know you needed. Be prepared to pay a higher dollar for a higher quality.

Best addition to my outfit while attending a wedding at the Annapolis Yacht Club this May

It warmed my heart when we in Annapolis, MD for a wedding this May and Hats in the Belfry was still thriving as it was on my last visit, 30+ years ago. The staff was so warm & welcoming. Providing thoughtful suggestions. This visit made our trip extra special. May they continue to be open for many more years

I love visiting this store! Beautiful hats - a bit over my price point at $200+, but fun to dream about and browse.

Extremely unwelcoming and annoyed that we came into this location with children. Would not recommend giving them your business.

Dirty Billy's has an enormous selection of quality hats with ample mirrors. The prices are moderately expensive, but I mind not paying for quality. The staff person was friendly and helpful. Keep in mind that Dirty Billy's is closed Mondays through Thursdays, and that street parking in historic Gettysburg is not free (with some exceptions) and many meter maids. There is no public restroom. I have been and am pleased with my hats from Dirty Billy's and am confident that you will be as well. Check it out!

Just off the main square in Gettysburg is Dirty Billy's, a small, dark, curio shop selling old…read morestyle hats. The walkways are dark, the shelves pile to the ceiling with wares and cabinets display custom made specialty hats, and the whole place has a somewhat magical feel to it. Yes, you have to like hates but if you do there's a vague sense of a wonderland with different surprises found in the corners and if you're only interested in hats, which are no longer as fashionable as they once were, this is a place to further explore your interest. They not only sell hats but also make them so if you see something you like but they don't have your size, they can probably make it for you. His main market seems to be historical re-enactors, but he also makes fashionable hate like fedoras and Derbys and is more than willing to talk to you about design, look materials and the price for this customer made hat is on a par with well known brands like Mcgill and Stetson (I like hats) So why only 4 stars? Two things. 1 is convenience. the store is only open on Fridays and weekends, great for tourist trade on the weekends but otherwise difficult. I'd been visiting Gettysburg for years before I happened to be there on a day they were open. the other is a little more twitchy but it was reliability. I did have a hat made and when I got it, it was perfect. :) BUT it was weeks later than I was told at the time. I wasn't informed there would be a delay, I just let a few weeks pass over the estimate i was given and then reached. Then they told me they were a little backed up. It would have helped me had they reached out to me, rather than me having to sit and wonder.

Visiting Sheep's is a uniquely special experience. There is no website, no social media profile for this place. If you're like me, then you probably stumbled upon it while walking the more residential streets of Fells. It's so refreshing to just find a place, not to be advertised to go there. Hell, the only advertisement for this place that exists is a road sign on the corner. The store has been around for at least forty years. Charles, who was an art professor at UMD, and his wife Darcy are the only employees. They import goods from the UK and Ireland, traveling there yearly to scope out what's good. What isn't from Europe is a selection of pottery, postage, tea towels, etc from the east coast. I love their goods. Everything is quality, everything is so well sought out. Their two-tone cardigans are so cute, and they're honestly priced fair for what they are. This store is so lovely, and the effort put into sourcing the wool goods and curating the storefront is so palpable. I also love chatting with the owners. Please, please pay these guys a visit, if not for their 100% (which is rare these days) wool sweaters then for the atmosphere and the knickknacks and literally everything else.

A hidden gem in Fells Point. The owners Charles and Darcy are lovely. They are very well versed in…read morethe details of everything they sell! Their imported and domestic goods are good quality. It is worth a visit!
