We were looking for something fun and different from a traditional afternoon tea, and this definitely leaned more interactive than expected. Arrival and First Impressions Reservations are important, and when we arrived the space was already filled with families. The setting feels polished but still very welcoming for kids, which is not always the case with afternoon tea in London. Service was excellent from the start, organized without feeling too formal, and the overall atmosphere had a fun, lively energy. The Highlights The experience is built around science themed trays filled with a mix of sweet and savory items. The kids immediately locked into the interactive elements, especially the build your own strawberry lemonade with different colored syrups, which turned into more of a mini experiment than just a drink. They also had cake pops, scones, and small PB and J sandwiches, all very approachable and fun. One of the better touches was a small take home item, a dinosaur themed tin, which the kids treated like a prize from the experience. It added to the overall feeling that this was designed with kids in mind. The adult trays had a similar variety with finger sandwiches, pastries, custards, and scones. Everything was solid and there was plenty to try. Being able to request more of anything you liked helped balance things out a bit and made it feel less restrictive for the price. The Challenges The biggest drawback is the cost. For a family of four it came out to around 350 USD, which is a significant spend for what is essentially afternoon tea. It leans more toward a themed experience than a traditional tea service, so if you are expecting something quiet and refined, this may not be the right fit. Final Thoughts This is one of those experiences that works really well if you go in with the right expectations. It is interactive, a little chaotic in a good way, and clearly designed for families more than traditional tea purists. We would not rush back and I removed a star due to the price, but we are glad we did it once because the kids genuinely loved it and still talk about it. If you are looking for something unique and are comfortable with the cost, it is worth it for the experience, though the value depends on how much you lean into the interactive side.

The savory sandwiches were our favorite. The scones were very good with fun toppings to try on your jam and cream. The sweets were just okay. The macarons were the best part of the sweets and they were half-dissolved because of a server mishap with the fun smoke effect. It was a fun one-time experience for our family.

And now for all the reasons I love this place and shall be returning. The rooms are spacious and beautiful with lots of natural light, I stayed on the street side and it is quiet enough to do that and I loved the view of the beautiful fascade across the way, but you could also get a room facing the garden and the garden is such a treasure. I've already writen a review of the Buttery located right in the hotel as one of my favorite spots so staying here means you always have a lovely garden and cafe for breakfast, drinks, and lunch. The bathroom was beautiful and again more spacious than most as far as the shower. The AC is brand new and with London getting hotter and hotter in the summers and that heading into the fall most places are really not prepared so I was so grateful that it worked so beautifully. I loved all the small touches in the rooms and the cleaning staff was superb, everything was like brand new each day. Even the small lobby was a place to take a quick beat before or after ones day and I enjoyed all the reading materials they supplied. All of this for one of the best prices around in Belgravia, one of the most beautiful parts of town. But what distinguishes this beatiful boutique the most is the excellent service at every turn. Every person who works there is so professional, welcoming, engaging, and just very lovely. That includes cleaning staff and folks they contract to fix things that might be amiss in your room. This is just so key for me when being away from home. Thank you Thomas, Sanjay, Abi, Tas, and Oxanna for making my stay so special, grateful.

My two girlfriends and I rented a triple room and it was roomy enough for us, all of our luggage and towers of shopping bags. We were only given one key, and you have to be buzzed in for safety reasons after 10 or 11 pm, but that was fine for us. The staff was so accommodating. The bathroom had a towel warmer which came in handy- it is freezing in London right now. We had the perfect view of The Buttery's garden from our huge window. There is an adorable market just steps away- for provisions after hours. In the states we are used to hotel rooms having in room refrigerators- but the market made it easy to get cold drinks every night. 10/10
