Machado's does not deserve a star. Based on the reviews I decided to take the jeans I had just…read morepurchased to get the leg/hem tapered only. That was all I wanted done. The experience at Machado's was less than satisfactory- actually that's an understatement IT WAS HORRIBLE. From my dealings with other tailors in the past, they have a more skilled and polished approach when making alterations. I'm more used to wearing the article of clothing that needs tailoring and they pin/mark where you'd like it taken in. Machado (the older gentleman I'm assuming that's his name) only partially marked/ pin where I wanted the jeans tapered. Once that was done I handed him the jeans, he asked how much in cm do I want the jeans taken in. At that moment I knew something was wrong because why didn't he just ask me while I had the jeans on ??? So I still decided to let him do it. The next following week I came to pick up the jeans. Once I tried it on I noticed that it was extremely tight around my calf area. I made the tailor aware that this needs to be corrected. He was very rude, he demanded that I pay for it. I'm not paying for anything until it's done to my liking. I did not bother to entertain his unprofessional tone especially since there was a language barrier on his end. Nonetheless he said he'd fix it. When I returned back a few days later and he completely botched my jeans this is a disgrace (look at the attached photos ). I only asked to get the bottom leg hem tapered, he went as far as tapering the entire pants leg giving a odd shape to the jeans in the thigh area. Avoid this place at all cost. Rude ,unskilled, and very unprofessional . I took the jeans to my original tailor back in NYC who pointed out all the noticeable errors and managed to correct some of the mistakes. I'm very big on customer service the fact that he was rude alone - you'll never see my money. I do not recommend at all.
