I have never been to a DMV where i felt heard or helped at the end of the day. at least not in a way where I had to bear the brunt of passive aggressive, control-minded, unprofessional simpletons who don't really know how to do their jobs. This visit was an incredible contrast to what I've known the DMV has been. You ought to promote Tina and have her run the customer care process for all the DMV locations in Kentucky because whoever is doing it now ought to be fired and ashamed of their work. This location is exceptionally friendly and helpful. I was getting my federal compliant ID and had heard stories of people having to make multiple trips. I checked online ahead of time and was pretty sure I had what I needed. I was greeted at the door by a friendly gentleman who confirmed I had checked in online properly and my space in line was reserved. I filled out a form and waited just a couple minutes for my number to be called. The person at the counter was friendly and helped me with my ID and two license plate renewals, with some nice conversation while she completed the registrations. All in, less than 15 minutes later, everything was done in a quick, professional way and I was on my way! Hard to believe you can enjoy an experience at the BMV but it's true! Next time you need the BMV, I recommend this location.

I had to go on a dreaded Saturday to renew and get an updated driver's license because I was flying…read moreout of town that afternoon. I wanted to make sure I had the proper documents, (and if TSA would really accept an expired license because there was no way to find out from the airport.) But when I called the BMV the day before, whoever answered wasn't sure. When I tried to call back before going many times, no one ever answered the phone. Of course Saturday is crazy busy, with parking even hard to find. I'd recommend going on a weekday. The system for waiting was very efficient, with a machine to enter your cell so you'd be texted, as well as your line number displayed up on a monitor when ready. I only waited 15 minutes, which wasn't bad considering the crowd. The driver's license renewal went smoothly. I guess there's some kind of system back up, because my license had to be mailed out 4-6 weeks later. They gave me a print out of it I could use wherever needed. There was major confusion though over our handicapped hang tag. They'd given us one with a wrong number on it previously and told us to come back in for a new one (in a handwritten letter.) The clerks asked for the letter, which we didn't have. They decided after talking it out amongst themselves in front of us that our current tag is fine. I really hope so! I was also able to register to vote and change my address at this bureau. Tips: they take cash, credit or check. This bureau also does title transfers and title service, has a notary service and many other services.

My son got his license from here, got a temp tag replaced, and I also registered/plated a vehicle. Each time it went very smooth. This location is easily visible and has parking out front. We are always greeted at the entrance. To get a ticket is easy. Inside appeared clean and had plenty seating. Virginia helped with getting my son's license and temp tag. She was very friendly. Daniel was the person that helped get my vehicle plated/ registered. us, and he provided excellent customer service, he was a pleasure to work with. I wanted to the black out plates and he quoted my registration for 2 years telling me that would save money as I'd only be charged $45 one time for the black out plates (usually if you have special plates you have to pay every year with registration). I was appreciative that he shared this information with me as I'm always looking for ways to save money and went with this option. The whole process took about 20 minutes. I was very pleased with this visit and the outcome.

This time, I went before 4 o'clock on a Thursday before a holiday weekend, and I was the only person who had to wait in line. They had 3 to 4 tellers working, and it was really helpful. I only had to wait for five minutes or less. Back in the day, you could only pay with check, but you are now able to use your credit card if you are OK with $1.99 service fee. I overheard one of the tellers talking to a lady, and she did politely remind her if she uses her credit card, she would be charged that extra service fee.
