I was charged $315 as a college student for my 2022 tax returns…read more The tax preparer, Mr. Rosenberg in Jefferson Valley, did not submit the payment due electronically as documented in the tax return until approximately 16 months later and I received notices from NYS incurring almost $200 in interest and penalties. RG Brenner's management is giving me the run-around in reimbursing these fees. Their first offer they made was a $150 credit toward my next tax return preparation...really? I made it clear I would not be using their services again. Their next offer was a check for $100 and a $100 credit toward my next tax return. I didn't accept this offer because I made it clear I would not be returning and am still waiting for their response. Management will not respond directly...they communicate via their customer service reps. This has been a very frustrating and time-consuming experience and still is unresolved. I will continue to pursue full reimbursement of the fees incurred as a result of Mr. Rosenberg's negligence. In the meantime I will to warn others of the way this company treats its customers. RUN!!!

I love being able to support a local, family owned business - and it's great that the business is still going strong for so many decades, this is the only place I trust to handle my personal tax returns and small business. Their employee base has been with the company for decades as well, says something about the amazing culture they have in their office! (Shout out to Carol!) Each year I always receive timely communications to prepare for my filing, its detailed in what they will need from me so I can have everything ready to go to make the appointment efficient for all. I do prefer to work directly with Heidi (the owner/her father passed down the business!) but I do trust the other staff to help prepare my filings. Heidi has been nothing but professional, friendly, and efficiently answers any questions we have along the way. This office has always been able to file for me compliantly for over 20 years. Appointments during busy filing season are hard to come by so make sure to schedule early and have your paperwork in order. The office puts in the work 7 days a week during busy season and I am so incredibly grateful for the evening and weekend hours they offer. Depending on the complexity of your filing, they offer phone and in person appointments - even into late evening. This year was my second time going to Agro Accounting for tax prep and I continue to receive top-notch service. As a busy professional with limited time during the day, I was able to file my taxes with ease via Agro Accounting's secure website portal. What I appreciated the most was the fact that I could be as involved as I wanted to be in the process. Personally, I want to just turn my documents over and move on. I don't have much time on my hands and I knew I was going to have the best possible outcome as Basil is exceptionally knowledgeable and his attention to detail is impeccable. I have never worked with anyone as thorough as Basil. I simply created an account, uploaded my documents, and Basil took care of the rest. However, when I did have a question, Basil was there to provide me with the feedback I needed. My return was processed timely and I was able to download a copy of this year's return right to my computer from my online account. I told Basil he has a forever client and it's the truth!

We look forward to receiving ALL of your information - per our Document Checklist inside your work order - giving you a price quote (upon receipt) and getting things started! -Team @ Agro CPA" Upon uploading all my information and organizing it following the guidelines on the website, i received an email from Basil saying that for me to get the price quote, i had to pay a $65 consultation: " Thanks for getting back to us. I would respectfully request you book me for a $65, 30-minute consultation to help you streamline and understand your business income and tax deductions, and file presentation. To do that, please go to my calendar page, where you will be able to select a 30-Min Pro Consultation and make payment with your desired time of booking." I replied inquiring as to whether the documents I had shared following their guidelines were not enough since i had organized them clearly, and i didn't want to spend $65 on a quota. The response was the following: " I understand you want a price quote -- and we want to be as preparation-ready as possible, in the event that you hire us. I otherwise could spend all day giving price quotes this time of year: it's not efficient for our business model to not have all the info required. If booking a consultation does not work for you, kindly consider taking your business to another tax professional." Never in my life had I been asked to pay for a price quote. Very rude and uncollaborative. Not impressed. EDIT: Hahahaha, I can't believe the response from the business owner. First of all, it is not your prospective client's responsibility that you cannot manage your time properly and find yourself working at 2 a.m. NY time. Secondly, the screenshots attached to the review clearly show that I was asking whether you were requesting a consultation because you had reviewed the files and found them unclear -- or if you were doing so just because -- even though I organized the files according to your guidelines and created a Google Drive (again, exactly as your guidelines suggest) despite the obvious security issues. I also added brief notes on the portal to address any potential confusion, given that I am currently out of the country for work. Yes, I did find it unnecessary to pay $65 for a consultation when all the information needed for an initial price quote had already been shared. I am extremely confused as to why it was so outrageous to contact the Portland office from abroad to work on my individual 2024 tax return when I am an Oregon business owner and resident. Lastly, I'm attaching the "automated message" I received offering $200 to remove this review. Please make it make sense. Am I seriously supposed to delete this review for $200 after reading the appalling response from the owner? LOL -- absolutely not. This experience gets worse and worse. The owner is unhinged, and probably dangerous as he not only berates them, he also exposes his clients names online (see older responses to other reviews). Gotta be brave to post a review on this company, as the responses an insults dont stop coming.
