He spent so much time trying to break down everything for me and was fine with explaining things more than once. Before our initial meeting he was more than accessible by email, he always repleid very quickly and with thorough answers. I always thought going to an accountant or anyplace besides the chain places like Liberty Tax and H and R block would run me an arm and a leg but it was actually significantly more affordable! I called a lot of other tax places in the city and most of them didn't seem interested in answering even basic questions about my taxes unless I made an appointment to come in. Reached out to Paul for my taxes, which this year was complicated by receiving a multi-state K-1 (many of which are in middle America...far away from the Tri-State area). He was very honest and informed me that he is not all that familiar with tax filing processes in some of those states and did not feel comfortable just taking on such an assignment. We agreed that it wouldn't be worth his time to get up to speed on those states and appreciated how he didn't just take on business and "wing it" as I would think many other accountants would do. Understanding my tax situation, he did offer some bits of advice and will providing me with contacts of accountants that are more familiar on this matter. I met with Paul for a consultation. Even though I contacted him outside of tax-season, he emailed me back immediately and set up an appointment on the day I asked for. He is very friendly and answered all of my questions. I had a lot of anxiety related to not knowing how much I would owe in taxes (due to a change in marital status), but I left his office feeling calmer. He even did a mock tax return for me to make sure he estimated my new withholdings correctly. Even though I had made an hour-long appointment, he only charged me half the hourly rate because my questions ended taking up just 30 min. EDITED FROM A 1 STAR REVIEW. (Original below.) We went from having an AWFUL experience to being completely satisfied, and it was all thanks to Paul. He has gone out of his way to right all the wrongs caused by the disgusting service provided by Michael Mouzouris. I can't recommend PAUL enough. ************************************************************** Be warned, We visited ADK to incorporate our business. We had nothing but problems. Upon our initial consultation, things appeared to be above board. The gentleman we dealt with was friendly and said he would get the process started ASAP. This is when the problems started. Originally we were told he would get in touch when he received the documents. Weeks passed; which may have been fine if we hadn't been told we would hear something in A week. We began to call to make inquires. This went one of two ways: we were rushed off the phone, or, our calls were not returned. The gentleman often had no clue what we were calling in reference to. I understand you and your business have a lot going on. but please, at least pretend to care about the people handing you their money to perform a service. This went on for weeks. We were accused of harassment during this time. We just wanted to documentation we paid for in the time it was promised. When we eventually received the proof of incorporation, we found that information was entered incorrectly and names were spelled wrong. In the end we believe we were lied to. We were told paperwork would be filed by a certain day, and we later told it hadn't been yet. We were met with resistance and treated poorly. We are patient people. This all happened between September and October 2011. I am leaving this review now ,because in order to complete our taxes, we had to pay someone else to fix what was done incorrectly, and DO what was NEVER done in the first place. read more
