After examining the quality of work Crest Roofing provided replacing my neighbors roof, I contacted them for a quote. I am thankful I did. They provided a quote timely and used an upgraded shingle compared to those used by other contractors. They also coordinated reimbursement from the insurance company, which I appreciated. A crew of 7 people completed the work in one day. They placed plastic sheeting on the ground around the house and did a very nice job cleaning up at the end of the day. I went up on the roof regularly during the replacement. I wanted to be sure any damaged sheeting was replaced (it was) and the new roof met my standards of installation. I highly recommend Crest Roofing.

Ahmad came to our home to provide a free quote and spent nearly two hours thoroughly inspecting both the roof and the attic. That level of detail immediately set them apart. He took the time to explain everything clearly, which gave us a lot of confidence in their process. We received six different bids, and Master Roofing's was by far the most comprehensive. It was clear that other companies were leaving out items that likely would have shown up later as added costs. With Master Roofing, everything was transparent upfront. Before the project even started, McKay and Kris came out to walk us through the entire process. They were professional, thorough, and made sure we knew exactly what to expect. Throughout the project, Cole (the project manager) was exceptional. His communication was consistent, proactive, and incredibly helpful. We always felt informed and taken care of. The crew was fantastic...friendly, professional, and efficient. They worked quickly without sacrificing quality, kept the job site clean each day, and were very respectful of our property. They even finished the project about half a day earlier than expected. After completion, McKay stopped by to personally check everything over and make sure we were satisfied, which really speaks to their level of care and accountability. I highly recommend Master Roofing. Do your homework and get multiple estimates...you'll quickly see why this company stands out.

Aside from the gorgeous new roof, there were no indications that work had even been done! My yard was even cleaner than before and they even used a magnet to ensure no nails were hiding in the grass. Absolutely would recommend to friends and family! 10/10

After the roof replacement, I was left with serious concerns about the quality of the installation. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company. My experience was so disappointing that I would never hire this company again or recommend them to anyone. This review reflects my personal experience and opinions.

So I agreed to a price and was VERY CLEAR the roofing had to match the exact brand and style and color, it had to be the exact one. THIS WAS IN WRITING, but remember that a contract is only as good as the people signing it. THESE GUYS DO NOT HONOR THEIR WORD AT ALL. They said the price included clean up. I foolishly trusted them when they told me they were done cleaning up the horrendous DISASTER in my attic where the insulation was saturated with millions of broken shingle pieces. They went up there and did some, but only one small portion of the mega mess which has ruined the insulation and caused a fire hazard. After they took my final payment and left, I went up in the attic myself (female and retired) to the first area of entry where they apparently cleaned and I spent two hours myself picking up the slivers and larger shake shingles that were literally EVERYWHERE, even under the insulation. Like spikes, the wood impaled a lot of the insulation and I had to replace most of it. Of course, I was dumb enough to give them their final payment before checking. In fact, I paid them $500 more than their bill which arrived the day after I paid them, by email. I then told them by text they needed to return to do the work properly (the clean up). They ignored me. I told them I was going to report them to Murray City, but they ignored me. Then and only then, did I think to check the ENTIRE ROOF, as there was a back sloped part that could not be seen unless you get on a ladder. OMG, they put some mismatch type of black rubber roofing when I was explicitly clear the entire roof had to match the Brownstone I already had on the roof in the area my son had done. Now I have to find another roofing company to come in and roof that section properly!!!!!! YET MORE MONEY!!!!!!!!!! I cannot get into all the spaces of my roof so I now have to hire someone to come clean the attic so that it's not a major fire hazard. I am going to my city tomorrow to report them. I am also going to leave this review on every roofing review board I can find online, including the Better Business Bureau and the Licensing Agency. These guys act nice and all, but the only thing they care about is getting your money into their pockets. In fact, I asked them for a bid to do seamless gutters. It was $1700 vs $1300 from the pros you can find anywhere online. I got several bids. They never offered to do my soffits, and I only accidently found out that is something people are doing now to avoid painting the outside wood trim, and never painting again at my age, seemed the way to go. I asked them for a bid for that. They said $6500 just for the soffit work, so add $1700 = $8300. I had a feeling that was high so I called the first two local companies I saw online, and both bids were around $4400 FOR EVERYTHING - seamless gutters AND soffits and no painting necessary because all wood would be covered up (This included an extra charge because these roofers had put two by fours on the trim all around the house, which is not done for seamless gutters or soffit work - it makes it more difficult, causing an additional reveal. So when I told them their bid was more than double, they were not happy. I even showed them one of the bids in person. I foolishly gave them $100 cash for the two by fours they used even though I was going to pay more for the gutter work now that they put on those 2X4s. They had lost the seamless gutter job and the soffit job because they were trying to rip off a senior citizen and got caught with their pants down. That I took their word that they had cleaned the attic, or even done the roof as agreed (and this was absolutely clear, in writing, no misunderstanding!) reminds me that NO ONE CAN BE TRUSTED THESE DAYS. I guess they bank on older people not climbing ladders to verify the roofing materials nor getting up into an attic! So they don't mind cheating on the materials where they can, and cheating on the clean up they promised where they can, as long as they GET YOUR MONEY. I should have never given them this job. It was dumb. I didn't see any reviews and he played like he was a nice Hispanic guy, all huggy and friendly. BEWARE! BELIEVE REVIEWS! If they are any good they should have at least a 4 star. What was I thinking? So frustrating!

I knew a few neighbors that had a very good result from Smartway so we went that route. We decided to tackle some other exterior updates like stucco and gutters. Jose from Smartway coordinated very well with the other contractor to make sure everything was timed perfectly. The stucco guys removed the existing stucco on the dormers which allowed us to get flashing and ice and water shielding that would prevent future damage. Jose worked with me on some upgrades for our vents which meant repairing holes from the turtle vents and upgrading to ridge vents. I wanted maximum water protection where we had prior damage from ice damming. We upgraded to "W Valleys" that improved water removal and looks great. Jose and team took extra time on flashing and kick out flashing to get the water to the gutters as fast as possible. We experienced some rain storms midway through the project and Jose came to the house to make sure everything was sealed up and that the water was running as needed. I have zero complaints about the quality of work and fairness in pricing. Smartway isn't the biggest company but I would rather a smaller crew of excellent workers vs an army of mediocre workers that slam through a job.
