It's early evening and I have been invited to go meet some colleagues for a session. I have been this road before and know wot will occur...all of us slaughtered and singing Rugby songs. Not wishing to be dragged from my vehicle at some ungodly hour and being asked to stand on one foot by one of Houston's finest, I decided to call a 'Joe'. (Joe Baxi - aka Taxi) I have learnt to be ultra cautious of taxis everywhere. Even with their ridonculous driving technique, they always arrive late. When I see one on the road I leave an 'aircraft carrier' sized space as they always drive like they are auditioning for a role in a version of 'Top Gun meets Transporter". They attempt maneuvers that would be unachievable in a bi-plane. But, I have made my decision as a responsible adult, and go to the phone. First call. CabCo: Liberty Cab Company. This is {insert name here} speaking Me: Hello, yes I wanted to order a tax..... CabCo: Can you please hold ....beep-beep, beep-beep, beep-beep...Click...beeeeeeeeeeep disconnected! Second call. As far as cab companies go, I don't know of any other that will preform the following services you are about to read: After a half hour cab ride from Houston's Bush International at 1am, fatigue and disorientation had set in deep - causing us to leave Devin's jacket in the back seat. Let me clarify...Devin's BRAND new, just bought that day, still had the tag on it, fairly expensive jacket! Bummer. The first call into Liberty cab flattened our hopes of ever seeing the jacket again. "Sorry, but without a cab number, there is nothing we can do" I mean, really? Who writes down cab numbers anyway? (I do! NOW) One last idea left, we called the liberty cab dispatcher to see if they had a record of a cab headed to Bellaire at 1am the night before...SCORE! After several hours of rummaging through hundreds of ticket stubs, the dispatcher found our cab # and left a message on the drivers cell. Our hopes were lifted. Upon receiving the message, the cabbie felt so bad that he drove the half hour BACK to Bellaire to drop off the jacket, only to be pulled over and arrested for an outstanding warrant! WHAT? The car was impounded with the jacket INSIDE while the cabbie spent the night in jail. Sorry Dude. Once the car was released 2 days later, Liberty cab found the jacket and mailed it back to us in New York City. They even typed up a letter of apology for the delay in getting it back to us...WHOA! that is some service. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mr. Cabbie was released a day later. His warrant was for an unpaid parking ticket that he had since paid...oops Devin was reunited with his beloved jacket Liberty Cab exceeded our expectations of what a cab company will do for it's customers! This is the worst cab service I have ever taken. I posted a picture of the nastiness that was going on in the front seat. What is missing are the 3 minute made orange juice bottles on the floor. The cab driver had to use my phone GPS to find out where we had to go. This was only after I told him he was going the completely wrong way in a city that i had never been to. He then proceeded to run every red light we crossed in downtown Houston. After arriving at the hotel the driver wanted us to pay full price for a ride that took twice as long as it should have. My buddy ended up settling at $30, which ended up being the smartest thing i had heard come out of the drivers mouth. I had never written a review for a cab company before this experience . I got cut off by one of their drivers today, car 1597 in Houston TX on Richmond Ave. They didn't even use a blinker and it is raining!

The cab service in Houston is a Joke. Liberty cab is no exception. My granddaughter waited to be picked up from her job for an hour. Then upon finally arriving, the driver ask what direction she was going, when she told him, this driver informed her that he was not going in that direction. Can anyone tell me, what was the purpose of him showing up if he wasn't going to take her where she needed to go. i waited over an hour for a cab. the dispatcher lied and told me it would take 20 min. when i called 20min later, she said a cabbie just picked up the route 4 minutes ago, so it would take 15 more minutes...40 minutes later, my cabbie arrives in a nasty old van. he complains that his car is running on empty, and needs me to pay in cash. he also has no change. thankfully a bank of america was close by and open so i was able to get small bills before he took me to my destination. Booked a taxi yesterday morning for a 6am pickup this morning thru Taxi Magic app. No show. When we called, the dispatcher told me that just because I reserved a taxi didn't guarantee one would come to pick us up because all if their drivers are independent contractors! We had to jump in our car to get to the airport 45 mins later than anticipated. They stink! read more

I was at Amtrak train station and Liberty cab driver ( cab no. 1835 ) was rude and semi-thuggish he was telling Amtrak customers not to park close to the front of the station he was trying to catch people on the way out and did not want anyone in his way including Amtrak customers. Liberty cab needs to watch the people they hire, I was within minutes in calling the police department and reporting his thug-style of trying to run a territory that does not belong to him. But he saw me get his cab number and then get on my phone. He quickly left the property after that. If you have a choice? do not use Liberty cab they obviously do not screen their drivers properly read more

Called Liberty to order a cab. Dispatcher asked if I needed it right then, I said no, in about 30 minutes. Waited at the appointed time and no one showed up. When cab was 15 minutes late, called back to see if the driver needed directions and learned the dispatcher hadn't located a cab yet. Fifteen minutes later I tried again and she still hadn't located a cab yet. Cancelled cab order in favor of renting a car from Enterprise. At least they will pick me up! read more
