Honestly the worst experience of my life. We had LGO come out to do a few jobs in Jan/Feb 2026. All done incorrectly and even broke our dishwasher and had to come back next day. We have been dealing with the aftermath ever since of fixing the extra holes and today was the icing on the cake when my kitchen flooded. He installed the air gap with duct tape...apparently that only lasts 8 months, kudos to the duct tape. Honestly the worst contractor I have ever worked with. Picture for reference. I told him what I wanted him to do. He agreed and got the job done in under 30 minutes. Eric is a craftsman. I will certainly ask for him again. My mom and I found Rob on Thumbtack while we were remodeling our home. We hired him to hang 7 doors and 7 door frames. Rob said that his team was experienced and could take care of this. That was the first lie. Thumbtack showed a 4.5 star rating for this company (I do not know how credible these reviews are. Given the services provided, it is hard for me to believe that number at all). My mom did not want to leave a negative review, as she is a very understanding and patient person. I wanted to leave this review so I can warn any other potential victims of this company. My door does not close, my bathroom door frame is crooked, my parents door was put on backwards..... with the lock on the outside of the door. Literally every door has issues. There are nails sticking out, scratches everywhere, breaks in the wood, and the problems go on. Time after time, Rob said that one of his guys would be coming over. And more than half the time.... No one showed up. My mom had to constantly follow up with Rob to find out where his guys were. Communication was horrible, quality of work was worse, and the excuses made by Rob and his team were the icing on the sh*t cake. Rob's team came into our home after being hired to replace 7 doors and 7 door frames. Every single door has multiple issues, some of these issues prevent the door from even closing...... We told Rob that all of the doors were messed up, and we explained to Rob that his team ruined all of the wood, paint, and other materials that we had purchased for this job...... And when he came into our home to inspect his teams terrible job, his response was "Well it's not as bad as I thought." Rob said that he would "make it right", but yet again this was another empty promise. He had 4 different guys come through our house, and the last one that came through said "oh my god, i cant believe these doors were installed like this" At least he has some people at the company who know what they are doing.... After all of this mess, Rob texted my mom that he would "come back and make it right." Following the text, he gave us another string of excuses about why he needed to reschedule again...... for the 15th time. It really seems like these guys do not own calendar. After months of lies, dozens of excuses, workers not showing up, and terrible quality of work..... we were completely done with this company. My mom didnt reply to Rob's claims of "making it right." After all we have been through, I would not trust this company to screw in a lightbulb. Wish my mom would have looked at their Yelp rating beforehand and done a little more digging. She only looked at their thumbtack reviews. A 3.5 star Yelp rating is extremely generous in my opinion. After some research, i have found that Thumbtack has a 2.28 star rating from 1.305 consumer reviews. Do not trust Thumbtack reviews. I do not believe they have a legitimate review system. After multiple reschedules from them, the technician come out and all of a sudden costs start adding up. Hoped to give a stellar review , but work fell short. Several projects and most were done well. Some of the projects were outside lighting (front door & outside front gate) and an outside the front gate doorbell. The patio light is great, the outside the patio is very poor. What upsets me is that the outside the front gate light into dim there's more light coming off my balding head from the moon. The outside ringer button was never adequately attached and continuously was found in the plants,. I was charged twice for one of the projects. LGO Handyman Even as I start to write this, I am dumbfounded. On February 27, 2021 I post a request on the Thumbtack App that simple and to the point. See picture "A". Basically I was looking for a handyman to come replace an upstairs toile and discard the old. I also mentioned that my thermostat/Central Air was working. I already purchased a new thermostat and it still wasn't working. Two jobs and I got several bids. Bids ranged from $150 to $400. Then I got a bid from LGO Handyman for $59 per hour. I checked the Thumbtack references and they had a number 5 stars rating. I was told they could come that day. I had already purchased the new toilet and had it by my garage waiting. I am a fireman with a knee/back injury so my ability to get around is very limited, but I felt comfortable that my request would be taken care of. A handyman shows up and he is quick, friendly and start to finish was under ninety minutes. The toilet was replaced and for the thermostat he reconnected and lose wire. He didn't install anything. Didn't climb or crawl, but I was happy with results. I'm thinking 90 minute at $59 an hour maybe $90 bucks, but I was charged $200. I mentioned the $59 an hour quote and was told some jobs have a standard rate. I was clear from the beginning what I needed, so why quote the standard rate? Now I have another job I need a handyman for and decided I wouldn't make a fuss because having a quality go to handyman is worth a few extra dollars, but the quality appeared well, he was quick and didn't drag the job out so I gave the Benefit of the doubt and paid $197 all the cash I had plays a electronic transfer for payment. The toilet came in cardboard packaging and was in front of my garage. I offered that if the worker wanted he could break down the boxed cardboard and the recycling bin was on the side of my home. I asked for an estimate for the other job and felt we parted ways positive with the expectation of doing business again in the future. I did question the pricing to the point on communications owner/dispatch and repeated the stand rate line but offered a discount on the next job. He no problem soliciting a five star review and again I extended trust and gave a five star review. Never again. Fast forward to March 12 and I'm ready officially get bids for the second, but my asked why we he toilet was on the side of our house? What? I look and sure as she said the old toilet in the cardboard box was on the side, next to my neighbors driveway. I immediately contacted LGO and after a series of back and forth, broken promises and straight up lies the toilet in the box still sits on the side of my house. I revoke the five star rating as this service in my experience is and has been bait and switch, dishonest and I trust worthy. Called on a Holiday Friday, Veteran's Day, with hope that maybe somebody could come out over the weekend. They not only came out the next day, Luis did a ton of work: 4 ceiling fan installs--with one reinstall because I had left, and my husband made an executive decision without me, 2 lighting scone installs, a bathroom towel shelf, and, my new favorite piece of art, a geometric cat tree wall fixture. Luis was so great about it! It was late by the time he got to this, and he still went to get more stable screw inserts because he had doubts about the ones included. He could have just installed it and if it fell, it would have been one me, but no, he took the time and his experience to make sure the job was done well. Then, even as late as it was... on a Saturday, Luis vacuumed up the wall dust before he left. I have worked with contractors and handymen and to be honest, I usually dread the experience because you never knew what kind of service or craftsmanship you will get. Robert Owens and his team are crooks!! Found them on Thumbtack. They were a no-show last week. Eventually they showed up on Monday late. Had a written estimate of the cost and the exact work they will be doing. I actually paid them to get them off the premises. Never did what they said they would do and then got very argumentative after showing them in writing that they had not said they would do what they were supposed to do. They also bought some product to do the job - for which they charge you. Guy left we 8 wood screws and took the whole box for himself plus plastic rolls, trash bags and 2 x 4s. What you buy is yours - not theirs. Guys there are more honest guys than these guys. Also, Thumbtack is a hoax. You cannot leave a review unless the company requests it. Called him on Wednesday came to check out what we needed don Thursday morning (all windows and sliding glass door needed resealing, water had come in through top of frames, which were poorly sealed when installed prior to home being purchased) one of his workers was out Friday all day in this BS heat scrapped off old sealant and resealing all frames. LGO Handyman was hired through Thumbtack.com to repair our outdoor fountain. The job included filling some channels with fiberglass, sanding & prepping it to be painted, and painting the fountain. I sent photos of the fountain, and he stated that he understood the scope of the job. Rob Owens or LGO Handyman quoted me $200. Then as the work progressed I learned that I would also have to pay for the workman to go to HomeDepot for supplies, and I would pay the fee he is charged by Thumbtack to get leads. He raised his price to $300. There was no mention of the 24 hr cure time for fiberglass and the additional fees to return and come back to complete the job. Clearly he bids low, and then raises his price, for any reason he can find. His quoted price of $59 per hour is nothing more than a "come on." If you're looking for an honest handyman who will be transparent in his estimate, it's not Rob Owens. read more

Had outside work done. the results were satisfactory after having to return to fix multiple issues. This lead to having work done in the bathroom. The floor and linoleum was replacement done satisfactory but the painting and patching was awful. Door was painted and when check, it would not fully close so I had to remove and fix it myself. When I started to look at the paint and patch I noticed issues with the quality on both. I had more work but will not be using them for any of it. I asked 4 times for a detailed invoice for all the work performed and never received one. I have more jobs but I will be using a more professional company. read more

I was quoted $150 for the installation plus the price of the fan. When the repair person arrived he said the fan he provided would not fit the space and he left to pickup a different size fan. He returned and said the they didn't make that size fan any longer which was not true. He proceeded to make the hole larger and installed a new fan. He then informed me that the charge was $35.00 more, as he had to make the hole larger after the fact. In addition, after he finished he informed me he wanted 25% above the price of the fan to guarantee his workmanship and the factory guarantee, which I refused to pay. To make matters worse, he left the bathroom with a layer of dust and fingerprints on the ceiling. Poor integrity and a failure to cleanup the mess makes this a firm not to do business with. read more

If a handyman whom I hired per hour is taking is sweet time going to his truck and back about 4 times to get one tool at a time while he's in the middle of replacing my shower faucet that's not a good sign. I have to give him credit that he's friendly person though. The call is also includes to fix my doorbell. In regards with fixing my Ring doorbell to make it fully functional with it's camera and chimer he did replaced the old transmitter unit to match with ring model after spending time trying to locate the old transmitter in many corner ceilings or closets of house only to find out by the advise from Lowes. After 3 hours job he said he's all set so I asked him how much I owe him he said $280.00 then I said what happened to $59. you guys advertised? He said that's just initial then it's added to the actual charges of $75.00/hour. That's my bad for not reading their whole advertisement. Anyway, when I try to pay thru credit card he said he only accept cash, Zelle or Venmo. I just found out the chimer inside the house still not working. Obviously the handyman knew that it's not chiming inside but I took his word when he told me he's done. When I called their office and told one of my main issues about not chiming inside . I asked Rob if he talked to his handyman. He said yes right away he told me I need to buy chime relay and he will send his guy back in my place. Better hope nothing goes wrong, because if it does and if it is Rob Owens' fault, he will deny all liability, blame you, and if that doesn't work, he will threaten you, like he did me, saying several times "don't forget I know where you live." If you continue to pursue a refund or damages, he will ignore all of your communications. My dispute with him resulted from his worker hooking up a new dedicated wire to an existing electrical plug and failing to convert it from 240V to 120V, even though his worker was told it was for a refrigerator, it was a 240V line that had been used for an AC unit that was disposed of, and the gauge of the wire was for 240V lines. As a result, my refrigerator ran on this 240V line for a month and required $1,700 of electrical repairs. My licensed electrician corrected the voltage for a small charge and said the conversion to 120V is an easy fix that is readily known by anyone doing electrical work. Rob Owens does electrical work; but not competently in my case. He also told me he has insurance and a General Contractor's license, but refuses to prove it. He is apparently not a General Contractor and violating Calif. handyman laws by doing jobs for more than $500. read more

I was nervous looking for a handyman service which is something I have never done before. After all was said and done, I was extremely satisfied with my service. They mounted a TV stand, my TV, and several mounts behind the TV as well as wired items thru the wall and still had time to fix a couple of tasks around the house including mounting another cabinet. Though I did not get everything I needed completed that day, they did an amazing job on all tasks they worked on in a short amount of time and there wasn't a moment they weren't working on my tasks.
