I followed their contract terms exactly, sending a certified letter with a doctor's note confirming I could no longer use the gym for medical reasons (exceeding 6 months). Instead of honoring their own policy, they became completely evasive--ignoring my emails, dodging my calls, and refusing to provide any response. To make matters worse, Nicole, the manager, was extremely rude and unprofessional when I tried to resolve this after finally getting in touch with her. Instead of assisting me, she was dismissive and unhelpful. Beyond their shady business practices, the sauna has visible wood rot and decay (or mold), and since joining, I've had two fungal infections--something I've never dealt with before. Given these conditions and experiences, I'm filing formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the New York State Health Board to hold them accountable. Since they kept charging me despite my cancellation request, I had no choice but to dispute the charges and block payments through my credit card company. If you're thinking of joining this gym--don't. Their lack of ethics, poor management, and unsanitary conditions make this a terrible choice. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere that values its members.

A women-only environment can be much more comfortable than a co-ed gym, and the variety of workout options is definitely better than a one-trick pony like Curves. However, I had some problems with this location. First, the employees are really not fitness experts. I don't know if they have credentials or not, they probably do, but they recommend using the weight machines in ways that are downright risky. I would recommend that if you plan to start a workout / strength-training routine, you do some of your own research on doing so safely and properly. Secondly, and this is the real reason I am giving them 2 stars -- the contract has been written so that you must cancel in writing or your membership renews every month. At this point I know better and never assume a membership is canceled just because someone tells me it won't automatically renew. But when I was 19 and still a little naive, and spoke to the woman at the front desk to ensure that my membership was not going to renew after I moved out of the state, she assured me I had nothing to worry about, that I had a 6 month membership and that after the 6 months was up, it wouldn't renew unless I asked them to. Guess what? A few months later, they sent me to collections. Trying to settle this directly with Lucille Roberts was fruitless, as the contracts are negotiated through corporate, who insisted that anything I was told at the Lucille Roberts location didn't amount to a hill of beans. So there I went, paying a few hundred that I didn't have for a gym I hadn't even been in the same state as for months. Thanks, Lucille! If you join, keep your paperwork, don't listen to the people who work there (they have no clue about fitness OR business practices), and remember that gym memberships are often out to scam members.

My biggest complaint is about the women who attend the classes. Many of whom are well over 60. They tend to hang around before and after class talking to each other which is fine if they weren't in the way of those of us who need to get to a reformer. And as if that weren't enough, they become disruptive during class by either texting on their phones or Apple Watches or talking to each other, interrupting the class. So rude. And of course the instructors won't say anything to stop this. Then there is the fact that once you join pilates, the date you actually join is your payment date moving forward and you won't be able to push a class past that day. Meaning, you'll lose any day you don't use a class cause you won't be able to move said class to another day. A complete waste of time and money. Not worth it. I do not recommend.

Title refuses to give me back the money they continued charging and will not issue a refund. I have called at least 15 times and no one from management will return my calls or speak to me. RUN!!!
