I had very mixed experiences here. The first time I had to wait for the doctor for over 20 minutes while he chatted with another patient about moving to a new home, the patient being a lawyer, etc. I ended up staying for over two hours for my first consultation. The doctor is cheerful and asked me if I would like to get my wisdom tooth immediately and that it would take about five minutes. Obviously, I was not prepared for surgery and was starving at that point because it was getting late in the afternoon.
I came back for surgery last Friday. Previous to the surgery, I was asked to pay for a consultation I was told was free. After speaking to the manager for a long time, she resolved this issue and I wasn't billed. On the day of the surgery, I had about four painful shots for an impacted wisdom tooth. I understand the doctor was good at getting the tooth out in under 30 minutes and the surgery was successful but what I was unhappy about was that the assistant laughed really hard in the middle of my painful surgery and then at the end dropped a heavy object on my finger which caused my left index finger to turn red and hurt. When I asked her what happened, she denied knowing anything about it. I was written up some drugs but wasn't explained what they were and immediately was told to leave without any time to rest after a painful surgery. The office was packed and the doctor was very busy seeing many patients all at once.
All in all, the experience felt rushed and the goal appeared to get as many surgeries done as as fast as possible. It was not about the comfort of the patient. The doctor did call my the next day to check on me but that was after a rushed experience during the actual surgery. I had tremendous swelling after one tooth removal and had to take a day off work the next day. My face was in great pain all day after the surgery and it took about four days for the swelling to go down.
P.S. My jaw where the extraction took place became increasingly sore so I checked with the doctor and he was very quick to respond and he gave me a syringe and cleaned out my wound with peroxide and salt water. My husband said that he should have given me the syringe when I was at the surgery so that I could keep the wound clean and not wait till my mouth got infected and I wasn't feeling well. : ( read more
