Please go and check them out if you're looking for authentic soul food, like grandma made. Levy's is your place. My husband had the ribs, collards, and mac & cheese. I had the turkey wings with the collards and mac and cheese. Our food came with hush puppies. The food was so good, we will be back. The food was delicious, even better than I expected it to be. I had the pig feet with macaroni and cheese and yams and all I can say is "WOW " the service was spectacular and the ambiance blew me and my family away! The reason I say the ambiance blew us away was because along with it came the stories told by the owner Levy, and his welcoming family that called me Aunt Joyce. Now back to the food the portions were more than ample even though my husband and brother and sister-in-law cleaned their plates, I just couldn't, maybe it was the really decent side plate of pig tails that she let me sample that just took me over the top (smile). I don't know why this place doesn't have a solid 5 star rating. Super friendly staff, very clean and the food is awesome. I had the pork ribs with a double side of fried okra. The ribs were cooked to perfection, they held together on the bone but were tender and juicy., and for the okra, it was cooked perfectly with moist okra and a crispy coating. I will definately be back and plan on having the beef brisket with a side of cabbage. Best of all they are family owned and veteran friendly. Two things I appreciate. read more

My daughters and I like to try a new place for lunch each week and this week we went to Levy's. OMG! Yesterday was our first time eating at Levy's and we were not disappointed. Everything was great from the BBQ pork/turkey, chicken n dumplings, baked turkey wings and OMG the 10 cheese Mac n Cheese and Collard Greens However, I would give this place 10 stars if I could just from the warm reception I received from Mr. Levy as I called and inquired about the menu amongst other things as we are newcomers to NC. Interestingly he was just as nice when I met him in person. With Levy's having great food and customer service, we are definitely adding this to our takeout rotation. I came into town from New York to visit my sister. She told be about this place before I left NY, so I was very excited to try the food here. When I arrived, I was struck by how spacious and relaxing the dining room is was. The staff is warm and very friendly. I don't eat soul food too often but was raised on it due to the fact both my parents are from the south. I ordered the carfish, collard greens and mac and cheese. Soul food is normally very salty. Levi's was perfectly seasoned and not overly salty. The catfish tasted fresh and was fried to a crispy perfection. I was totally satisfied with the food and will make this my go to place when I'm back in Bunn. read more

Don't walk, RUN to Levy's!! This is such an amazing place to eat and to make things even better, it's family owned! The atmosphere, the service, the taste...I think this might as well be one of the best places I've ever had. It looks and feels like home and warms my heart. We had the opportunity to talk to Mr. Levy himself and he was such a gem, really made us feel welcome. The pictures on the walls are his ancestors as he told us which is a really cool and special touch to have. The staff (his amazing family) was also very helpful when we were ordering and had no problem serving us again when we went back for seconds not even 10 minutes later lol. They were cleaning constantly and it shows because the place was sparkly clean which makes you feel confident that their kitchen is also clean. Everything is cooked to order and seen below, we got the mac & cheese (my favorite), pork chop sandwich (gone in seconds), and chicken barbecue sandwich and I'm not really a chicken person but it was FALL OFF THE BONE and everything just melts perfectly in your mouth. The Turkey Barbecue Sandwich with Coleslaw was delicious. I also had the Potato Salad and Collard Greens, which was delicious, too. The restaurant was clean, and there was plenty of seating. There is also plenty of parking. The staff was polite, helpful and very friendly on Saturday evening. I will definitely be back on my next trip from Upper Marlboro Maryland to Lake Royale. Not impressed at all. I went the first week they were open for lunch. Got the ribs because I really wanted the fried pork chop but they would have to cook it so then I ask about the fried chicken. Same thing would have to cook it. So then I decided on the ribs. They tasted awful. They had been cooked to death, so even with all the bbq sauce on them the meat was dry. I don't even remember what sides I got but obviously they didn't impress me either. My boyfriend was with me he got bbq chicken, he said it tasted like a rotisserie chicken with bbq sauce on it. I'm gonna go back later because maybe it was because it was the first week of opening.Maybe they will have all the kinks worked by now. read more

My family visited Levy's Soul Cafe in Bunn, NC to celebrate a family member's birthday on 1/22/2023. The restaurant was very clean. The atmosphere was nice with television on the walls and pictures for conversation. The bathroom was also clean. Unfortunately, my family did not enjoy the food overall. The prices were higher than nicer chain restaurants in Wake Forest and Raleigh. My turkey barbecue sandwich was fine, the potato salad was average. My son ordered fried chicken which was over cooked and practically burned. Instead of coming out to explain the issue, the lady behind the cash register brought the burned chicken out and asked my son to come by the window before he leaves for fresh chicken.....I couldn't believe it! I'm sure that she saw our shock therefore she brought out another plate of chicken later that looked identical to the first plate. Several family members stated that their food was NOT good. We were served our food in to go plates with small plastic forks. I have never experienced this while dining in a restaurant. Most of our family waited a long time to get our food. I only ordered a sandwich and potato Salad yet I waited probably 15 minutes. Some of our family had finished their entire meal while others were waiting to receive their meal.....correction: they ate what they could. I asked for a cup of water with my meal. I was given a cup about the size of a mouth rinse cup. To sum this up.....My entire family stated that this would be our first and last visit to Levy's....PS.....We also waited in line for our food a very long time while the cashier discussed the tickets with the other employees. Please change the batter of your chicken, change the oil and turn down the heat on the oil. Please hire qualified cooks, add silverware, plates, cups and a dishwasher. Please ensure that your food is properly prepared before serving. Hopefully, other customers will enjoy after the changes are made. read more
