I paid a hefty $4,794.63 deposit based on terms that were clearly agreed upon: 1/3 deposit and the remaining upon completion. However, as soon as I sent over the money Erick unilaterally changed the payment terms to demand 66% of the payment or they would not start work AND would not refund any of the money. He intentionally changed the agreement, and when I asked for my refund because I was not okay with this, he became unprofessional and started swearing hurling personal insults. Something no legitimate business owner would do. BE WARNED ERICK HAS NO WRITTEN CONTRACTS AND ALTERS TERMS AFTER MONEY IS SENT. If you value honesty, professionalism, and protecting your hard earned money, stay far away. Where other contractors canceled appointments, arrived late, or were just no-shows - Mikel (out of their Hudson office) arrived on time and did a thorough assessment of the roof including taking drone footage. He sat with me and walked me through the whole process clearly, explaining all my choices in materials and didn't push any product or add-on. I did receive marginally cheaper quotes, but they did not leave me feeling like my home was in good hands in the same way that Mikel did, and I felt the extra money was likely to be worth it. Once I decided to go ahead with them, again, everything was done very professionally. I was kept informed of times and everybody showed up exactly when they said they would. I made a small change to the scope of the work in replacing additional plywood sections of the roof, and these were easily accommodated on short notice. On the day of the work, the crew showed up on time and Jurgan (the site foreman) kept everything moving with minimal disruption to us. I was working from home, and my wife and kids were in and out of the house for school and errands. Despite replacing the entire roof of the main building and two additions over approximately 9 hours, there was minimal disruption to our days. The house was protected during the work, and even with snow still on the ground, their cleanup crew constantly walked the property picking up and disposing of any debris, nails, old material etc. Ultimately the roof was replaced successfully and looks good. Every step of the job was explained to me, every question answered, and every decision explained. The team was professional, punctual and courteous throughout. A couple of weeks in and we've had snow, rain and strong winds. Everything is still perfect. I can highly recommend Mikel and Jurgan from Golden Group, Hudson.

I was initially quoted $2.8k for the repair of a small piece of roof (50-60sqft) outside of our kitchen window. After I told the salesperson I wanted to discuss it with my husband, he returned with a new quote of $3.3k and claimed the original quote never existed. Since we already had water damage and needed the repair urgently because of the horrible CT winter, we felt pressured to move forward. But the repair also wasn't scheduled as quickly as promised. I had to make several calls to finally get someone to come out since the job was "too small" (yet they asked for three grand). Horrible sales experience. The technician, however, was excellent. When we experienced another small leak after the repair, he came back promptly and fixed it without hesitation. He was professional, responsive, and the only reason this review isn't zero star.
