Recently had work done in a bathroom. Very satisfied with the team. Would definitely hire them again.

Absolute disaster. Terrible communication from start to finish. No initial walkaround to establish expectations. No final check out before leaving the job site. Contractor canceled the majority of the work due to lack of 'acceptable' supplies, without my knowledge or consent. The contract should not have been proposed if work could not be completed as promised. Major work was left unfinished (installation of smart thermostat) but still charged for the work on the final bill. Repairs promised as not-noticeable upon completion look absolutely terrible (see photos). My son and I had to help install/mount my 77" TV because only one contractor showed up for the entire $2500 job over the course of four days. This project seemed to be a complete afterthought for Girls 'N Tools. Would not recommend (even for small jobs/maintenance) under any circumstances, whatsoever. read more

Over Promised results under delivered but to the letter of the contract (various) handyman repairs) despite verbal agreements (one "for instance": align all cabinet drawers). Promised work (garage door opener, a two person job) without qualified techs. Only one unqualified worker was sent; $2K later another company repaired their work, including a wiring harness their worker spliced due to improper staples. During the course of my work they seem to have transitioned to full rehabbing of dilapidated properties and have refused smaller jobs. Pity those that buy them. read more

Girls n' Tools performed carpentry, staining, painting, and power washing on our screened porch, rear deck, and home at Briarwood Falls in Danielson, CT. I had a siding and roofing job that the previous contractor had abandoned. They did a quick professional job of correcting mistakes and finishing the vinyl siding and breather board. They gave me extra nails and fasteners at the end and carried off debris left by the former contractor. They were great, prompt and I would highly recommend them. read more

The "good" reviews are from jessica gervais' friends, who have never had work done on their homes. Do not hire this contractor!!! she has multiple lawsuits against her projects. If I could leave less than one star I would. Hiring Girls n Tools was a nightmare. My HOA (of which I'm a paying member) hired Jessica to replace two sliders and windows. The work started in June 2021 and I had concerns right away when it took an entire work day (for which Jessica was not present) to remove one slider. They left the door halfway out of the wall for an entire weekend to which she said "sorry these things happen". After a ridiculously long period of almost two months and trying to address multiple concerns (damaged walls, doors were measured wrong, didn't know they needed boom truck etc) they said the work was finished. The work didn't pass inspection. She came back to make "repairs" and the the work STILL didn't pass. Water was leaking less than a week later. I have wonderful competent contractors at my home currently pulling out everything and redoing all of the work. The doors were installed to the interior rather than exterior, they cut back tile they weren't supposed to, a load bearing header was CUT OUT and also removed the doors' factory installed flanges to incorrectly install doors, making it so that water was redirected towards the house instead of away from it. Siding was cut and badly caulked instead of replaced and there was NO insulation installed around anything. Beyond that they damaged my wall and charged to repair it, painted exterior wood while it was wet, and painted raw wood trim that was already nailed on the wall. The reveal is not even and one of the doors is off center in the wall and off level. The incompetence of this crew is off the charts and Jessica will take your money and run and badmouth her customers when they complain. Local lawyers are very familiar with the name of her business as are the building inspectors- if you don't believe me just ask around. I have dozens more photos and videos as well as emails, text screenshots, and reports from the building inspector and current contractors. Do not hire unless you want to waste your money. read more

I called in July to get a quote to have my screened porch renovated. It needed new screens, a door repair and pickets added to the bottom screens to prevent dogs from going through the screens. The quote was good and contact signed in July (after a revision, I wanted wooden pockets not pvc) I did not hear from them for months so I decided to call the check to see where I was in the cue. I was told that the job would be started in mid October. The job started and the technician was great The first problem arose when he showed up with pvc pickets. Luckily I was able to stop him before he had done a lot of work. He showed me what they had given him and I showed him my contact. Communication not very good. The technician shifted gears and fixed the problem. Again he was great. Job is nearing completion and I receive an email with the final payment which was $400 more than the contract. I questioned why and was told it was due to extra work. There was no extra work just corrections to their mistakes. After discussion I agreed to pay it just to finally get the job done. Upon final inspection (before I mailed the check) I found missing molding on the outside. I sent a video of the missing item and was told that it would be corrected that day. The technician showed while I was at work and fixed half of the problem. I immediately called and they sent the tech right back and I showed him what I was referring to. He agreed that it looked unfinished and fixed it the next day. His work and work ethic was outstanding. (I did get his name and contact info so I will work directly with him next time I have a project). But the story doesn't end there. I sent the check off in the mail. Over this past weekend we had some bad weather and wind and yes you guessed it one of the screens broke after only a week. On Saturday morning I called, emailed and texted but got no response until about 10:00 am Monday morning. They are sending someone over to fix it today (I hope). The person who did the estimate never came back. The only person that came to the job site was the technician. Communication was poor at best. The only reason they are getting 2 stars is because the technician (who is an outside contractor) was awesome. If you use Girls n Tools make sure everything and I mean everything is in writing. I am in the floral field and we have people who are called order gatherers. These people gather orders from all over and send them to florists to fill. I'm my opinion these people are contract gatherers. The give estimates and scatter the jobs out to others to do the work. Not the best by far. I would say avoid at all costs. read more

Girls n tools completed several different projects in a timely and conscientious manner. From structural support in a 200 year old house to finish work on a condo and providing ADA installations. Every project was completed on time and as quoted. Would definitely recommend. read more

We have used Girls N Tools on multiple occasions and are always pleased with the work that is done. Jessie is extremely knowledgeable and experienced, has great suggestions and a pleasure to work with. She has done structural work on our old "antique " house as well as painting, installed molding, hardwood flooring, installed accessibility features like grab bars, etc. and always does a great job! She keeps you updated when you change the job and costs change . Her prices are reasonable and best of all she is so reliable!! This was not my experience with contractors until I met Girls N Tools! Buyer Beware of her contract!!! First, she underbid on our "fixture budget" to offer a lower quote. Then, as per the contract, the buyer is responsible to pay the difference in the end. We found Jessica and her team to be capable and competent throughout the process. They were professional and trust worthy at all times, their work was detail-oriented.
