Put down drop cloths, vacuumed and left barely any traces of any mess. Let's face it, if you get insulation it is MESSY. You can't expect absolute perfection but from watching the guys work and how messy and dirty it got, I am absolutely surprised at the care they took to clean up afterward. What was nice was that the guys were talkative in giving advice and tips and feedback for insulating and making my home more efficient. They explained the material they used, why they were doing what they did. The lead guy even called the RISE engineer over to question the plan in one of the areas of my house; and the RISE engineer agree to modify per the insulator's advice. Seth and his crew worked very hard, I had no issues trusting them, they were professional and they left us with no mess to clean up. They took a rotting old wood deck and replaced it with composite, added a fill PVC railing and re-did all the framing, flashing, added sonotubes and support beams to ensure a long-lasting and safe product. Impossible to get a hold of and horrible workmanship. Made an initial payment of $4800 in May to…read moreinstall doors and paint my deck and shed. Had to beg him in July just do the deck. He sprayed the deck without taping anything off. He painted the screens, door hinges, screen door sidewalk, side of the house and the mini splits. The deck started pealing almost immediately, the only paint that didn't peel was on the house or the many leaves he painted to the deck (have photos as proof). He told us he would not charge us for the poor workmanship and would fix it. He ghosted us after that. In august we asked for our money back to which he agreed verbally. After 3 weeks of not not contacting us back he has his wife email us and say they will not do any refunds because of a contract. I'm out 4800 and damage to my home, do not use this "contractor".

The patio and retaining wall look great. The project took longer than expected, but those delays were all on our side. We took longer than we should have to make various decisions about light fixtures, etc. We also changed the scope of the project a few times, adding more areas of walkways that we decided needed to be refinished with the stamped concrete. We entered into contract with this company in December of 2018 to install a new roof which included…read morea ridge vent (for ventilation). On the day the new roof was installed we arrived home from work after dark to a dumpster filled with old roofing material and on the top of the pile was quite a few empty beer cans and beer boxes, I knew this was a bad sign so I took photos of this. 3 months later the entire roof leaked because they forgot to put the water and ice barrier down. They also did not install the ridge vent (we questioned this via email and the owners response was he couldn't because of the pitch of the roof which is rediculous, you can put a ridge vent on any roof!) Due to the lack of ventilation it caused black mold in the entire attic. They came to fix it by installing the water/ice barrier material that they forgot to put on in march of 2019 but still did not install a ridge vent which is needed to vent air into the attic. I repeatedly voiced my concerns to the owner about the mold and he emailed me that it wasn't mold, just algae and it would dry up. Its now 14 months later (and we now have become very educated on roof ventilation) after several emails back and fourth to the owner and a final phone call to him which he became extremely belligerent, told me it's not his fault and told me to F off and hung up on me. We now have hired a very expensive mold abatement company and also had to pay a new professional roofing contractor to install a ridge vent which was in my contract with JS&R Roofing. Such a nightmare!!!

These contractors were always communicative and willing to discuss options and solutions to some of the unique challenges we faced, particularly while redoing our kitchen and upgrading our bathroom. KlausLarsen Roofing began work on a neighbors roof in Suffield, CT May 28, 2026 without pulling a…read morepermit. The homeowner is well known as a bigot. I noticed workers stripping the roof into my backyard without permission. When I went out to speak to the workers, none spoke English. Site manager Mark Libiszewski came over and I explained he didn't ask permission and does not have permission to strip the haters roof onto our property. The bigot called police. That is when it was discovered no roofing permit had been pulled. Site manager blamed it on a 3rd party error. Police explained [on video + audio] work came to a halt & once a permit is pulled work will resume within 10 to 14 days. The site manager will come to my house prior to work starting and touch base. No stripping will be done on our property but workers will come over to pickup errant debris and nail sweep with a magnet. Five days later, June 2, I noticed tarps, plywood, and workers stripping the neighbors roof into our yard. When I walked over to confront the same site manager the tarps were coming down as the roof was speed stripped by the hard-working crew. I reiterated to Mark he did not have permission to strip the bigots roof onto our property and if he needed that kind of access we should be compensated for it. Mark said he had no authority to compensate and they always go onto other peoples property when needed. Mark also said Suffield Police said we gave permission and insinuated I was calling police a liar. I subsequently called KlausLarsen office and spoke to Cora, Production Department, who told me I need to speak to Joanie Dunstan Mgr. Two days later I connected with Joanie who had to speak to someone else and then would call my son who owns the property. Needless to say my son is still waiting for a call. In summary, KlausLarsen did not pull a proper permit initially, feels entitled to send equipment & crew onto other peoples property without permission even when told not to. We inadvertently helped a bigot get his roof done by a crew of foreign hard workers he despises and our yard was the receptacle for the bigots roof trash. I cannot speak to pricing or quality of work but I can speak to the unprofessional and disrespectful manner in which we were treated.
