Damage to my car door was due to an ethnic gentleman backing a landscaping trailer into my car. Yes, the comment about the fact he was ethnic is important because his English got better and better as it became evident that a police report was being taken. I've had problems with other repair shops, so when my insurance agent said this place had a great reputation, I believed them and was not disappointed. The insurance estimate was rediculously low from my experience. The estimator at Gerber walked out to the car, saw the damage from a distance and said, "you need a new door". (I knew that before I showed up.) Gerber handled all the repairs for the higher amount and as a TV commercial for an at-home food service, here is the best part - I did nothing. All paperwork breezed through Parts arrived on time to complete the scheduled repair. It took three weeks but that is what I expected. The repair looks like it never happened. They even provided some service above and beyond expectations. As soon as i go the car back, the door belt molding seal loosened. I brought it back. The problem was that it was a crimp on molding that was not seated properly. I expect returns. They brought the car back in to shop, fixed the crimp issue and returned it in less time that it takes to get a calzone prepared at my favorite Italian restaurant. I was told that if it still was an issue, they would order a new part. Project was on time, under budget and a minor quality issue was fixed. What more can I say?

I would advise against Safelite based on my recent experience. Last month, my windshield was…read morereplaced on my car due to a chip from road debris on the interstate. Following the replacement, I noticed that my paint was badly chipped on the roof right beside the windshield glass from where an adhesive or tool was used to change the glass. Upon reaching out to Safelite, an appointment was scheduled for a specialist to come out to inspect the damage, photograph the car, and document the claim. On the day of this appointment, I was called stating my appointment was canceled due to staffing issues. I had to call back to set up a new appointment the following week. On the new date, someone showed, took pictures for about 5 minutes, and left after waiting all day during their five hour window they provided. I was told the manager would take a look at the pictures and reach back out once they decided the best option. A week went by and nobody ever reached back out. When we called, we were not able to speak to manager. Since then, we have still heard nothing. It seems this was all just a ploy to avoid their damages and a hope for us to forget. I guess their plan worked, because we ended up having to pay $300 to repair the damaged roof without any financial support, manager follow-up, or apology from this company. I am greatly disappointed in Safelite and will not use nor recommend their services to anyone. They lack communication and professionalism.
