If you're reading this review you're probably skeptical of the amount of overwhelmingly positive reviews on this shop. "Are they actually that good? They must do great work and have great customer service." That's at least what I thought based on their rating, however, I was wrong. ProTint is a small shop on the border of Murfreesboro and Smyrna. The lobby is relatively clean and when you walk in nothing stands out. I went on a cloudy 89° day in September and the A/C struggled to cool the small room. I walked out sweaty on both of my visits. The restroom is disgusting (sort of expected, no big deal) and there were no paper towels stocked so I had to use one of the unused rolls of toilet paper to dry my hands. My car is brand new, really nice and expensive. I assure you I'm not bragging. I bought my dream sports car, I paid thousands of dollars just to protect the paint with top of the line PPF (thankfully at a different shop), so I also wanted top of the line window tints. Living in the heart of Nashville I had a lot of options around me when it came to shopping around for a shop. I usually go to 'Music City Window Tinting' and have never had any issues. They do high quality work, but they would have taken too long to get my car in, so I decided to find a place that could get me in sooner and still provide the high level of quality that I always look for. Big mistake. I decided to go with 'Protint' because based on their reviews I assumed they did high quality work, and I assume their rating gets them plenty of business. I went with the top of the line 'Stratos' ceramic tint. An $800 job on my small, 2 side windows sports car. I made an appointment a week early and they finished the job in UNDER AN HOUR. I was pleasantly impressed until I was able to wash my car after the recommended 5 day period. There were a variety of issues on the windshield. There was a white streak across the bottom of the windshield that looked like part of the film hadn't glued onto the glass, but it turns out it was just some leftover grime from their installation. I wasn't able to reach it because it was right at the bottom and my microfiber towel just didn't reach, however, they cleaned it up for me. A rare positive point. On the passenger side of the windshield there are AT LEAST 5 small bubbles from dirt and HAIR that they failed to clean up! This explains how they were able to get me in and out of the shop in under an hour... When I contacted them about this they asked me when I could take the car back, and I thought "this must be why their ratings are so good. Great customer service, no questions asked." WRONG. As soon as I arrived to the shop I felt a sense of "this guy is such an A-hole". When I pointed out all of the flaws in their work I was told "you have to understand that the windshield is the biggest window of the car"... I'm not kidding. I guess these guys didn't anticipate for my car to have a windshield? Mind you, my car is SMALL and so are the windows. They took the car in and brought it back out in about 30 minutes. As I was waiting I got the sense that they were redoing the windshield, but again, I was wrong. All they did was WIPE IT! Why did this take 30 minutes when the entire installation of the whole car took about 50? I asked the manager that same question and he got really nasty as he explained to me that cars do indeed have windshields and I should know that they are bigger than the other windows so they are bound to have dirt and hair trapped on the film during installation... After I explained how that's something that they should anticipate and avoid on a service of this price (again, $800) he interrupted me and asked "what do you want me to do man?" He said that if they were to redo the installation that it would have even more flaws. Clearly that was his way of saying "F you. Take it or I'll make it worse". There is no way all of these reviews are genuine when shops with better reputation, products, prices, craftsmanship and customer service in the Nashville and surrounding areas don't even have as many interactions, positive or otherwise. I booked an appointment with 'Music City Window Tinting' on the same day to have the windshield redone. I will never take a car to these rude, fraudulent amateurs again and if you value your vehicle and are looking for high quality service I suggest you do the same. read more

ProTint had tinted my 2 front windows. I had called to let them know on the drivers window there are many streaks. Looks like its between the tint & glass wa sn't there before. Ricky is AWESOME!! He's tinted the windows on my truck and my Charger and I'll take my Challenger to him when it needs re-tinting. (I bought it with tint already and I'm not thrilled with it. ) He's fast, does an immaculate job, and you won't find a friendlier guy anywhere! He was sincerely distraught when he found an imperfection in my glass. Yes, IN the GLASS! The tint made it a little more obvious but that's not his fault! That didn't stop him from apologizing. Would have been a 5 star experience except for a few small details. To start, the service is incredibly fast. My whole car was tinted in about 45 minutes which was awesome. Everybody who worked there was very kind and welcoming. My only complaints are that 1.) the car wasn't cleaned up like it should have been after the service. There was dried water drips on the inside of my door frame that should have been cleaned up before returning to me. Small issue that I can certainly clean myself, just shouldn't have to. 2.) I wasn't able to check the edges on my windows until a few days had passed (so that the tint could cure properly). Upon inspecting, my front driver side window had an uneven tint edge (the tint doesn't go all the way to the edge), as well as on my front passenger window. Both of these are small issues that Scott offered to fix for me, but it's an hour and a half drive for me and the gas/time wasn't worth the trip to get it fixed when it should have been cleaned/done properly the first time. Though I do appreciate him offering to fix it for me. Other then that, as I mentioned, the rest of the tint looks great. No bubbles that I've noticed and the customer service was good with a clean shop. Just wish I didn't have to make another trip out. read more

I've been wanting to get my windows tinted for awhile now. I have a 6-month-old & was ready to drop my "mom" window shades-LOL. I contacted them over the weekend off of their website for a quote. They left me a voicemail and text with the quote on Monday morning. It was the lowest I've seen and they offer lifetime warranty! I called back and they were able to get me in right away. Scott went over the different types and was very knowledgeable. After I signed in and chose my tinting, Scott helped me grab my diaper bag and stroller out of my car so I didn't have to take my baby back out in the rain. I came here trying to find a professional spot to get my windows tinted and when I got here the receptionist was super nice and seemed like a legit place. So when they finished my car there was a bubble I told the black dude about and he fixed it. So I went to put my police sticker on the window and noticed they didn't cut the part out for my 3rd brake light. I called the shop back and was told that he doesn't cut out the part for the third brake light, and I stated that's illegal. He then told me well the tint % I got was illegal and I didn't care. At this part of the conversation he started to get real nasty with me over the phone. My boyfriend who is a cop, ended up calling Scott and he told the store owner that he works for the police department and the entire conversation went different from when I spoke to him. He told us to bring the car back into the shop and he would fix it no problem. So we went to get the windows fixed and the second we got in there my boyfriend gave Scott a hand shake and then Scott said show me your police badge, so my boyfriend did that and then started to say things like I don't like your tone of voice when the first thing we did was be very nice. They had us drive an hour out just to lie and say he was going to fix it. The owners lucky it didn't get worse for him and we just left. I will put a review on BBB because this company will send you an email stating tell us how we did, and if something didn't go as expected to go ahead and call them. It's all lies and I don't know anyone who would want to do business with people that are so nasty and rude. Tint is bubbling and peeling on the back windows. Had my husband's windows tinted today for Father's Day. I received top notch service from me asking for a quote through Yelp, to me paying and checking out. I arrived a few minutes early because I knew I needed to decide between the various options. The gentleman that helped me was thorough in explaining the differences and what was legal. I was told in my quote it would take approximately 2 hours. To my surprise they were finished by 10:50 on my Nissan Maxima (I waited in their very nice waiting room). He said they say 2 hours in case they run into anything that may take longer than usual...I love that they managed my expectations and over-delivered! I was given tint options which included "good, better, best and pro" price and quality options. Which included explanation of heat resistance and darkness percentages.
