The events are well-coordinated and the hosts are always friendly, one even remembers me by name. The fellow magic patrons are generally friendly and generally less-competitive than you'll find at Enchanted Grounds or Wizard's Chest. (The events at this game store are usually stated as more about having fun than the competition.) I've always had fun here. All of these events have taken about as long as expected even though some start a little late due to demand. Sometimes events are coordinated online. When it comes to prizes, it's a pack-a-match win. You choose your won pack from current standard, in-universe set packs. Special events may have additional prizes. When it comes to cost/value for your money, they're better than at least half of the game stores I've played at for similar events. As far as the location, they're located along historic, downtown Golden. A lot of restaurants and shops up-and-down the street if you come early. Given when their events are usually timed, there's free ramp parking behind the store. This is my favorite game store I've ever played magic at out of a total of 9 between the areas of Longmont, Boulder, Golden, Littleton, Denver and Castle Rock.

GameForce clearly understands the collectible market when it comes to retro video games. Pricing reflects condition, rarity, and demand in a way that aligns with how secondary markets function, and I don't have an issue with that. That approach makes sense for collectible inventory. However, the handling of Pokémon products feels fundamentally inconsistent with that same logic. In my experience, factory shrink wrap is removed prior to sale. While the contents inside may still be untouched, sealed condition is a major factor in both collector value and authenticity for these types of products. From a collector standpoint, sealed packaging is not just packaging--it is part of the product's condition and long-term value. Once that seal is removed, the item is no longer in a verifiable factory-sealed state, which changes how it is viewed in the secondary market. What makes this more noticeable is the contrast: the store clearly participates in condition-based pricing and scarcity-driven value in one category, while actively altering condition in another. Even if the intention is to discourage scalping or bulk buying, the effect is still a reduction in collectible integrity from a collector's perspective.

When we found the shop, I really enjoyed talking with the two employees that worked on Memorial Day of 2026. They had a variety of unopened boxes for sale. They had a variety of cards that you could purchase for a dollar, five dollars, or more. One of my favorite features was the fact that they can help you get your cards graded for $33. I believe that I will come back and get a few of my personal favorite cards graded with the help of this establishment. I purchased a box of UFC cards and I'm excited to open them up with the family. It's a nostalgic feeling from when I was a child. Hopefully I get a good card and might even get it graded with the help of this establishment.
