1. I didn't find Brande through Level 10. I followed her from San Jose because she has worked miracles with my hair and I trust no one else. I have frizzy, very difficult curls. Before going to Brande, I mostly kept my hair in a ponytail except on the rare occasions it behaved. That occasion is now every single day. She's cut my hair three times now, and the second two she did highlights. I've never felt more confident or happy with my hair. 2. Not only is Brande incredibly skilled, she is very sweet, personable, and full of energy. She isn't just nodding along when you talk, she'll really listen and talk right back. 3. The salon itself is a great environment. Nice wide open spaces, tasteful decor, bright lighting, but not glaringly so. The hot cocoa was even really good. I love the service I get from Erica. She has done my hair for several years now. But in the last 7 years I've relocated to South Carolina.....I still haven't found another Hair Stylist that measures her expertise. She's knowledgeable and very friendly. The salon is very clean and has a refreshing atmosphere. The prices are reasonable and well worth the level of service I receive. My hair is curly & frizzy which has always been a challenge to maintain. She introduced to me to Brazilian Blowout (hair straightening and smoother treatment). OMG...what a difference! I LOVE IT!!! I have never been to a salon before, so as can be imagined - I was a little intimidated in my quest for some sort of style. Sporting what must have looked like a Starter Mullet ala Supercuts, I walked in for some hair products. I was graciously welcomed by Wink, and offered a little advice as well in my process of 'growing my hair out'. This got me thinking about actually breaking from the whole Supercuts thing and actually seeking professional help. I made an appointment, and was quickly and easily accommodated. The experience was calm, refreshing, comfortable and did not seem expensive (though I have no basis for real comparison here). I will definitely be back! --Update: For almost a year now, Wink has been the only one to cut my hair - as well as my wife's. I am so glad I happened to walk by and step in that day. Either there's an obvious border where the blonde hits the brown, or the blonde is too brassy or too high making it look like I'm late for my 5-week root touch up for platinum blonde. I came to Alyssa off of a recommendation, and she delivered. She made my roots a rich, vibrant reddish brown, blended it seamlessly into a perfect shade of multi toned blonde hair, and finished it off with a cut & style. Let me tell you - her cuts are just as good as her color; i left with freshly cut looking hair without feeling like i'd cut any length off at all (isn't that the dream?). I've been going to Liz off and on for about 6 years I think. I'll explain the off and on part. When I met Liz, she was working at a different studio. We hit it off immediately. Prices are reasonable and she's just F A B U L O U S ! ! ! She moved to Level 10 and there was NO WAY I was going to stop going to her... Anyway, my hair is a pain.. It's not quite straight, it's not quite wavy. It's also fine and somewhat finicky. I'll go to Liz and does me right up. Every once in a while, I'll think: hmm, I need something different or the timing doesn't work out since I work in SF (you figure I would have learned by now) I go to someone new and damn near HATE my hair with a passion. Then I stew, deal with it, and let it grow out for a few months then go back to Liz asking her to please fix the fiasco! Asian hair is NOT easy. Hair like mine is even worse. Sure, its easy to get up and go in the AM but that's because Liz cuts it right and it grows out evenly and beautifully. I don't have to mess with it. Give me the wrong cut and I'm a complete mess. This review is for Erica: Erika, the studio owner, has been cutting my hair for about a year now. With work, I sometimes go a few months between a cut and color, but Erika, knowing that, always manages to get my color just right so that it looks good for a long length of time. She's a master highlighter in my opinion and her cuts are always gorgeous. I often have an idea of what I want, but then let her make a recommendation based on my hair type and what she believes will work best for me. I've been going to Erica for 5 years, why has it taken me this long? I have thick curly hair, my last stylist wasn't able to work with it, but Erica has been a miracle worker. I've had the same basic style and color since I've been going to here, but since I'm getting married I want to make sure that I have enough hair to work with. This means growing it out, which in turn means that my thick and curly hair gets a bit unruly and hard to deal with (more so than usual.) I made an appointment with Wink which took a few days to get booked... many phone calls and messages back and forth. The salon is small with her station closest to the door. A little uncomfortable but I went with it. She's very chatty (too chatty for me) and a little 'rough' in handling. Just not a very relaxing experience. The cut was ok and at least worth a second appointment. I realize there's a bit of a 'communication learning curve' with the stylist and customer, as well as with the hair they are cutting so I don't have to have the perfect hair cut the first time to bring me back for another try. Wink is the BEST! I love to change my hair all the time and Wink is great. She listens to what you ask for, if you bring pictures, even better. If a style won't work for you hair, she will tell you why. She always knows what the latest trends are. I appreciate that she keeps my styles chic but not over the top. She did a fantastic job of determining the best color for me after 2 years of never getting the same color I asked for twice at Yosh (PA). Now my hair always looks great - I've never come home with a weird color! She's a master with color and keeps my blonde locks looking fresh and natural. As Jessica said, she always remembers what we did before and can duplicate it or tweak it to my desires. I have referred many friends to her over the years: women, men, and mature teen girls, all of whom have loved her and gone on to become permanent clients! These are some picky folks, many of whom can afford to go get a $300+ hair cut/color, but go to Liz because she's far BETTER, FASTER, and infinitely more fun to work with! I came to my first appointment with no clue what I wanted to do, just something "different". Wink went over some options that would work for my fine hair and coloring and we went from there. Loved the results and went back to see her again. She tweaked what she had done before and my hair looked even better! My color is fantastic and my cut is very easy to style and maintain!
