The reason for my 3-star rating is the pain management aspect of my experience. After surgery, I experienced severe pain that lasted nearly two weeks. During that time, I was unable to work, and could do little beyond resting and trying to manage the discomfort. I understand the doctor's position that studies show Tylenol and ibuprofen are often the most effective approach, and I also understand that stronger pain medications should be prescribed carefully. However, in my case, I felt that the severity of my pain was not taken seriously when I expressed concerns and requested additional relief. I don't think it's one size fits all, and everyone's bodies and pain tolerances are different, and I'm sure the infection I had prior to the surgery didn't help the pain aspect. The small amount of stronger pain medication I was prescribed was the only thing that provided meaningful relief, allowing me to sleep and function without being in constant distress, along with icing my face, but it did not last me enough to be able to go back to work and function, which was very frustrating. I'm in my late 20s, so perhaps my recovery was more difficult than average. Regardless, every patient experiences pain differently and recovers differently. I have full confidence in this doctor's skill and professionalism, but I wish there had been more flexibility and consideration for my individual circumstances when it came to pain management. That part of the experience has made me hesitant about returning, despite my positive impression of the doctor and the quality of the surgery itself.

But Beeta was wonderful about answering all of my questions and concerns. She was patient, reassuring, and responsive, and really helped put us at ease.  We met Dr. Urata for the consultation, and he was so patient and personable as I asked all my questions. He was very knowledgeable and confident, and I immediately felt like my daughter was in good hands. Her teeth were extremely impacted, especially the upper ones, and we honestly weren't sure if all four could be removed. But Dr. Urata was able to remove all four quickly and without complications. Unfortunately, because the growth protruded out, I would occasionally bite it while eating, which caused it to get larger. My dentist recommended having it removed before it became worse, and I'm so glad I was referred to Huntington Oral Surgery & Implant Center. Dr. Neimann was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and informative. He took the time to clearly explain the removal procedure, what to expect, and the healing process, while being completely transparent throughout. The entire staff was professional, understanding, and knowledgeable. The removal itself was quick and painless since they properly numbed the area, and my recovery was surprisingly fast. Aftercare was also very thoughtful--they sent me home with a bag of gauze (which I didn't end up needing), an ice pack (a fantastic idea since I didn't have to go get one), and chapstick. They also provided Dr. Niemann's personal mobile number in case any issues or questions arose after hours, which gave me a lot of peace of mind during recovery.
