Marina was an absolutely wonderful dance teacher for me and my wife. We went to her about 6 weeks before our wedding, not having ever ballroom danced before. We gave her our song and over about 10 sessions she came up with great choreography and taught us all of the steps. She pushed us to be impressive and it really showed at our wedding! We needed to cancel lessons prior to anything being set up 2 business days after purchasing. We got a long drawn out reason as to why we couldn't get our money back. It took 3 agonizing weeks to finally get our money back. I would personally be very careful to have everything explained upfront before doing business with this dance studio. Ask questions as to what exactly is included and when exactly lessons are to take place. Make sure to ask for a contract or some sort of written agreement before money is exchanged is my advice. read more

Marina is a world famous dance instructor who takes time between teaching professionals for us, the brand spanking new dancers of the world. We'd often have lessons sandwiched by impressive groups and couples training for competitions but for our hour we had 100% of her attention. When we first came she listened to our song ( which was a classical piece) and said, "I like it. I am thinking a waltz. " Like I said, we had no experience and at this point and were worried we wouldn't be able to pull this off... But fast forward a few months and we are gliding around like swans, with a few hiccups, but we are nearly there. We watch the video on our phone from recent lessons and its almost unrecognizable. She expects you to practice, so you are not wasting your time or hers. She is a practical eastern European dance teacher classically trained. She gives helpful feedback throughout the process and creates the dance based on the music and couple's ability. We went ahead and opted for additional classes after the initial pack and at this point we are doing lifts, dips and things we could only dream of - again- we could not even slow dance without a panic attack. I am eternally grateful to Mariana for giving us this life skill. My fiancé said to me the other day, "Any house we move into needs to have enough space for us to do the dance." I love that our dance is a measurement we will use for any new home we have going forward. Highly recommended! read more

My dance partner and I have had literally 4 lessons with Marina, and we left today thinking how amazing we both feel and how much we've already accomplished with her in such a short time. I've learned more in those 4 lessons than I had with another Rochester instructor in 4 years lol. Marina is the real deal!! If you want to learn the proper technique of Ballroom, or even need her to help you with Wedding/Event Choreography, she's your lady :) She will make sure you look the very best you can, even if you aren't a "Dancer". My fiance' and I purchased a Groupon because we wanted to learn to dance for our upcoming wedding. We intended to take ten or so classes in order to prepare our wedding dance and learn some other basic steps. Marina choreographed an incredible first dance for us to show off at our wedding and made it so much fun that we were hooked. We have since been taking lessons from her for over six months and have learned waltz, salsa and are now on to swing. We never imagined that we would have so much fun dancing together and develop such a passion for it. We are always having fun while learning new moves and find ourselves constantly laughing and enjoying each others company. This is one of the best things that a couple can do together! Marina is an extremely talented dancer and instructor who takes her job seriously, but always ensures that we are having fun during the learning process. We fully intend to keep up with our newly found hobby and thanks to Marina will continue to get better and better. My husband and I purchased a groupon/living social coupon for 2- 45 minute dance lessons with Marina. We had always wanted to try dancing and with our wedding approaching, we wanted to learn some very basic steps as a couple. When we explained what we wanted from our sessions, Marina acted as if she was insulted that we would come in and attempt to learn how to dance within 2 sessions. We explained that our intention was to learn some basic footing and concepts for dancing together as a couple, not to bust out in a full on waltz at the reception. After stating "what your asking for is impossible," she taught us the basics to the Waltz. Throughout learning the steps and practicing she made us feel very uncomfortable with negative comments and non productive feedback. At one point she stated "this is bad, this is very bad." My husband asked me if I wanted to leave half way through the session but we laughed it off and tried to enjoy our time together. Our lesson was late in the day and I am certain that Marina had several clients before us but we were very disappointed with her customer service skills and overall interactions. We decided not to go ahead with our second lesson, which was already paid for. Although I wouldn't recommend this particular instructor, the studio is very nice. read more
