Went for our anniversary dinner and had a great experience! Service was excellent and it is a beautiful space downtown Petoskey. Fun drink options and a good wine menu. We had the heirloom tomatoes (amazing!), swordfish (also amazing!) and the white bolognese pasta dish (not for me but my husband loved it). Can't wait to return and try more - menu changes seasonally, I love that. read more

Leto's came recommended to us multiple times so when my husband and I went on a date night in Petoskey, this is where we decided to go! We made a reservation online and while my husband was disappointed to be seated upstairs where there were no TVs (there was a World Cup game on at the time), I was fine without the distraction! I started with a glass of wine and we decided to share two pasta dishes: the cacio e pepe and the canestri alla norma. Both were very good, although I thought the canestri alla norma could have used a bit more eggplant! There were a ton of other menu items that sounded amazing but we were full from our pasta. We'll definitely have to return in the future to try some of the other dishes. From the brussel sprouts caesar to the king salmon crudo, roasted carrots and the fried cauliflower, pretty much all of the small plates sounded good to me! I will note that Leto's is probably best for those with adventurous palates, but I'm sure the cacio e pepe is simple enough for most! Thanks Leto's! read more

Amazing Italian food. The waitstaff is super friendly, the restaurant is decorated nicely. But, the food - so good. We started with the carrots. Oh dear. Delicious! See picture. My husband got the White Bolognese. Tasted like pot pie made with fresh pasta. We loved it. I ordered the Spelt Radiatore. Was also good. I am gluten free and all their pasta dishes but one could be ordered with GF pasta. Very nice experience with tasty food. read more

This place was exceptional. There were real flowers on all the tables -- I really appreciate this lovely detail! Our server was warm and amicable and did a good job recommending and describing dishes. We ordered the beets, asparagus, carrots, radiatore, and maccheroni. The beets were simple but good. The asparagus was very lemon forward. The carrots had lots of layers of rich flavor with the pesto and the chili oil and the cheese. The maccheroni was extremelyyyyy rich, packed with flavor, salty. My favorite was my friend's dish, the spelt radiatore, which I felt had a nice balance of flavors and was sophisticated and comforting. My friend and I are visiting from out of state and are surprised at the lack of Italian/pasta restaurants. Thankful we found Leto's, it was exactly what we were in the mood for! read more

Our first time here as "Leto's" did not disappoint. We came here a few times in its previous iteration as well. We arrived early without a reservation and were seated at a high top table at the street side window. Our server Valerie was attentive, knowledgeable, and relaxed. She provided recommendations we were more than happy to accept. Beginning with wine, the dragon bianco white blend luigi baudana easy-drinking deliciousness. My husband gives kudos to the barman for his Rittenhouse Rye Manhattan on a rock w/nice vermouth. The carrots, oh my, have the carrots. Carrots? What can be done with carrots that's not been done before? Trust me and savor those flavors. (I just wish I'd taken a photograph before we devoured them). Next was the burrata. Also outstanding but kinda ruined my appetite for the main course. Mine - the mushroom mafaldine and my husband - the rye gnocchetti, a venison bolognese. Portions were large, "small" plates had plenty to share. Flavors to die for. House made pasta cooked to al dente perfection. Looking forward to the leftovers. Benissimo! read more

Food and staff were amazing, easy to sit down and grab a bite. Never felt rushed at any point. Salmon Crudo was great but highlight was the cheese served with it. Pasta was delicious and great dessert options. read more

Service and ambiance was great! The food absolutely delivered--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We started with the burrata, which was creamy and perfectly paired. The mushroom pasta was rich, earthy, and comforting, while the rigatoni had just the right bite of spice and was full of flavor. Each dish felt thoughtfully prepared and authentic. read more

Just wow! I'm SUCH A FAN OF THIS PLACE. Mady was the best server and the ambiance is stellar. We had the carrots (to die for), the shaved Brussels and the arrabiata. We were all blown away by this food. Do yourself a favor and get here. So so good! read more

The Brussels Caesar here is stupidly good. You Must get it. The Brussels are shaved thin, the dressing (does it have tahini and sesame oil?) is so good. The white bolognese is nice pasta meets chicken pot pie. Comfort in a dish. The mushroom pasta is also so good. I think there's a biiit too much smoked paprika in it. It could use half as much. But the pasta shape and the mushrooms work well together. The wine list here is good- a great selection of Italian options and also California, French, and other options. The pasta dishes are BIG- you can def share a pasta between two while splitting an app or two. read more

Read some reviews from here where people just complain because of their egos, so here's a real review. Our server, Jonas, was outstanding. Good menu knowledge and provided great conversation when prompted. Which is something I personally enjoy. He elevated our experience. Additionally, other servers and staff members came around to check on us. So, as far as service goes, it was great. The food was great. We go tuna carpaccio as a starter which was very good. For entrees we got Cacio e Pepe and the bucatini carbonara. Both were exceptional pasta dishes. As a personal carbonara enthusiast, order it. It was great. Good service and good food make a good restaurant. Go here and enjoy yourself! read more

Favorite restaurant in Northern Michigan! The menu has staples plus new items that they change fairly frequently so there is always something new to try. Everything from the small plates to the pasta is always amazing, Im sure the dessert is too but we're always too full to try it. The servers are always kind and professional, they even box your food for you at the end giving it a fine dining experience. Theyre very attentive and always willing to give recommendations. The ambiance is cozy and relaxed, they always have fresh flowers on the table noise level is quite and you can truly enjoy yourself and relax with the best pasta you'll every try. The drink menu is also amazing. read more

Great food, great drinks, and great service! The pasta is made in house and is excellent. Their old fashioned is a great take on a classic, and their spiced pear spritz was very refreshing. Good vibes and good food read more

Great atmosphere, excellent service, impeccable eats. Leto's is truly a culinary experience that delivers perfection each and every time. It features a menu curated to please. My ideal experience: start with the burrata and focaccia, sample a locally sourced vegetable-based small plate (turnips and carrots are to die for), then move on to the pasta. While the portions are large enough to share, I highly recommend getting a few to sample. The mushroom mafaldine, shrimp arrabiata, and rigatoni amatriciana are not to be missed. Not sure about all the fancy Italian words? Enter Leto's fantastic waitstaff who take the time to answer any and all questions and offer great recommendations. And to top it all off: craft cocktails, mouthwatering seasonal desserts, and an affogato to close out the evening. This spot is truly an experience to remember and repeat, often. read more

A professional chef of considerable skill is lurking in the kitchen. Our party of eight left singing praises of both the food, and the very competent waitstaff. Pasta in made in-house and all types were perfect. Sauces were all delish! Small plates were creative and very tasty. Foodies, take note, this is worth the trip. read more

Hands down one of the best Italian meals we have had in a long while in a restaurant. Interesting cocktail menu and decent wine list. Be sure and start with the small plates. The turnips are amazing and left me wanting more. Who knew turnips could be so yummy. I had the rye gnocchetti and my husband, the puttanesca. The gnocchetti's flavors were complex- red sauce with venison, cherry juice, chocolate. Need I say more. Servers were attentive and we had a friendly chat with Danielle, the bartender. Modern vibe with a warm feel. Can't wait to return on our next visit to Petosky. read more

Four of us were there just after opening. The space is pretty loud and the tables are VERY close together. The shaved Brussel sprouts were really good. However, we had four different entrees that disappointed. The menu has changed so telling you what we had would be irrelevant. We all agreed that things were a little under seasoned and very over salted. I hope, for their sake, they dial it in. I'll be listening for feedback from friends' experiences. read more

Went for my wife's birthday with a group and we had a truly wonderful experience!! The pastas were outstanding! Pricey, but large portions and for the quality it felt worth it! The main dish we split and it was outstanding as well! But the highlight was the zeppolis! One of the best desserts I've had in northern Michigan!!! I live here and so to me, that's huge!!!! The staff was so nice and helpful and the chef went out of his way to be seen and was charming and kind! We will be back and we will tell everyone about it!!! Thanks!!! read more

Excellent wait staff. We arrived on time but our table wasn't ready. We were seated at another table, served drinks then moved to the table we requested. The food was excellent. Started with the asparagus appetizer, followed by the Cacio e Pepe, absolutely wonderful! Will definitely be coming back. read more

my pasta came out barely lukewarm. my friends was piping hot. I told the server and he grabbed a fork and took a bite than told me its supposed to be served that way. first of all I've never had a server taste my dish at the table. I asked them to warm it up and it came back exactly the same way they never offered to redo it. just said oh well we will take it back and refund your money. we ordered to focaccia bread and they charge you for evo and butter. seriously? ive waitressed for years. I was being polite. the correct thing to do was redo the dish bd pologize or t least take it off the bill. they did neither. by the way I still left a tip which they didn't deserve. will never go again read more

We visited for the first time and were so disappointed! We live here in the summer and this place is a lake town loaded with kids all summer. They make absolutely no accommodation for kids and had my daughter carry her stroller upstairs as if they didn't want babies in the main area of the restaurant. My daughter took her baby to restroom and they have NO changing table which is absolutely horrible as she had to change her on floor. The waitress would not change the noodle type to accommodate my granddaughter and they have NO kids menu. The pork chop was so thick for Milanese style and very tough. The ribeye was also not great. I will give them high praise for their appetizers! The fried cauliflower and brussel salad were amazing! I'd definitely steer clear with small children as they don't seem to want them there. I'll wait to get back to Chicago for high end Italian food. read more

1-star for the food, staff and service were 5-star! Stay away from the PORK CHOP thing!!!! I've eaten a lot of exotic foods but this was too weird. The drinks were very "unique" and I had to choke down both mine and my wife's. First review ever, downloaded the app just to get the message out. The issue was a $200 meal we didnt like or finish. The real heroes in this story will be the janitorial staff of the local hotel we are staying at. read more

They refuse to make accommodations to dietary restrictions and are incredibly rude about it. Avoid at all costs

This is not a restaurant to bring kids to. They have zero options for kids and are unwilling to make adjustments to accommodate at all. Most of their dishes are pasta dishes, so we asked them to just have two orders of pasta with butter and Parmesan cheese on the side for the kids. We figured that this would be easy considering they had Cacio e Pepe on the menu. Their response was that they were unable to boil plain noodles for us. Overall, the other food that we had was decent but they seem to think that they are a Michelin-rated restaurant or something. Rude staff definitely were off-putting. I would definitely go elsewhere if you have kids. read more
