Hopped off my flight from San Francisco and took uber straight here to do work. Very cool cafe, one of the best I've seen. It has a hipster vintage vibe, outlets everywhere it felt like, workers seem friendly and sincere, and the food was good. Whoever the middle age white guy was that was working Thursday 7/23 from 8-10pm had a horrible attitude. We took our time looking at the menu as we haven't been there in years and we're met with not a hello but "Finally, some movement." No one was in line behind us and they were not busy. I ordered a b.l.a.t and he condescendingly tells me "You are aware we aren't serving lettuce." No, thats why I ordered it, how would I know. Could have just said hey we're not serving lettuce. I've gone to this location many times. Their menu is not available online so you have to walk to the cashier and look at it there from the screen on top. I personally take forever to decide so it would be helpful to have an online version. They have a QR code on their website, but it does not work. The vibe is very calm and relaxing. However, the Wi-Fi is a little slow. My main issue with this place is the restrooms. The restrooms are so disgusting. On top of that they are unisex. So it's really weird trying to just use the restroom and there's a whole man in both restrooms. Parking isn't easy, but I've never struggled finding a decent parking spot there. Overall, it's relaxing and has lots so tables accommodate many people but they should really clean up the restrooms. And add the menu to their website. And it would be helpful to have better Wi-Fi. read more

The ambiance and barista were great, and the food was decent. However, the cook gave major attitude when a friend with an allergy asked for the California Breakfast Sandwich without egg. When he served it, he condescendingly called out the "Cali that isn't really a Cali" with an annoyed tone. Even before as they were ordering, he started to complain about the order. I get having bad days, but are you really going to make it someone else's problem? If you work with food, you have to deal with allergies! It was rude and uncalled for. I've come here often to study and the place is great and vibes are nice for being 24 hours. Coffee is not all that great however the food is pretty good. Service is normally pretty good except for this one time at night, some bigger giy with glasses and backwards hat gave me the worst attitude when I tried to order food. He said, "No I am sick and I have a cold and I am NOT making any more food." At first I thought he was joking until he said "I'm not joking." he said this after bringing out my friends' orders. At night, this is the place to be if you want to study and get work done. BUT IN THE MORNING, if you are Black, do not go here to start your day. The guy on the morning crew, short white man, gelled come over hairstyle, with a beard & goatee, is passive aggressively racist. If you pay cash, he will adamantly check all your bills but won't check anyone else's. He also will deliberately put your cash on the counter, rather than kindly placing it in your hand. If you order a smoothie, he will deliberately make it watery with no ice. If you ask him to remake it, he'll deliberately make you wait longer to receive it and make it worse than the first one. If you ask for a side of ranch with your pizza bagel, he will be adamant to not give you a package of ranch and make you wait longer for him to find a small cup to split a packet of ranch into 3 cups. He has the absolute worst customer service and is prejudicially racist. Whoever hired this man, should remove him from the team. His energy towards and treatment of Black guest is atrocious. But the night crew, bigger guy with glasses who always has his hat backwards, is amazing! He is extremely kind and offers the same excellence of customer service to everyone who enters the establishment, no matter the race, gender, appearance, etc. He communicates proactively, especially when he's by himself with a lot of drink and food orders. Always has a calm temperament and positive energy. The point of this review is -- THE MORNING CREW SUCKS! The Night Crew is phenomenal!!! It's really cool how each Lestat's location is themed after a vampire first off. Additionally, the service is super great. The baristas are really laid back and always have great stories to tell. I also love this coffee they sell, funky monkey. By far my favorite drink there paired with the avocado toast with egg. Service 5 stars. Ambiance: very cozy and spacious but kinda grundgy. Not bad just is what it is. If you 're trying to get work done or do some late night studying, I think it's a good place to put your head down and just crank out some work. Coffee: I love their coffee selection! I tried the Irish monkey and it was delicious. I forgot to ask for oat milk so I think I'll feel this later lol but still worth purchasing. Extensive selection and lots of different alternatives Lorraine frittata: I was really excited about but....sad to say it was pretty dry. Very this frittata (great, give me sustenance) but so dry. I need to share a really upsetting experience I just had at Lestat's on Park. I went in to buy coffee and bagels. The employee took one look at me, assumed I was homeless, and handed me a free drink I didn't ask for. When I tried to pay for my actual order, he refused to serve me and told me to leave. I am a local resident and a paying customer. It was incredibly insulting to be judged on my appearance and kicked out when I had money in hand. I had to share this unwelcome feedback from this woman who took my order here. It was early morning and I was on my way to volunteer at my son's school. Right off the bat she seemed unprofessional. I walked in. She didn't say hello nothing and just kept doing the trash for the longest time. Then after like 5 minutes she's like Dr.Jekyll &!Hyde and is all bubbly with me. I ordered my drink. Once I paid she then hands me a folded stiff napkin... then she says to me " here so you can blend your makeup". I was shocked as she handed me the napkin. I said to her no thanks I have my makeup brushes in the car. She then tries to makeup for being a weirdo by giving me a larger drink which wasn't necessary. I was just shocked at how unprofessional she was and not to mention her makeup (bright red blush placed in all the wrong areas of her cheeks) she looked like she was a clown at a circus. I figured this woman must be having a bad day or forgot to take her meds this morning to have thought this was appropriate to say to a customer. I will not be coming back here. She needs to be trained asap or she will scare more customers away. read more

Rating: 8/10 One of the better studying spots in San Diego due to it being open 24 hours. Decor is an interesting hodge-podge of chairs, furniture and lighting. There are a good amount of tables, but don't underestimate how busy it can get during finals week! We got here at around 8:30 on a Tuesday. Parking is metered street only on a dark street, and you may have to park pretty far away to find one. We got in and noticed how busy it was. Music wasn't too loud because everyone is studying inside. It was pretty warm inside as well, which lowkey made me feel a bit dizzy after sitting there for an hour. We ordered drinks after we chose a table. 1) Iced London Fog with Sugar Free Vanilla: 7/10. It was good and just sweet enough but it wasn't my favorite coffee shop drink that I've had. Good to sip on while studying. 2) Hot Dirty Chai Latte: 8/10. This was my friend's drink and I thought it was really good! The first sips are creamy and filled with cinnamon (I think), and there is an underlying aftertaste of espresso. Next time I come here, this is the one I'll be getting! Service is great and attentive. The staff is always walking around looking to clean tables. Overall, I would come back if I was looking for a studying spot for some hardcore studying! read more

Their coffee is sooo good! The first time I tasted the Mexican mocha was hot and the second time I tried it was cold and both times were just as good honestly. I brought an out of town friend to this location of Lestat's to get some late morning coffee because she likes an artsy, bohemian type of ambiance. We found a curbside spot right across the street and fed enough money for an hour on the parking meter. Lestat's used to be open 24/7 before the pandemic which was rare to find a local coffee shop that never closes. As others have noted, there are lots of tables and power outlets to set up and plug in electronic devices. My friend got a Mexican coffee with less sugar while I ordered an Arnold Palmer since hot beverages are not my cup of tea (excuse the pun). The iced tea and lemonade mix was ordinary as expected for an Arnold Palmer. We sat and chatted quietly while everyone around us was zoned out doing their own thing. Since neither of us ordered anything to eat, I didn't have any feedback to provide on the food offerings. I should make that a goal for a future visit. read more

A nice spot to take refuge at any time of the day and just enjoy a nice beverage and a snack. Not many places or cafes open 24 hours like Lestat's. The interior is perfectly lit with plenty of eclectic furniture and decor. This is one of 2 locations that I am aware of and closest to home. Very clean, staff are friendly. A pretty funky place that's open 24/7! There's plenty of seating and outlets inside, making this a great place to study late into the night. My only complain would be that the HVAC is really bad, making it really hot and humid. There was a wide variety of drinks and food on the menu: cold and hot drinks, pastries, and sandwiches. I had the Iced Espresso Latte with Oatmilk, which came out to around $6.50, which is reasonable for the area! This was a great pull and tasted great. The service was great as well, giving us the opportunity to ask questions about any of the menu items and coming around the space to collect plates or cups. I have not been to this Lestat's in a very long time, like over ten years. It was nice to be back, though I didn't stay long because I was running errands. Over ten years ago was another lifetime when I met up with friends, acquaintances, or did work on my laptop. Based on what I saw, this is still a great place to do those things. The barista was really nice and friendly. My Iced Vietnamese Coffee was good, though it was their version of it. The place was really hot and stuffy on this summer day, so I was out of there after my drink was ready. I guess I'll take a look around for nostalgia's sake on a cooler day. read more

Person working there was difficult to talk to, I'm super friendly but some people think you're challenging them if you ask any questions off script.
