From day one, he has treated our pool with the same care and pride as if it were his own, and we are beyond thankful for his service. Every single week, he sends a detailed email outlining exactly what he completed, the status of our chemical levels, whether anything was added, and even how long we should wait before swimming. He also includes a picture of our pool after he's finished, which always gives us such peace of mind. It's rare these days to find someone who is not only so thorough, but who genuinely wants you to feel informed and confident about the care your pool is receiving. Our pool has never looked better, but more importantly, we trust Japi completely. His consistency, kindness, and dedication mean so much to us, and it shows in every visit. If you're looking for someone who will take care of your pool with honesty, heart, and true professionalism, we cannot recommend Japi and GP&A Pool Services enough. They've been an absolute blessing to us.

They built a travertine patio in the backyard, hardscaped side yards with pavers and rocks, added a mulch bed to my side yard, and rebuilt a retaining wall. The project manager (Amanda) and owner (Giancarlo) were both professional, helpful and available throughout the entire process. They were also able to accommodate additional projects at the last minute, including adding a French drain system to one of the side yards. Everyone involved was committed to making us 100% happy with the end product, whether that meant changing out chipped travertine tiles, recommending different design options, or making several trips to the worksite to plan out project details and ensure everything was 100% up to par. I would definitely recommend!

Instead of trying to fix a faulty landscaping job, Giancarlo Medrano, responded with homophobic and profanity laced texts detailing how he would confront me, has a gun and threatened to send "his people" over. He also proceeded to label the house that he worked on (a rental property that I manage) as "cheap" and then goes on to brag about his rental property. He seemed so extremely proud about his financed house. Anyway, I had blocked his phone number after the incident but could see more of his texts through my old Apple ID. In these texts, he went from playing Mister Tough Guy to the victim and claimed that I had been the one who harassed and threatened to kill him and claims to have made police and FBI reports. A complete 180 and a testament to his character. What a quality guy. If you run into any problems with his work, be prepared for a load of excuses and insults. Summary of communications via phone calls and texts: *Half year of receiving the run-around (ie. Too busy, out of town, admin forgot to get back to me, blamed others, etc.) to fix the flowerbeds and add the missing drain holes *After many months passed thinking that Giancarlo was working to schedule in a fix, he started blaming the situation on his cousin. He then suggested that I pay a small amount, to which I found agreeable, for the flowerbeds to be fixed. Now he claims that I wanted a free fix... go figure. *I warned Giancarlo about the consequences for not taking ownership of this situation. Gave plenty of opportunities to fix before posting a review that seemed to upset him. *Giancarlo continues to claim that I own the home despite me explaining over the phone that I wasn't the owner and that I just there to help manage the property. *Giancarlo threaten to sue me. I gave him my lawyer's contact and I have yet to receive any contact attempts. *Giancarlo claims that I would be contacted by the police and FBI. I have yet to receive any contact attempts. In conclusion, I can't say that I would recommend doing business with an egotistical owner who tries to gip you at every corner, changes stories and takes no responsibility. But, don't take my word for it. Dig in the yelp reviews to see hidden reviews from others.

However one day after his visit, our chlorine levels didn't even register on our Taylor test kit. I knew right then and there the $200 per month cost was essentially money down the drain and we needed to cancel them. In all fairness the management did try and offer to come out and fix it, but at $200/month? I'm not interested in having to supervise employees to make sure they do the basics. We had such a great experience with the pool installation. We had this issue a few years ago as well and cancelled. We figured it was worth trying again. This time was so much worse. If you're prepared to watch over the tech to make sure they do the basics it's probably fine. For us, that ends up making it no longer a timesaver. Might as well diy. At least I know I'll try to get the chemicals right. I'm not bothering to try to recover the money that essentially went towards nothing, and I almost didn't post this, but it felt irresponsible not to warn others to keep their guard up. Here's hoping that should you move forward, you have a better experience! Crown team- Again, we looooved our install, but I'd seriously exam who you have representing you from a service perspective.

Tile was pre-paid, coping was selected and contract was signed. There were some issues with setting and managing expectations up front but in the end, we are happy with the final product. It is 4/28/22 and pool coping, tile and plaster are complete. We had a 4 month wait and it took 1 month to get the job done. There were a few unexpected expenses during the project but that is to be expected for a project like this. By the time the project was complete we ended up paying roughly 20% more than the quoted amount. Also, we had to choose different coping as the one we originally chose was no longer available due to supply chain issues. There are a lot of shortages going on right now. Workers and supplies. This is not a fault of Blue Escapes, these are just the times now and unfortunately, we along with Blue Escapes were caught in it. This along with price hikes on everything (plaster, tile, etc.) which we weren't charged extra for. Blue Escapes uses quality workers. Watching them lay the tile and take their time with each tile they laid just solidified why it takes a while to complete these remodels. The owner is an honest man who is a wealth of knowledge. Highest Price, Lowest Quality: A 3.5-Year-Old Pool Falling Apart Like It's 15…read more I am writing this to warn any homeowner in North Texas considering Southernwind Pools. I made the mistake of choosing them because they were the highest-priced bid and had strong reviews. I assumed that a premium price tag guaranteed premium quality and professional oversight. I was wrong. In reality, I paid for a luxury product and received bottom-tier craftsmanship from what appear to be the cheapest possible subcontractors. The construction process during COVID was already no fun, which I am not even holding against them. What I am holding them accountable for is the systemic failure of the pool's structure since it was completed in September 2022. The "Infinite" Leak Cycle and Incompetent Service We have dealt with multiple pool leaks since the very beginning. Southernwind was so delayed and unresponsive regarding leak detection that I had to personally pay for three full leak detections out of my own pocket. Even when they finally "fix" a leak, it is a temporary Band-Aid. In late 2024, a leak reappeared in the exact same spot they had supposedly repaired just one year prior. We were losing half an inch of water every single day. As a gesture of good faith after John reached out to "solve" my issues last year, I even signed up for their pool service again. That was a mistake. I quickly found that the pool service was not actually cleaning the pool properly either. It was just another layer of high-priced, low-quality service from a company that clearly does not value its customers once the initial check clears. Substandard Masonry and Tile Failure The tile and grout work on this pool is a disgrace. The grout on the spa began cracking and deteriorating almost immediately. Grout should last for several years, yet mine didn't even last one. After I fought to get it regrouted, it failed again one year later. The tile work is even worse. It was clearly not done properly, without the necessary sealing or treatment required for a pool of this "caliber." In 2025, the tiles began rising and falling out. They were "fixed" by Southernwind, only to have the exact same failure happen again during the 2026 freeze. This time it is a disaster. My entire back panel wall is rising and failing. It is proof that the original installation was fundamentally flawed. Don't Fall for the "Management Fix" I previously wrote a negative review about these issues. The President, John, contacted me and promised to resolve everything if I took the review down. I trusted him and deleted it. That was a massive mistake. The "permanent fixes" they promised were just enough to get me to stay quiet for a few months. Now, in 2026, I am facing the exact same structural failures all over again. Do not let the "premium" branding fool you. Southernwind Pools charges luxury prices but delivers a product that falls apart in under four years. I am now 3.5 years into owning a pool that has the structural problems of a 15-year-old installation. If you value your money and your sanity, look elsewhere.
