My wife and I took over maintenance of our backyard pool earlier this year and needed lots of help coming up to speed with our salt system. We have come to rely on William (Manager) for his expertise and clear explanations of how to get our pool chemistry working correctly. Many bad experiences over the years, so I try not to use this location. A few clerks are nice and helpful and knowledgeable, but most just talk non sense, not shy to get in an argument, because they just know better. Many should not be left alone with the shop, or "manager". Maybe they need to air out the shop more often, smells a lot like chlorine, you breath in when you are in there. Needs better complaint-system. Needs better training what to do if you a r bored and just look for a fight. Purposely leaves it unclear how to use the card machine. Should I choose visa debit when I use a visa debit card? -NO! Highly business oriented "advice" - eg. they sell copper algaecide. Then after problems sell you a product against High metals. coupon /discount problems non-stop, ever changing. My feedback on their site never shows up. ADD: There seems to be a big issue with their test results. The test strips of lesies and chlorox show stabilizer at 50ppm (ok) or lower - but leslies test results show 160! -So should I buy and add stabilizer or drain my pool? ( the teststrips range goes up to 300) read more

Buyer beware!! Please do not come to this store and expect the kids to know what they're talking about. We have a standard pool cleaner (they even carry the model in the store) and came because we needed help repairing it. Well the kid sold us a useless part for nearly $200, and assured us it would fix the problem. Later we did more research and realized it was not the part we needed, and when we came in the next day WITH THE RECIPT, they refused to give us our money back. This is a total "pity F***" 5 star review because I feel so bad for these guys. I went in to check prices on a leaf rake head, brush head and vac head and I would've spent $60 to get ones I wanted. But when I compared items to ones on amazon I would up ordering what I wanted for just under $30, right there in their parking lot! Leslie's is no mom-n-pop store but generally I do like to support brick and mortar stores. You guys just gotta have quality lower priced options. Figure our pool guys have their own equipment and homeowners only buy backup equipment to supplement between pool guy visits. So we're not likely to spend a bunch. read more

Definitely not impressed with the staff, selection and prices here. We had just purchased an above ground pool and were excited to go and purchase all of the start up chemicals and accessories. When we walked in they were friendly and greeted us. Then we told them what kind of pool we had and that we needed help with the chemicals. The attitude changed and the friendly vibe was no more. We were told they couldn't help us much because they don't deal with vinyl pools. While they were able to get us the chemicals we needed that was where it ended. They more or less just wanted to get us out of there. The prices on their pool toys and accessories blew my mind. I couldn't believe how expensive things were there. I began to wonder if we have made the right choice in purchasing a pool. Since then I discovered discount pool mart on De Soto and Roscoe and I have to say that they have everything we need for our type of pool including the hard to find filter cartridges, their pool accessories are very well priced and the staff is incredible. read more

Great service at this Leslie's for many years. Today Mark and Matt fixed a problem for me on a Hayward Phoenix 4X that's only a few months old. My brother purchased this from a Leslie's in the Santa Clarita area, he didn't say which specific Leslie's. After many attempts to get this to keep moving and not just stop he took it back to that store and had it checked. He was told it was working fine by the store staff. He gave it to me to try in my pool as my pool has edges more sloped than his. It wouldn't keep moving in my pool either. Took it in this morning to Matt to check it out. I get his call from Mark about 2pm saying it was fixed come pick it up. Turns out just a slight quality control slip up on Hayward's part, the vanes inside the unit that make it keep moving were never put into it. Mark worked on it and discovered the problem and Matt gave him the go ahead to install the vanes from a used unit they had and not charge me for the repair. Told me to take it and let them know if it works as it should or not. Seems to be working like it should have done had Hayward not left out some parts. When I had tried this unit in my pool initially, I realized how my brother had gotten so frustrated and dumped it on me. Matt and Mark always help me with great info to help keep the pool clean and nice. Always help take items to my car. I contacted Leslies for them to come out and clean my pool filter. Besides them being the most expensive for cleaning the filter, they attempted to rip me off by wanting to sell me a new filter when there was nothing wrong with mine. The repairman looked at my filter, said it had been leaking. He told me that he couldn't work on it. I advised him that the O ring had been replaced a year ago and it hasn't leaked since. He was incompetent and rude and told me " I can see why you don't want to clean the filter" read more

I went there intending to get my pool water tested and buy one thing, but wound up taking advantage of several specially priced sales that he pointed out. My Pool Vac wouldn't move, even after I had the pool filter cleaned and the unit inspected and things adjusted by a different pool supply company. I went to Leslie's in Chatsworth today because I previously had a great experience when Ryan was there a couple of years ago. Store Manager Matt K. took the unit apart, examined all the parts, sold me the few I needed and put it together again, while I waited instead of having to come back in a day or two. This is absolutely the best pool store in the area. What I like the most is that they don't try to sell you what you don't need and they take the time to talk to you and solve your issue. Yet again, my Hayward pool cleaner had a problem. I had taken it to another Leslie's because it was closer to where my errands were. What a mistake! In the first store the clerk told me there was nothing wrong with the machine but with the winds I should buy a bunch of stuff I didn't come in for. That was incredibly irritating. Won't go back there. So I go home put the machine back in and NOTHING! This morning I took it to Chatsworth and Matt took a look, told me what I needed, fixed it and guess what, I also bought product. Why? Because at this store the management and clerks really care about their customers . This is the ONLY store I will go to and it is all because of Matt and the customer service.In this day and age, customer service matters and Leslie's is lucky to have this staff at this location. This place has every thing a person needs to keep their swimming pool clean. The store is very neat and orderly.

I own a very tiny above ground pool. I got it about a year ago and up until recently I didn't have any problems keeping it clean. Then all of a sudden the water turned green and dirty. I decided to shock the pool but didn't see much improvement. I then brought in a sample to Leslies so they could test the water. Ryan is the guy who tested the water. As it turns out the chemicals where actually just about perfect. But Ryan gave me some easy things to do that would hopefully help get rid of the algae. He also found that I had some high amounts of Phosphates in my water which allows algae to grow. So he recommended some phosfree to lower the phosphates. After following his directions and then adding the phosfree...within about 3 or 4 days my pool went from green to Chrystal clear. I was thinking I would have to drain the pool and refill. Ryan was patient with my questions, polite, and easy to understand. I'm also really glad that I never felt like he was trying to "sell" me anything I didn't need. In fact he encouraged me to just keep to keep things simple. Great service, and great results. This will continue to be my go to place for my pool needs! read more
