After hearing his name from two separate people in two different years, I decided to change. Boy am I glad I did! Their staff is excellent and always greet me with a smile. I was so happy, that I had my husband see him too when he was diagnosed. I'd had several thyroid biopsies and each time it felt like a horrific experience that ended in me crying. Dr Cleland was so kind and patient with me when he performed the biopsy. He got what he needed on the first try and I left smiling. His PA Matt is equally kind and exceptional! He is so encouraging and helps keep us motivated to work to live healthier lives. We feel cared for and would refer Dr Cleland to absolutely anyone, especially those who've had a less than favorable experience elsewhere.

The waiting room is a tad small, but it pleasant and comfortable. It hasn't mattered that it is small because I've never had to wait for more than 5 minutes before being taken back. Everyone who works in this office is so nice and friendly. The front office staff and the medical assistants are all wonderful. They are genuinely concerned with all of the patients and it shows. I take insulin and it gets expensive... as do the needles that go with the insulin pens. Every time I am here, I am always given samples and it is so very much appreciated. If you have diabetes or a thyroid problem and are looking for an endocrinologist, I can't recommend this practice highly enough.

I write to share that my office visit never took place because I was told by the office manager…read morethat they were refusing to treat me. I had to reschedule my appointment in Feb due to being sick, then the office rescheduled me with the wrong provider in March so I requested to reschedule with the correct provider and was waiting until May for that appointment. On April 17, 2024 I received a call from the office that the office manager canceled my appointment in May and that I no longer had an appointment with Baptist Endocrinology. I requested the office manager call me back. When she did she said she had proactively cancelled my appointment and it was no longer available to me and they would not be treating me at all moving forward. She said because I rescheduled three times (once because I was sick) and the other two were at the error of her office) they would no longer allow me to be treated, and that her actions were within the standards and rules of Baptist Medical Center. I read the patient bill of rights and the patient responsibilities on the Baptist website and this is completely against both. I have been a patient at Baptist Medical Center for over 10 years with full insurance coverage.

Only to find out UF Health Emerson only provides the most exclusive ultrasounds in all of the country. Only ONE person is allowed to go in the ultrasound. THANK GOD I came here with my wife, otherwise UF Health Emerson in all of their wisdom would have demanded my wife leave one of our kids in the waiting room by THEMSELVES to appease their moronic rule. (Of course my wife isn't stupid enough to leave a 3 or 1 yr old by themselves). Front desk workers are rude and don't seem to be family friendly. I know it sounds weird because they work at a pregnancy center. 10/10 don't recommend- we'll find another place to continue our care. This place sucks.

Cannot seem to correlate obtaining necessary labs etc. No observable empathy. Would recommend increasing entry level qualifications. Not a pleasant or proficient office staff. Years ago this was not the experienced and certainly not the expected. Should improve profoundly in this area. Have never experienced such lack of knowledge and lack of caring. Making appointments for patients does not require a PhD but definitely does require above entry level skills and social navigation which gives patients an element of satisfaction.
