I have been a type II diabetic for 10 years now. I've been on insulin for the past 5 years, but last summer, my diabetes went spiraling out of control, so I was referred to an Endocrinologist. I chose Dr. Salomone because she was associated with Baptist Hospital and also because she of her office location. I am so happy she's the doctor I chose. She is absolutely wonderful! She has one of the best bedside manners I have ever seen. When she walks in the room, it's like I'm the only patient that exists. She takes the time to listen to me and actually hears what I'm telling her. She explains things in detail to me and in ways I can understand. She is also open to any and all questions I have and never rushes me. I know that she genuinely cares for my well-being and that really means a lot. I feel 100% comfortable putting my full trust in her! It took a few times seeing her before we got my diabetes back under total control because she tried me on a couple of oral medications to go along with my insulin (which I ended up being allergic too, unfortunately). Then she had to adjust my insulin to the right levels. I am happy to say that since I began seeing her, my A1C has been below 7.0. Before seeing her, it was always over 8.0. I have definitely seen results with her! The office is very clean and modern. The waiting area has comfortable seating and is very esthetically pleasing. It makes being in a doctor's office not so bad. =) The staff here are also wonderful. I have yet to encounter one person who didn't have a smile on their face. The front office staff... the assistants... all of them just wonderful. I generally hate to think about going to a doctor's appointment. But I never seem to mind coming here. If you need an Endocrinologist, I cannot recommend Dr. Leslie Salomone highly enough! I know you will not be disappointed with your choice to see her!

She does not take my insurance but I was willing to pay 100% out of pocket because I did not want to be limited by my PPO or have to visit someone that did not have the right speciality. I was told they won't take anyone whose insurance they don't take and won't allow me to pay out of pocket, because I actually have insurance. It's sad to see yet another doctor perpetuating the problems with our healthcare system, and putting business over the welfare of their (would be) patients.

I saw the same endocrinologist for years and was not happy for a variety of reasons. Each time I…read moretalked to my coworkers, they would recommend Dr Cleland. After hearing his name from two separate people in two different years, I decided to change. Boy am I glad I did! Their staff is excellent and always greet me with a smile. I was so happy, that I had my husband see him too when he was diagnosed. I'd had several thyroid biopsies and each time it felt like a horrific experience that ended in me crying. Dr Cleland was so kind and patient with me when he performed the biopsy. He got what he needed on the first try and I left smiling. His PA Matt is equally kind and exceptional! He is so encouraging and helps keep us motivated to work to live healthier lives. We feel cared for and would refer Dr Cleland to absolutely anyone, especially those who've had a less than favorable experience elsewhere.

Read the…read morereview I wrote about her here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/leslie-salomone-md-jacksonville?hrid=3PErlalNREzMu0dJkeXnyg Baptist Endocrinology is located in Building 2 at Baptist South on the 4th floor. The waiting room is a tad small, but it pleasant and comfortable. It hasn't mattered that it is small because I've never had to wait for more than 5 minutes before being taken back. Everyone who works in this office is so nice and friendly. The front office staff and the medical assistants are all wonderful. They are genuinely concerned with all of the patients and it shows. I take insulin and it gets expensive... as do the needles that go with the insulin pens. Every time I am here, I am always given samples and it is so very much appreciated. If you have diabetes or a thyroid problem and are looking for an endocrinologist, I can't recommend this practice highly enough.

I write to share that my office visit never took place because I was told by the office manager…read morethat they were refusing to treat me. I had to reschedule my appointment in Feb due to being sick, then the office rescheduled me with the wrong provider in March so I requested to reschedule with the correct provider and was waiting until May for that appointment. On April 17, 2024 I received a call from the office that the office manager canceled my appointment in May and that I no longer had an appointment with Baptist Endocrinology. I requested the office manager call me back. When she did she said she had proactively cancelled my appointment and it was no longer available to me and they would not be treating me at all moving forward. She said because I rescheduled three times (once because I was sick) and the other two were at the error of her office) they would no longer allow me to be treated, and that her actions were within the standards and rules of Baptist Medical Center. I read the patient bill of rights and the patient responsibilities on the Baptist website and this is completely against both. I have been a patient at Baptist Medical Center for over 10 years with full insurance coverage.

THANK GOD I came here with my wife, otherwise UF Health Emerson in all of their wisdom would have demanded my wife leave one of our kids in the waiting room by THEMSELVES to appease their moronic rule. (Of course my wife isn't stupid enough to leave a 3 or 1 yr old by themselves). Front desk workers are rude and don't seem to be family friendly. I know it sounds weird because they work at a pregnancy center. 10/10 don't recommend- we'll find another place to continue our care. This place sucks.

On top of that I called in advance to make sure lab work was done and that they had all the results needed to set the appointment and when she looked there were not enough results.
