Fantastic ethics. I went in to have a tire replaced while on vacation after tire warning came on. I was expecting to get attacked like vultures at a road kill site. Staff was so good and courteous. They asked if we wanted to get tire replaced or get it plugged and told me how Les Schwab patches and plugs after hearing my hesitation on plugs. I told them we were on vacation headed to the Oregon Coast and they lived up to their words. Within an hour we were on the road. Tire repaired free of charge. Granted I watched the tires but after 6 days of driving 8 hours every day since. i love les schwab for the warranty. However, I scheduled an appointment expecting things to go smoothly and efficiently. Unfortunately, that was far from the case. Even though I arrived on time for my appointment, it took over an hour before anyone even started working on my tire. What's the point of making an appointment if your car is just going to sit there while others get helped first? No one bothered to give me an update or apology for the delay, and the waiting area started to fill with other customers who seemed just as frustrated. I've had good experiences here in the past, but after this visit, I'm seriously reconsidering coming back. If they can't respect appointment times or communicate with their customers, it really hurts their reputation. Definitely disappointed. read more

I live in Alturas and I have my car serviced here. This is my second trip this week (12 hours of driving) and this is the second time the wrong parts have been ordered. Not only did I wait 2 hours to be told this (twice) but my car was damaged while they were attempting to put the wrong parts on the car. Michelle has been wonderful. I trust these folks. Another garage said I had a slow leak, which explained the warning light. The Les Schwab team checked all tires for leaks, added pressure all around and reset the sensor. That solved it. Because there was no actual repair, there was no charge. They could have easily done so. Exceptionally helpful counter staff. I took my lawn tractor tire in with a flat last month. I waited about two minutes for someone to help me, writing me up with an estimate of $20. They called an hour later saying my tire was done. After work I swung by, and was presented with a bill for nothing. I had bought tires for my truck 11 years prior and was still in their system. This will bring me back for tires. 30 minutes after I had run over a steel plate my car let me know that the two left tires of my car were losing pressure. My friend and I were on our way to hike at a remote location when this happened and it kind of derailed our plans for the day. Since it didn't make sense to drive to a remote location with two potentially punctured tires I searched Yelp and found Les Schwab. The four star reviews did not disappoint. From Johnny, who took my call and told me to come now as they didn't have a very long line yet, to Michelle who welcomed us with a friendly smile, every member of the team treated us with courtesy and respect. My mechanic Wyatt was outstanding, explaining the mechanism of my car's tire pressure gauge system in simple terms, was courteous and respectful in helping me find my wheel lock key. He didn't rush me at all but rather was pleasant and kind. They have air conditioning and clean bathrooms, and a socially distanced comfortable waiting area with tables and chairs and vending machines. What a gem of a find in Redding! I had an appt to get my rear drums and front rotors done. It's been almost 4 hours and I'm still waiting. They are going to close in an hr and a half. I feel discriminated against. So many non colored ppl have come and gone, and I'm still here. When I asked about my car around the 2 hr mark, they were just taking off my brakes. The privilege is real. This isn't the only location, Hilltop was similar, but it was 2 and a half hours. It was for an alignment. Again, I asked about my car at the 2 hr mark, then within 30mins my alignment was done. The one on churn creek wouldn't look at my car bcuz of a missing bolt. I even replaced it and they still didn't. Redding locations not recommended. read more

But they had some other tires that would fix my vehicle for $200+ more. It wasn't convenient to come in another day, that was the whole reason I made the appointment. I made an appointment first-thing in the morning to get an estimate on several repairs/maintenance for my car. I was told to expect my total wait to be an hour at most. After an hour, my car hadn't even been moved yet. Apparently they take appointments on the phone and online and just can't figure out how to coordinate these. I can't believe that's too much to ask. When they finally checked my car, it seemed rushed and I had to ask twice before they inspected my car thoroughly enough to provide an accurate estimate. In all interactions, the employees were very professional and courteous, but it was ridiculous that I had to wait so long. I arrived at work an hour later than I had expected. Why even make an appointment if you still have to wait over an hour? Even if the estimate had been competitive, you lost my business for that reason alone. read more

I brought my RV in for tires and wheel bearing maintenance. I got a quote for the tires at another Les Schwab several weeks prior. I was charged $144 more for the tires than I was previously quoted but I didn't notice the difference until I got home. I called the following day and spoke with a manager and explained the issue. He honored my previous quote from another store without hesitation and issued a refund over the phone. I really appreciated that. I will be back for my needs in the future. read more

I made an appointment and asked to have my brakes checked due to a shimmering in front when applying brakes And if need be turn routers and replace pads. I was advised that pads could not be replaced without replacing caliber too. So they checked the pad depth of wear and said everything ok. They vehicle still shimmering when applying brakes. I was told that if I wanted to have disk turned I will need to make another appointment. read more

Not all Les Schwab Tire Centers are the same. The other one in Redding was going to charge me for a flat tire repair on my RV and they had a four hour wait. I just happened to be driving by this one to see if they could get me in and they did. Within a half hour, I was in and out and they didn't charge me for the flat tire repair. That was in November of 2012. Last month I returned to Redding and when I had to get my tires checked on my RV, I knew exactly where to take it. I was greeted before I even opened the door to walk in. I told them what I needed and they didn't even ask me my name or to wait. The gentleman kindly directed me to where another coworker was awaiting my RV. Within 10 minutes, I was on my way. I just want to say Thank you for such great customer service. I bought a car from someone who had a lot of work done ie...all struts, ball joint, etc....They said if I had any problem to take it back to Les Schwab and they will help. Well a month later I have a problem the rear strut is blown. I called and they said that the warranty doesnt transfer with the car so I will have to pay for the work and parts again. That just doesnt seem fair. The strut blew within the first 4 month of having the work done and I barely use my car. I am not happy. So I told the manager that I would have the person I bought the car from bring the car in for me. He just said ok in a smerky way. a year later I look back at this review and think I was wrong to give them such a low rating. Most places once you sell the vehicle dont offer the guarantee anymore. These guys are GREAT. After a backpacking vacation in Lassen National Park we found our car with a flat tire in the parking lot. With the spare we couldn't make it back to Sacramento so we stopped at Les Schwab. Not only did they fix the tire and put it back on the car at no cost, they also took out our heavy, dusty backpacking gear so they could put the spare back in the compartment and loaded the car back up. EVERYTHING IS TWICE THE PROCE A SHOP DOES IT FOR ?L, YOU WAIT TWO plus hour Everytime your here even for small things. I came in to get my tire patched and it's never that simple it's always some excuse that I need a new tire. So I had no choice if I wanted to drive off the lot to buy a tire cause he said he moved the tire off the rim already. So I ask how much and to my surprise he said I get a road side hazard credit if $40! I was like wow cool. So how much tire? He said $30 MAX. BUT PROBABLY$20. SWEET. I wait and hour and a half longer and what do u know. They ring me up and it's $62! Like fuck. Your gunna tell me with $40 off my tire was $62???? It's a used tire that makes the full prices $100!!! That's insane. I've asked how much for all 4 new one time and it was $380. The tire place across the street gave me all four new tires for $180. Screw this place read more

I don't know of any place in Redding where you are treated better or fairer! I have been to this Les Schwab on at least 10 ocassions over the past 3 or 4 years and have received excellent treatment. They checked my tires and aired them for free on at least 4 of my visits, repaired flat tires for free, and today the shop boy and his supervisor spent at least 30 minutes fixing a TPMS sensor problem. This place is great I would highly recommend! The service is great ! Was greeted right away and got right in. I was really upset because we had gotten a tire patched at another place and the tire we had gotten patch had went flat and the place refused to fix it so we came here looking for options and we found a solution! They told us they would fix it for us for free! Plus they told us what sensor was out and checked out our brakes! So awesome! I will be back here to get my brakes and my sensor fixed ! Got my car in and then they said it's not free and that if it's out of alignment they will automatically do the alignment and charge me for it. These guys were lifesavers. After an awful experience with a local tow company, we called Les Schwab to change our RV's blowout on the 5 freeway. They were there within minutes of calling and changed the tire on the spot. They also secured loose wiring damaged in the blowout so we could safely drive back to their shop to replace the other front tire. Best customer service which was much appreciated after sitting on the side of the road for 4 hours while waiting for an elusive tow truck. read more

The other day my wife had to take her car in to get a new set of tires for her car. The staff there was extremely helpful in finding the tires she needed and getting the best price. She also scheduled for her car to get an alignment for the next day after installation of her new tires. When she brought in her car the next day she indicated she needed to be out in an hour or so. They marked up the work order indicating the time constraint and said no problem. Amazingly they had all four of her new tires mounted balanced and a four wheel alignment completed in something like 45 minutes. Needless to say my wife was extremely happy. We were driving back to Seattle from San Jose on Saturday 12/29, and got a flat 45 miles up I-5 in the mountains. Due to an issue with our spare we were stuck. Got towed to Redding, now 4pm on a Saturday afternoon during the holidays. The hubbie is making phone calls all the way down in the tow truck trying to get the tire we need for our Explorer. Good year was NO help, tho is what their tire we needed. After calling all the Goodyear dealers in the area we tried Les Schwab. We pulled into their parking lot at 4:55pm (they close at 5). Jesse was great! They stayed after hours, gave us an option that would get us back on the road Saturday to get home on schedule. They were courteous kind, and went beyond to help us. This location seems to be a better choice in town for les schwabs. Came in to get my rear brakes adjusted, a simple fix but things like this are free at schwabs. I have bought tires and services from them before but it's the little things that you can come in and get your car looked at that makes the difference. The idea is that they help you and you'll come back later. . . which is true. When it comes to tires and tire service, batteries and some of the complimentary services they provide, it's a no brainier. read more
